Can't Update OpManager and URL-Monitor empty
Hello together. The last update i installed to OpManager, via UpdateManager.bat, was 7023. Upg v6 to v7 - Anyone can login in now
Hi All, Just wondering if you guys can help me.... not sure if this is a bug or not, or if its always been there... although dont recall it. I work for a school, a large school... where we have more computers than students. We've been using ServiceDesk now for like a year, and when we had v6, I am pretty sure the only people who could log into it, were the ones that AD (ActiveDirectory) scan import allowed. ie: I let SDP scan our AD for all Teacher accounts/logins, leaving the student accounts unchecked
Running as a service
Whats the correct way to get SC to run as a service in Windows? At the moment, if the server restarts, someone has to log on as administrator and start the SC database. Is there a way to get this running automatically at startup ? Olly
Server crashing
SC+ is crashing constantly. Event viewer errors are: There were 1 failed launches in a row, each lasting less than 300 seconds. Giving up. and There may be a configuration problem: please check the logs. I found a similar thread which suggested updating to the latest jvm and copying java.exe to C:\AdventNet\ME\SupportCenter\jre\bin. I downloaded 6.5 from Sun and copied it with no positive result. The server is a Dell 2970 running Windows 2003 Server and vmware, 4 GB of RAM and 2 processors.
Bluecoat / site categories and denied requests
Hi, we are currently evaluating FWA v5 and everything is fine so far, except reporting for our bluecoat proxy servers. I can successfully import the logs, and the FWA recognizes the proxies as "squid". In the logs, there are entries refering to denied requests, for example because of wrong user authentication or because the proxy block access to certain websites/categories. Trying to add image to org details results in error
I'm trying to add an image to our organization details and keep getting an error. I've tried to add the image in gif, jpg and png formats but each time I receive the exact same error: You are trying to upload a non image format. Kindly recheck! (BMP images are not allowed) Any advice appreciated.
problems submitting PO
After creating a PO it is sent for approval, however when the email arrives to the intended approver the email is just a link to the Purchase order. When you follow the link it opens the PO but you cannot see any items or approve it in any way. I have looked for a way of amending the email that goes to the approver but all I could find was template for overdue PO's. I am running version 7 build 10 and becoming increasingly frustrated with the software it is not running as needed!
Mail Fetching with Lotus Notes
I am attempting to setup incoming e-mail for the ServiceDesk Plus Enterprise system using Lotus Notes, however on each attempt to connect, be it via IMAP or POP3, the following error is given: FAILURE :Email Settings saved successfully. But error occurred while trying to check connection with mail server - Problem connecting to mailbox. But I just spoke with our IT admin and he said we do not use POP or IMAP. We use SMTP, is there anyway this software can be setup for SMTP for incoming email settings?
What is the proper sequence to load additional Cisco MIBs
a) Does anyone know the proper order in which I should load the various SNMP Cisco has available for its 2821 series routers - the list on Cisco's site is alphabetic. b) There are about 100 MIBs, but which are essential to OpManager?
Removing and Adding a Technician - Administrator :(
We have 5 Technician accounts, which are 4 peoples Active Directory accounts, and then a 5th guy who is using the domain administrator account. It is "Administrator" so he does not use pass through but manually signs in when he needs to. Is it possible, to remove Administrator and change it to his actual log in name? Will this break anything if I remove him and add his personal username? I mean as long as I give him back the same roles like SDAdmin (Basically all of them anyway) he should have the

Average Response Time question
I'm evaluating the product for monitoring tomcat 6.0. My question is about "Average Response Time". Does the time include round trip from client to server? Basically, does it include network time? For example, if I see an average response time of 20ms, is that the time the request stayed in tomcat, or is it tomcat time + network time?
New Template monitor specific oid
Dear Support, I have created a new template and wish to add custom monitor of specifc sub-oid to the template. The selected oid (ltmPoolActiveMemberCnt) from mib browser will return 4 results but I am only interested to monitor only 1 of the sub-oid. Contracts - can they be imported into SD+?
Is there a way to import contracts into SD+? We have a number of clients that we hold their domain registration which requires us renewing them every year or two and it would be good to import our current spreadsheet into SD+. Thanks
Can't restore a backup in different builds

Netflow Analyzer Test Mail Failed
I am not able to successfully send the test mail from the "mail server settings" tab in the netflow settings. I have tried both the name of the mail server and the IP address. Have entered the default email address to send the mail too and the from address and am using port 25. Still continuously receive a "Test Mail Failed". Netflow Anaylzer is version 5.5.0
Availability Report incorrectly showing as down
Hi, I am using ops manager build 7025, and am having problems with the availability reporting for one devices. This devices is reporting as being unavailable 100% of the time, even though it never misses a ping, shows it's interfaces as being up etc The device in question is a cisco catalyst 3750 switch, and is directly connected to the op-manager server Any help would be appreciated.
Removing Purchased Licenses
I hit something wrong the the number of Purchase Licenses doubled on me. I don't see a way to decrease the number of purchase licenses. I have 240 but right now am sitting at 480. Help
Stop Auto Domain detection ??
Ok in prior (v6) builds Domain detection only occured at startup of the application so I could remove the 15 'workgroups' it detects and not have them annoy my users. But now it seems to autodetect domains frequently while the application is running. How do I stop this ? I have only ONE domain I want users to log into, yet there are 15 workgroups floating around the ether causing mass confusion about what to log into.
Filter using pre-filled pick lists
When applying a filter to the Requests tab it would be nice if it were possible to select values from a pick-list rather than having to type them in manually. These values would be built from the items in current view, custom or otherwise.
Order requests by 'Reply'
When viewing requests in the Requests tab it would be helpfull to be able to order by the last reply into or out of a request. This would enable support reps to quickly see which requests have had a response and which are still awaiting a response

Hi, can you please add the capability of defining a guest user who gets everything. I have defined a guest user and make this userid/password generally available but every time I add a new group of anything I need to go back into this guest user and specifically add it to this user. What I need is a guest user that gets ALL groups. Or have you added feature this recently?

Where is Price in the SD 7? I do a select all on Resources and it does not show. It appears when you display the schema but not in the actual Query results. I go to the Workstation and see it on the first page but when I click edit, it is not anywhere to be found. Help?

Unable to create window credentials
Hi, I'm looking at the trial version of Opmanager (build 7025) running on W2K3 and MS SQL. Great product however I have come across an issue, I'm unable to create or edit windows credentials. When I click apply the screen clears and nothing happens except java.exe hogs the processor. I can setup or edit SNMP credentials with no problems. Any ideas ? Regards, John
Problem upgrading from 4500
I installed the upgrade pack to go from 4500 to 4603, on my way to upgrading to the latest version. The update seemed to go ok, but then we were unable to log in to the web interface. At this point, I tried to use the updatemanager.sh script to uninstall the service pack, and it gives me the error "Some exception occurred during previous patch installation / uninstallation. Please contact support team." And I also get this same error if I try to install the 4603 to 4700 upgrade pack. After this,
Entries for the device are partially added but won't remove
I had a server that disappeared and now when I try to add I get the following message "Entries for the device are partially added or removed. Click here to remove and readd the device" However, when I click it does nothing. I just get the same message when I try to readd. Can't delete server monitor
I have a couple of servers in application manager that I no longer need to monitor but I do not see a "delete" link to remove them. My monitor count will not go down until I remove these servers from the tool. Does anyone know where I can delete a server monitor from applications manager version 8 build 8200? Thanks, Jorge
