Business Viiews Properties
Is there any way to improve the performance of OpManger 7 when working in business views, especially when trying to update link properties on an existing view or when creating new links? Opmanager takes from several minutes to over a half an hour to open the link properties tool. Also, this week I am giving a demonstation of OpManager to our senior management and customer and would like to know if there are some quick tuning techinques to improve performance overall. Thanks.
Problem with Installation on Debian Etch
Hi, I'm planning a deplyment of multiple probes running Debian Etch but run into a problem... Process : TopoFE [ Started ] Verifying connection with web server ... Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager. Node limitation

When does SD+ decide that a request is "unpicked"?
I want to use the Notification Rules to resend an e-mail if a request is not picked up and assigned to a technician, so I'm looking at the "E-Mail technician when a request in a group is unpicked" function. How long does SD wait before deciding a request is "unpicked"? Is this customizable? I'd like to give the technicians 30 minutes before sending the notification again. On a side note, I have this option set up but I've never had it send an e-mail as a result of a request remaining unpicked. Is

Bulk association of Component to Asset
I don't see any import mechanism to associate components to assets. Possibly little ongoing need for a tool except for when migrating data into the CMDB. Is it acceptable to go direct into the database tables and write a SQL statement to insert the relationship without using the provided screens. What I am looking to do is associate each workstation with a desk , telephone and network floor port, each of which would be defined as components. Is it simply 1 table to be updated with the asset the component
AD Import in 6013
I developed a problem in 5507 that the AD import of requestors crashed the database requiring a reboot of the server. I was told to upgrade to 6000 then 6013 and the problem would be cured. No such luck. Anyone have an idea how to cure this issue?

Mail Filtering
Hi, We are currently evaluating Service Desk. All is looking good but we do have a problem with the mail pick up. The problem we have is as follows: A user will send an email to the Helpdeks mailbox but at the same time CC other people on the message too. The call will be logged automatically but if one of the CC'd people respond to the original message and use the Reply To All fucntion (which will copy the Helpdesk mailbox in again) a new message will be logged. Is there any method used to advise customers using ServiceDesk Plus of update releases. I have seen people refer to version 7003 but have seen no mention of this release on the forum and have recieved no communication from the vendor. scanning range of workstations - how reliable
general question to try and gain feedback from other users of SDP. I have tried fairly unsucessfully to scan ranges (IP) or sites of wrkstans using the domain or network scan utility within SDP. If I scan a site containing a number of desktop devices the success rate is typically about 1 in 10 that actually sucessfully scans. The failures on the other 80/90% vary in reasons. Compare this with my use of a dedicated SAM product (centennial) the coverage first time is more like 90/95%. Am I just missing

HTTP-URL Sequence monitor
Hi i tried to creat a new HTTP-URL Sequence in the application. I was using the URL Sequence Recorder to record 2 steps 1) Connection to a webapplication 2) Enter a Number which is the ID of a Datapacket and press ok to start the search. Now i get the response and i want to use the field "Check for specific html content" in the Application Manager to check if i get the Data on the screan. We have an awful lot of MIBs loaded in OpManager7 and the pulldown list makes no attempt to perform a sort of that list. Is there any way to sort it?
APC UPS and SNMP
Okay, I am utterly confused after having looked for solutions to this for the past 2 hours. I am trying to monitor our Symmettra 40k APC UPS. SNMP is enabled, but it won't autodiscover. I have added the APC UPS .mib's to the MIB folder, but I'm not sure what this does, or how it works. Long story short, I don't know what I'm missing. In the Symmettra event log I see the OpManager coming up as a "unauthorized user trying to access snmp information" I have a "snmp" trap sent to that entire subnet that
Problems configuring Email server

OpManager 7 - Map views request
In OpManager 6 each of the "Business" views and "Network" views could be shown as a list, the same as the "Infrastructure" view. In OpManager 7 this is not available. This is VERY inconvenient as the only view you get is a page of little icons showing a color and you have to click on each of them to get any further data. PLEASE change this back as it makes the program very painful to use for myself and my colleagues across the globe which has already resulted in my not recomending it to 2 friends

Hello support, I updated my appmanager system from version 7.4 to 8.0 with the update script. I have some question about the use of the new program gui within the webbrowser: The panel view on the homepage was different to the version 7.4. I'm missing two panels, one views the server with highest cpu workload and one views the highest response time. How can I add the missing panels to the homepage again?? On homepage and on the monitor site are new pads named "summary", "performance" and "avaiability".

