Telnet/SSH not login
I�m trying to connect a SUSE Linux Enterprise 9 , to monitoring from OPMANAGER. I�m want to use a Telnet or SSH connection but always i�m read in log message APPLNERR: Login Failure: using both connections. How can i obtain more details to this error ?
RAID monitoring possible?
Hello everyone, Been using this for a couple of weeks now and really like it. Im currently using the full version 30 day trial. Ive got a few questions though, so i wonder if anyone could help please. 1) Is it possible for me to monitor the status of my DELL PERC 4eDi RAID Controller? Asset serial number
It is possible to see the asset serial number in the asset list. We usually buy a lot of PCs and it is very difficult to link an asset to a user or workstation if we have to access every asset in the list to see the serial number.

Issue with All Devices report
Hi there, we're trialing the free version of OpManager 6, and have run into an issue with the reports. At the moment, we're using it to simply keep track of the uptime of devices, via ping responses. We've had a device that has been down for more than 14 hours today, and if I go into the details of the device availability, it correctly shows that it has been down for that time. However, if I run an All Devices Availability report, it comes up saying that the device has had a max of 2 mins 14 sec
Polling F5 BigIP stats
1)How do I poll my BigIP devices for stats using/obtained from the F5 bigIP Enterprise mibs? 2) How do I put thresholds on certain variables that I poll for? CPU, memory usage, etc.?? 3) What does Network Monitor poll by default? Just up / down via snmp poll? Thanks,
Switch Port Mapper Issue
Hi, I am currently trying OpUtils4 and am trying to get the switch port mapper to query a device in the US from the UK. I keep getting the error E1002: Unreachable host. I dont understand this as the siwtch is not located behind a firewall or router with access list denying the service. More strangley if I use another tool within OpUtils, Cisco Tools - Interfaces, it details all the interfaces on the device . I can also use the ping tools and get a response from device in question. Traffic polling interval
Hi, In the Admin -> Traffic Monitors I have the Interface Rx Traffic and Interface Tx Traffic polling interval set to 5 min however when I add a new router it is not inheriting those values instead it is taking the 15 min default value. Any idea how to correct this problem? Thanks, Ramzi
Admin -> SNMP Trap Processors - unable to access page 2
While adding in some custom trap processors I realised that I was unable to access any of the processors on page 2. The new processors are there - I deleted some processors from page 1 until they showed up on page 1 - but when I select <Goto Page> 2 page 1 processors are displayed once again. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Robert

Device already present in system
I have a device that isn't showing up and when I try to add it OpManager says that the device is already present in the system. I ran the RemoveDBEntries.bat against that device name, but I am still getting this message. help! Shawn

Problem with high load
Hello. I installed opmanager about a week ago, and im currently monotoring 23 servers. For the resource monitor i use standard settings, i monitor cpu,memory and disks. On 2 of the servers the winmgmt.exe process hits 100% cpu usage when i add this servers to opmanager. If i disable snmp it stops and the servers goes fine. The dll file the winmgmt.exe are using is wbemcomn.dll and it�s the same file on both these servers, on the other servers i dont have this file? I checked the microsoft support
Problem in discovering Router 2651 interfaces
Hello all The OpManager has sucessfully discovered router 2651 on the network. It had discovered this router as a switch, hence i changed the device type to router. But the problem is that it does not display the router interfaces. Please let me know how this is to be done. Thanks swordfish667

Atfer spending time setting up OM is it possible to Export Devices that we've edited and added monitors to? For me this is just plain Catastrophe management.
MSSQL to MYSQL Conversion
We have been having a lot of issues with MSSQL being the back end for OpManager. Is there any way to convert everything in it (I could live without the history, but not anything else) to a MYSQL database instead to see if it runs more reliably? Also, when using a MSSQL database the dbmaint and dbbackup utilities don't seem to work. Thanks
Disk Usage monitoring on Solaris through Telnet SSH
I've searched the forums and have found topics which are related, but don't seem to answer this question. I /think/ i have my snmpd.conf file set correctly, but still could not get snmp based monitoring to work. So I gave up, and went with telnet based monitoring. CPU/ Memory seem to work fine. Disk monitoring just shows all space as free. A big pink pie chart is all i see. This is incorrect. As mentioned, I am using the Telnet based disk usage monitor for Solaris. The test results come back good:

Hi. I see this has been discussed a number of times here, however nothing seems to actually fix the issue in my case. I am attempting to run opmanager-msp under Debian linux. After installation, running ./StartOpManagerServer.sh "Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager." occurrs. I would really like the option to add a URL monitor to a Business View. For my purpose, it would give me a top level view of the availability of an application. I already have the servers, mainframe, switches, routers, etc. that are in use in making the application available. The infrastructure-based URL monitors would complete the business view. Thank you

Monitoring variable out of range
I have a problem that if any of my vars are not defined on a managed device, OpManager begins to poll other vars much slower (it almost stops). How can I fix such situation and send a notification?
Hardware specifications
Hi Guys, I am wondering if there is a way in Opmanager to get a Hardware/Software specification report for specific devices? This report would give me in detail, the # hard drives, RAM and processors in a specific device. I would like to do an inventory of the servers and hopefully this feature is available in Opmanager. Can't Add item to Business View
for some reason I can't add a device to a business in Java. I enter properties. select and move the device over to the right pane but when I press ok it does not show up in the view. There are 15 devices in the view but I only see four in the propities right pane.

Hi, We have made som changes to the eventlog monitoring. If we add a rule and choses to ignore the event it works. But if we add a rule and wishes to change the status from critical to attention it does not work. Geir
How can i stop alarms for "Administratively down"
Hi, I am using free version of Opmanager from last 02 months (for testing this software). I just want to know that if I make any interface of switch �Administratively down� for specific period of time then how I can stop alarms for that interface for that specific period. Yes yes I know, beta, but has anyone tried it? I can't get the engine to stay started. The only error I have seen was something about the setting in the services logon that allows the service to interact with the desktop. The first error I saw says that was not allowed but I can't find the group policy that allows it. So I tried turning it off and the engine still quits.
All Server Disk Usage Report
The All Servers Disk Usage Report also shows results for desktops, not just servers. I think it is reporting any device that has Free Disk Space and Used Disk Space resource monitors enabled. It would be good if there were separate reports for desktops and servers.
Opening a ServiceDesk Ticke with OpManager Premium 6.0-6003
When I try to create a Log a Ticket Notification Profile, the Exchange and SQL Application Monitor selections are not present. How can I open a ServiceDesk plus helpdesk ticket with OpManager 6.0 Premium build 6003 when one of the Exchange features is in a failure state? Thank you. -Eric.

Solutions given for router's Resource Monitor is not working
Hi, OPManager's free version is already running on my network from last 02 months (For testing purpose) and I added 18 devices in the OPManager and I am okay with all the monitors. When I entered IP address and SNMP community string in "Solarwinds" for one of my router the "CPU Utilization" and "Memory Utilization" monitors start working itself. But when I entered same IP address and SNMP community string in "OPManager" for the same router; It takes all the interface details itself but not showing

Ok, first of all our company just purchased opmanager to monitor a total of around 250 workstations and 500 servers, plus 50 or so network devices. Netscreen 208
Hi, I have added a netscreen 208 firewall to monitor with opmanager ver 6. Opmanager is detecting the firewall device type correctly however it does not show all interfaces and vlans configured on the firewall. It only shows one interface which is connected to the internet.
