Hello ... We are currently evaluating your application manager product, mainly to monitor our Oracle Servers. We can define Monitors (OS/Windows 2003, Oracle) and the definitions are accepted and the corresponding Monitors are defined. BUT, the logins (to the OS/Administrator and Oracle/System) are not accepted and not working (although usernames and passwords are definitely correct). WHAT MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM??? problem defining string thresholds
Hi, Using appmanager 6055 on W2K I'm trying to define a string threshold and have the following problem: - regardless I selected, the scroll list stays always in numerical value (see attached pic) - even the above situation, several fields related to text values appear but no all, i.e. I can select the comparison rule (contains, does not, etc...) but I have no text box where I could enter the text to be compared again. Is that a bug or am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help. Josep
Question about invocation counts
I'm looking at the servlet details for an application running under weblogic. One of the statistics given is the invocation count... but it doesn't say for what timeframe. Is this for the last hour? Today? Since the server started? I have the same question for the leaked connection counter on the JDBC monitors... when (if ever) does this count reset? thanks
how to set Service Desk plus to Chinese language Interface
we tested your software. It is so excellent! But we still have a question: our users only can read chinese language. Yes , we can input chinese now . But we hope the interface also be Chinese language. We heard you have the Internationalized Version of Service Desk plus . Is it true? How can we set it to let the interface (forms,reports and so on) use chinese lanuage? If not, do you have the plan ? how about the schedule? Importing Accounts from Active Directorty
I've been using SD for several months and am very pleased with it and the responsiveness of you support. I would like to have the ability to choose what fields are imported from Active Directory accounts and the ability to choose what fields to have that information populated into. Time Spent Incorrect
I have set the operational hours between 7:30 and 16:30. When a request is opened one day and closed next day, before due time, the "time spent" field doesn't show the real time spent, it shows all the time that has gone from created date to completed date. I would like to see the real time spent. How can I solve this? Thanks.
Utilization graphs
Hi, besides NFA we are running MRTG to visualize the traffic load on our links. We have now seen that MRTG (and other online monitoing tools) show us full utilization (e.g. 2048k), but NFA reports for the same period only 1500k. This is also true for the percentage graph which shows only 75% load... Any explanation on this ?
Access to data before install date
Hi The product looks good from initial impressions, however I have not yet found a way to analyse data from before the install date. Is there a way of either forcing the download of the logs from the server retrospectively or analysing the logs on the server in situ without downloading them? Thanks

Error generating custom maxtrix reports with add. fields

Netware OS Type ?
Is it possible to add an extra OS Type, beside the predefined ones ? I know in OpManager is possible to do that by editing the associated xml file. Is there such a file in AppManager also ? Network Scan Problems
Cannot scan workstations not in a Domain. It scans the servers OK and all details. It sees the IP addresses of the workstations. Win Xp and win 2000 workstations with DCOM enabled and SNMP. These workstations SOE's have been configured with GHOST image. Please help Mike G :(
Inventory Domain scan issue
Hello - Whenever I run a domain scan against all the companies PC's the browser window opens, starts the scan and then after approx 30secs to a minute it returns a page cannot be displayed error. has anyone ever come across this before? any ideas? cheers Pete

sp5 required for weblogic 8.1 application manager?
Hi, I'm running weblogic 8.1 sp3 on solaris in production mode. I'm pointing application manager at one of my managed servers and don't see anything but the server response time. I don't see the details of thread pools, jvm heap details etc as in the online demo at http://demo.appmanager.com/ Per the docs, I don't need to do anything special to setup a monitor for weblogic 8.1 as opposed to 7.x and 9.0. (no mbean authorization settings needed) What am I missing? I like the product features, but it
NetFlow Analyzer data storage
NetFlow Analyzer has two modes of data storage - the raw data and the aggregated data. Information about raw data NetFlow Analyzer 5 allows you to store raw netflow data for upto 2 weeks (minimum period of 1 hour). This period is configurable and can be set from the user interface (RunTime Administration -> Raw Data Period). The period you can set it to depends on the flow rate and on the amount of free hard disk space available on that drive. The raw data is used for generating the following reports

Is their a way to Sort the Autonmous Systems Screen by Most or least Traffic IN or OUT Columns? That seems like such an easy thing to add since the data's already in a database. Total Traffic Speed
I am sending udp traffic streams of 1.5 Mbps. I can see in the application category the present of the correct statistics regarding the application. But in the Traffic category i see the total bandwidth twice the actual (3 Mbps instead of 1.5). Any ideas what can be wrong?
Reporting
Performance monitoring and reporting: Is there a way to grab reports based on a group of servers. I am testing using the 20 node version. I'd like to group 10 servers into a graph of say CPU utilization and put another 10 into a another graph. Can you do that or is a third party utility required?