Opmanager 7 missing interface stats
Hi, I have just upgraded from version 6 (6012) to version 7, using the upgrade pack available from here. All the regular windows service monitoring and interface up/down monitoring seem ok, but I don't seem to be getting any traffic information for any interfaces, being on switches, routers or servers. The devices are mainly Cisco 1801 routers (140), HP 2524 (20) and some mixed other cisco & devices. All these are being monitored fine with version 6. Is there any way to force for traffic/utilization
Help inventory tab and security tab problems
hi basicly my setup is op manager installed on our mail server and a probe installed at our clients server we a using a vpn tunnel to get the imformation from the probe to the server we have opened port 6565 6161 which are scanfi ports through this tunnel everything is working except the inventory tab and the security tab they error saying The given/available NAT_NAME(sistema-v01) & NAT_PORT(6565) for the probe may be wrong. No Service or URL monitors for a custom Infrastrcucture View
It would seem that when we create a custom Infrastructure View in OP7 those new views can only have Performance monitors - no URL or Service monitors. At least, these options do no show up when viewing a device that is in a non-Server "category". Any way wo make these monitors show up? Thanks

Computer Inactive Reports - not accurate
Support When I generate a report of Computers that haven't logged on in the last 30 Days (Inactive Computer Report), the Software goes and checks each Domain Controller. O.K so far. I am then presented with a list, which contains some Computers, which I know have logged on and off in the last 30 days. Device already present in the System (Build 7010)
Hello Yesterday i wanted to add one device to the opmanager. After adding the device OpManager said everything went fine but as i wanted to take a look at the device opmanager didnt find it. So i tried to delete the device with a prepared link (copied the delete link from another device of the same type, changed the name and called it in the browser). I'm using Firewall Analyzer to monitor VPN traffice on a Cisco VPN Concentrator. I need to see the exact time of connection and disconnect of several users. So far I've only been able to find the duration of the connection. Is there a report that can be ran to display the specific connection and disconnect times?
Advanced search does not return any data
Hi I am trying to run the advanced search in firewall analyser and never seem to get any data returned. I know that data is there, as i can access similar information via different predefined reports such as top protocols and so on. I have defined protocol groups and entered this in but get nothing, similarly I have tried single IP's or ports such as 6000/udp but again I get nothing. Is there something i'm missing? Thanks

Technical Support -- SQL Database Monitor
I am trying to monitor a SQL2005 DB with Applications Manager and everything appears to work until polling starts. I get this message "Problem in collecting data for the current status of MSSQL server. Refer Troubleshooting" and no data is returned. I am using the sa id/pw to monitor and the database is set to mixed mode. I monitor other SQL2005 and SQL2000 DB's with no problems. Hello I have been evaluating the firewall analyzer for a week or two and so far I like what I see, but there are some features I think I am missing. First off, I am running an ASA. v7 - What counts as a node for licencing?
Does the asset state change licence count at all? Ideally changing an asset status from In Use to Expired or Disposed would remove it from the node count so the asset register and associated incidents and problems retain thier integrity. Regards, Andy
Build 6000 backup "Hangs"
I upgraded from 5507 to 6000 and did it with no issues. I wanted to go to 6013 however, I cannot get a the backup routine to complete. It hangs just past the 50% mark. I left it there for almost 30 minutes with no movement. Application and MYSQL are running fine. I have the backup for 5507. Thanks Tom

OpManager 7 does'n find network if i try to discover range, like from 10.15.0.0 to 10.15.0.255 mask 255.255.0.0 Network 10.15.0.0/16 does not appear on the net map.
