Printer Notifaction Question
We are doing an eval of OpManager and ran into this issue. We imported about 140 networked printers and we were going to setup a notification profile for them by using the wizard so we could do them all at the same time but it seems that option to trigger the notification "when any [selected] Print Monitor is down" is not available when trying to apply to multiple printers at once. Hyper-V Device Templates not working as expected
OpManager v9200 I have a 2008R2 Hyper-V Host with 8 Hyper-V VM's and when I add them to OpManager they get classified as 'virtual' devices but the VM's default to the VMWare Virtual Machine Device Template and the Hyper-V host gets both the Hyper-V Host Device Template AND the VMWare Host Device Template. When I try to apply the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Device Template there are no available hosts to select. I saved and then deleted the VMWare Device Templates, as they are not needed, and tried

Upgrade to 8.1 layout issue
We have just done upgrade to 8.1, it is working fine, but the whole layout is just a but funny. I have cleared out all the cashe, temp files, cookies and tested on IE, FF, Chrome, and Safari and every where I get the attached issue. Looks like the buttons/tabs are not visible. Regards Mario
Evaluating and comparing values based on OID using scripts
Hi everyone, I am looking for a way to evaluate and compare values (based on OID) using script monitors. Assume that I have a device (.1.2.3.4) which reports its expected state (.1.2.3.4.1) and current state (.1.2.3.4.2). I'd like to periodically evaluate the values of the two states and compare them to check whether the current state is expected (i.e. no problem). The way I am doing it is querying from the OpManager database in script. Is this the only way? Is there any better, easier, less flaky

Our server is running low on disk space and the following path is taking up most room: C:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\central\logs_archive Size - 21.4GB. all files in are text documents, and dated today (20/07/12) and yesterday (19/07/12) Does anyone know if it is safe to remove any of these files? thanks steve

SDP dont start after update to 8109 version
Hi, The only way to raise the service is exctracted renaming the folder, but you lose the configuration of SSL Certificate. After resetting the SSL certificate does not lift the SDP service. How to resolve?. Thanks, Mauricio Fuentes

We want to track how many requests are being generated through the self-service portal over time to see how much users are creating their own tickets versus contacting the service desk. How can we do this? Is this a custom report?

When I want to create the business view from networkmap feature, some times i get the error msg. (too short) error!.. What's error and how to fix its. ? Stand-alone PC Audit
What is the possibility of auditing stand-alone computers that have no network connection without manual input? How about a diskette or USB flash drive that you can take around to those PCs and start a "client" that will run and audit that PC whenever initiated and copy to the diskette or flash drive and upload to the MySQL database? This would be very helpful since we have several non-networked PCs and would like to include them in our inventory without manual input. Lazy.

I tested SAP connectivity by SAPDebug.sh script from /opt/ME/AppManager10/bin/troubleshooting folder, but it gave me error : "Unable to establish connection with the SAP system. Assets Serial Number
Serial number Column is not shown in some products, and its not even exist in the Columns selector When I looked in the admin --> Product Type I discovered that serial number column are shown only in the predefined product type list. NOT the one I've created.

Changing CI Type results in Device type changing
Using 8.1 Patch 7 SQL 2008 database I created 3 new CI types under Printer of Inkjet, Laser and Thermal. On CMDB view I then viewed the printers and selected out groups of them , by ticking the device and modified the CI type from Printer ( default ) to the appropriate Sub Type created, by using the ACTION button and choosing Modify CI type. The CI types changed as expected. What I have now noticed a week or so later is that the Device type has changed as well. I think it changed to the type

History of asset ownership of a user

Annoying startup issue with 8109 after upgrade
Just upgraded to Build 8109 from 8027 (via 8100), and now using MSSQL 2008. I have noticed that when starting up the SD service that Internet Explorer loads up before the service has finished starting and of course cannot display the SD homepage at that point. Also then the service gets to “Application Layer Started” and doesn’t actually close until you quit Internet Explorer. Just infinite dots.................................... Desktop Central - Hotfix 80029
I recently tried to apply hotfix 80029 to build 80027 and while in the process of doing so had the updater tool freeze which I then killed the process to try to apply the fix again. Before doing so I rebooted the server... now I no longer can get to the web gui even though the Manage Engine Desktop central services are running. How can I correct this issue as im very much new to desktop central? Thanks for the help in advance

Interface Status Change Monitoring and Alerting
It is typical for user access interfaces on our switches to go up and down mainly due to laptops users disconnecting from their desks. However, we still want to monitor the up/down status for if the interfaces go up or down too many times in a given period. It would be nice if this could be configured on the "Interface Properties" page where other thresholds are specified. It could then ask, "Alert if status is changed X times in X minutes". Cannot set primary keys (sql db monitor) after update to 10.6
Hi everyone. I've experienced problems on setting primary keys in a new db sql monitor after updating ME Applications Manager from 10.2 to 10.6. The error message is: "Unable to find the primay key for openquery(PRODEONE|'SELECT. To show the query output alteast one primary key has to be selected.To select a primary key click the "Primary Keys" link in the top of the openquery(PRODEONE|'SELECT table displayed." Unlike version 10.2, the new 10.6 doesn't display result table when that error occurs

Business rules for service requests
Business rules should apply to service requests as well as incidents. Often different users need to be notified of requests that are in the same category. Perhaps this functionality could be enabled, especially given that the responses to a lot of my questions have actually suggested using business rules.
