Restrict Manager console
Hi, How can I restrict the view of only certain monitor groups for a manager? I would essentially like to create multiple groups of monitors, but would want my managers to be able to see only those groups which they want to, and not be bothered about other groups which they need not.

Auto-refresh on Application Manager
HI, I understand on OpManager product you can personalize the product to be able to refresh the pages every minute..however I do not see the same on Application manager. Am I missing something? Is there a way the refresh of the pages showing up the alerts can be refreshed automatically, so that when the alerts are cleared, it shows up on the screen?

WAN Link
We have a WAN Link that is ysed for Data Replication (Storage based Replication) for various applications residing on Disk Arrays. We need to find outthe actual data thrown by individual applications on the link so that we can derive at a charge back model for the applications.
V5.0 Timeout issues
The Beta seems to work pretty well overall. I was wondering about a couple of things tho..... The application will timeout and direct you back to the logon screen - Question is there a way to change this timeout setting? Once you have been reidrected to the logon screen - I am experiencing an issue that rquires me to completely quit the management program and restart it in order to log back in. Is this a known issue?
How long is data stored
How long does NFA store data for? Also how much data is stored? Does NFA keep the application (port data) for this time also? Thanks
Various issues with Firefox 1.5
It seems that lot of stuff is broken with Firefox 1.5 with new version of SD. Same goes with Opmanager 6. There is persistent error with: The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid path /http://kgbermonitor:8090/WorkstationListViewAction was requested) for a lot of operations inside SD, here I wanted to delete 5 obsolete workstations and with Firefox it is impossible. Clearing cache and cookies do not help.
Calendar and reminder events
Hi when do you expect to have the calendar and reminder events available for servicedesk. Can we get a timeframe? Thanks.
Email Submission not working
We are unable to submit requests with the email function. The email are in the mailbox but servicedesk isn't pulling them to the client. We haven't changed anything lately except install ServiceDesk Plus 5001.

Small problem with Exchange 2000/2003 add-on monitor
Hello, I recently bought the add-on for exchange monitoring and added on my exchange server using the procedure below 1. Go to the snapshot page of the device running Exchange Service. 2. Click Add Monitor option against Application Monitors column in the snapshot page. 3. Click MSExchange 2000/2003 Monitors (WMI Based) from the list. 4. Select the required services and parameters and click Add. It worked quite fine ... however after a few mins, an alarm was raised "MS Exchange Event Service, MS
Problem adding new monitor
I tried to add a new SUN SOLARIS server monitor, and got the following message: "The Selected OS Type is SUN but the actual OS Type is" (the OS Type at the end of the line is missing) Can u help? (I already tried to post a topic as guest but I dont think it registered.) Thanks -Shachar

We are testing AppManager agaist our Oracle DB servers on AiX, and we get very long response times. The respone times are on a average about 4500 ms, and peaks at about 8000 ms. Can this be right when the default threshold value is 140 ms? Our system in practice is responding fine. Our setup: Oracle 9i on AiX 5.3L p570. "Selected OS Type is different" error
When trying to add new UNIX server monitor (SUN, AIX, HP-UX) I am getting the following message: "The Selected OS Type is HP-UX but the actual OS Type is " (the missing word at the end is the original error) I tried to add a monitor for WinXP and it worked. error on start
On starting eventlog manager I get a message saying unclean shutdown and then an VBS error message ( screen dump provided). This also seams to be effecting Opmanager (installed on same box) as in the polling stops. Have not noticed any effect with application manager (again installed on same box) yet.
No OUT traffic on Netflow
Hello, I am facing this problem regulary that when i configure netflow, NFA does not show OUT traffic stats at all and sometimes it works perfectly fine i.e. I see ingoing and out going traffic without changing any configuration. now NFA is again showing no OUT traffic, can you please provide a permanent work around to this problem? I have restated the server few times, and re-initialise the database too, but still same problem persist. Please help me out on this issue. I have attached netflow screenshot

Email notification for URL monitoring
I have 2 questions about URL monitoring: 1) I set up the email notification successfully last week, the email contains "Message", "Device", "Category"...... and so on. On the day that I set up this function, I could receive email with detail contents. However, after a few days, the details disappeared, I just recevied email with the mentioned headers, but not the detail contents. 2) How can I set up the "From" and "Title" in the email notification for the URL monitoring?
alarm times
When you get an alarm, does it use the time that the actual error occurs on the device or does it use the time that the snmp get request status generates.
Other Windows Log Files
We have some windows servers (Windows 2000 and 2003) with several Logfiles that are stored in the Filesystem (e.g. d:\logfiles\app1.log). How can we catch those messages? Is there a way to add these logfiles to the windows event log? how? Are there free tools? Thanks

Users questions - Viewable Info and Importing Users
1) I was wondering if there was a way now or in a future release for someone to simply view certain information, maybe in a Business View, from OpManager without having to use up license on him or her. They wouldn't need to change anything, just view what's happening on the network. 2) Are there plans for OpManager to be able to import users from Active Directory, like in ServiceDesk, instead of having to manually enter them? OpManager 6.0 keeps crashing (WinXP)
Just installed OpManager 6.0 today for evaluation. Everything has worked out pretty well - except that the server has started to crash quite a bit. I have attached the dump files from the JVM. Please let me know if you need anymore details.
Probe/Central Server
Hello, my probe and central server see each other, but when it is not seeing the network when I create a network view from the probe page -> testing probe -> discover network Whenever I add a network, it doesn't add it in. I can add a device manually which works just fine. Any ideas?
Is it possible for a department head to see outstanding jobs
Is it poosible to set up help desk to allow a requester who happens to be the department manager to see all requests for his / her department and not just the jobs logged by them? This is a pretty important feature for me. Cheers Damien
Cannot execute Binary file
Hi I m trying to install opmanager 5.6 on linux debian on sun server ( sparc ).After giving permission to binary file , it is giving error " Cannot Execute binary file ". Does support help , keep in mind that hardware is sun server. I have given permission to binary file ( chmod 755 )
Reports - Export to PDF
I am exporting to PDF and the reports keep coming out in Portrait. These do not look good as text is carried across to the next lines. I would like these to be in Landscape. I have set the preferences in PDF Distiller to Landscape, but the report still comes out in Portrait. Can this be changed. I think the report production does need a lot of improvement. Damian

First of all I'd like to say, that your idea is really great! By "idea" I mean OpManager + NetFlow Analyzer + WiFi Manager + ServiceDesk Plus as cross-integrated network monitoring cluster. Each package (by package I mean, for example OpManager, or NetFlow Analyzer and so on) has it's own web server and database server inside.