Netflow exporting not being detected
Hi, I've currently downloaded the v5 analyser and connected it up to our multiservice router (designed for Ericsson) that has netflow software running on it (derived from NetBSD codebase). We support version 5 and 9 netflows. When I set our output to v9, the management console detects this and complains, this proves I have connectivity between the router and the management console. When I then change to v5, the management console never shows that it is receiving anything. When I run Ethereal I see
Purge/Delete all requesters information
We have a medium sized Active Directory (AD) ~40,000 users that is having problems bringing in through Service Desk. We select all of the OU's that we need on a regular basis, however sometimes the top-level domain name selects and then all records are attempted. To clear this out we have to change to 1,000 records per page and then delete them--taking quite some time. Can we delete all requesters with a script or other method? Variables when customizing a template
Hi there, I am busy editing my templates. At this moment I am busy creating the e-mail reply template. I am searching there for a variable which displays the technician name in the e-mail. A lot of variables are there, but not one with the technicians name. I would like to use the name of the logged in technician when sending e-mail. Is there a hidden variable I can use or must it be fixed in the software and I have to e-mail to the support@servicedeskplus.com? Thanks a lot!
URL Monitoring limitations??
Hi! I'm currently evaluating appmanager 6 and got some problems monitoring a URL Sequence. I'm quite used to theese kinds of tools and testet a webapplication I know how to monitor using LoadRunner/Topaz. One of the problems is that it's a .NET form based application using hidden value objects (VIEWSTATE) that have to be posted with each request and uses session cookies. Actions Menu - Ping
In the Snapshot view of a device, there is an Actions menu on the right side of the window which contains Update Status, Rediscover Now, Ping, Trace Route, Show Alarms, Delete, Unmanage, and Custom Report. I would like to change the settings for the Ping option in this menu, so that it pings more than one time. How can I do this? Thanks

Cisco 4507 interface stats totally wrong
I have installed OpManager 6 to evaluate it's use for a new datacenter we are bringing up. I have had no problem getting it working with our Cisco gear, however, the values it is reporting for the interface stats are way off what the actuals are. For instance, links that have 50mbps inbound and 250mbps outbound are reported as having 7705Kbps inbound and 8847Kbps outbound (current readings). The installation has been running for a week now, and none of the interface stats are correct. Can OpManager

Hi, I've installed NetflowAnalyser on a linux server whitout X11 libraries. The Updatemanager.sh requires them. Is there a way to avoid installing X11 libraries ? (like a manual install of the package ? ) regards Cedric
Build 4112 to Build 5001 stuck during upgrade
Just as the upgrade process starts, it gets stuck at "INFO: checker for server running..." It has sat there for over an hour each time. I kill it, reboot server, try installing the sp14 again, run the upgrade wizard, and it gets stuck again. Any help would be appreciated. Rob
Secure Email Server
Hi All. It is my understanding as part of the big update from SD that we told that we would be able to connect using a 'secure email server'. However, on a recent support call with them I was told that this wasn't the case? Even though the option is clearly marked in the email settings. Firstly it would have been more prudent not to add the options before it's ready. Secondly when is it going to be available? Helpdesk is great, but running a bit under par witout email notifications thanks guys, 8)

When I activated two interface in the same router one of them dont funtion. I activated netflow in one router in one physical interface, this work perfect. But when I activated another physical interface in the same device one of them dont funtion. And, when I activated netflow in lan port the wan port send paquet too, this is normal?
integrating appmanager with servicedesk
Hi all, We have both appmanager and servicedesk running on separate machines. Now, trying to create an action from appmgr to create tickets and after entering the information, the application says: "Unable to fetch values from ServiceDesk Plus, The server might not be running or the network traffic may be too high" The authentication in Servicedesk is integrated with active directory.
