BUG: Always alert if one swith port is down
I moved one server out off network because it is useless, so the status of switch port became red and alert was generated. I cleared the alert, and the status of the switch become normal, but same alert will repeat generated again after a period of time. Source: 192.168.0.34 Import: Trouble Last: Oct 11,2006 02:16:48 PM Message:Port 10111 is down Last, I found out the reason, if the alert is cleared, the status of that port will become green, and the status will change from green to red at next discovery

I am experiencing a problem with opmanager. We manage several devices on our network. Recently, we have had to change the IP addresses of a number of them. I expected that as the devices' IP addresses change, they would be flagged by opmanager as being down. However, that is not the case. The devices' status is not flagged as being down, and their ips remain the same in opmanager, even though they cannot be reached using their old ips. Is there something I am missing here? Please help.
Disk Usage Graph- Reversed
I have a couple servers that the Disk Usage graph is reporting 20% free and 80% used. When it shoudl be the other way around.. Anythoughts to this.. We did upgrade to the 6.0 but I didn't notice it that way befor so can't say if it has always been doing this or not. Any Thoughts

No blue star for SNMP
Hello, i don't see the blue star in the corner of my win2000 and win2003 servers for SNMP! but i get CPU %, Memory % and Disk % over SNMP. at some server i also see in the asset details the RAM and Disk capacity, but i can't see the network interfaces, when i rediscover an interface, then it says: "interface added successfully" but there no interface after. I also set the correct login passwords and the public community I have version 6010 Could anybody say, what i have to do? Thanks
Alarm Escalation
Hi, is there a way to configure the Alarm Escalation option to send SMS or Paging rather than just email. We have the option to do that in the Notification Profile but not the Alarm Escalation Thanks Ramzi
problem in checkpoint monitoring
i installed checkpoint snmp extension on port 165 using mib browser i can completely get information from chkpnt.mib but adding device at port 165 I cant get any information and star at device doesn't appear. then i try to add another version of checkpoint firewall device , star appear but i still cant get any information except traffic interface information .So i add some custom monitor and change custom monitor port using opmanager-sql command . i found that packet was accept by firewall device
Active directory and network scanning
Im kind of new to this so i can really use some help. I tried to integrate my Active directory. it scans and sees my domains but it doesnt import the users. it says that they were failed. also im trying to scan my network but it keeps telling me "No response received from workstation. Probably the workstation might be switched off or does not exist." What should i do?? Also if u have any other pointers that may be useful please feel free.

How do I add probes to Google Maps

Linux CPU % not working
I have the same problem on all my Linux systems with OpManager 6 SP1, they all return a CPU usage of -1%. This is because the command OpManager uses does not work. One system (Fedora 2) returns just text. root@host [~]# top b n 1 | grep 'CPU[0-9]* states:' CPU states: cpu user nice system irq softirq iowait idle another (Fedora Core 4) [root@suse ~]# top b n 1 | grep 'CPU[0-9]* states:' [root@suse ~]# returns nothing because the text is not found. Notifications based on time of day
Can OpManager send Email/SMS notifications based on the time of day? For example, have an SMS send every day at 3pm with the status of the device. Thanks.

Rename Infrastructure view items
Hi, I wonder if there a way to rename the items list in infrastructure view. For example, I don't have wireless devices for the moment, but have lot of Oracle servers.. Just rename 'Wireless' to 'Oracle' could be great.. At this time, I do that : update PanelProps set attribvalue = "Application servers" where nodeid = "Ups_Map.netmap" and attribvalue = "UPS"; but the name is changed only in the HomePage.
Windows Service on a Desktop Machine
Hello everyone I'm new into OpManager Monitoring. Well I need to integrate several Windows Services. Now, I tried that, to do it with a Desktop Machine, which is running with Windows XP Pro. But I can't Add a Monitor like to a Server. Is it possible to add this Monitors to a Desktop Machine?
Changing subnet adress not possible...
Hi, We are using internal network 192.168.1.1 with subnet 255.255.0.0 but when I try to set up this in address monitor I just can use subnet 255.255.255.0. Can this be changed or how can I do to get this working? /Martin
URL Monitor Response Threshold
Hi, We have URL monitors setup on our front-end web servers and Op manager is monitoring if the URL is up or down on the monitored system. It's also recording response times. What I want to do is configure an action when the response time breaches a threshold. There appears to be no option to set a threshold for the URL monitor on the Edit page. Can this be done? What I intend to do it send an iisreset if the threshold is breached or the url doesn't return. Cheers in advance...

community string + Auth failure
Hi, We use on our network 5 different community strings to manage our snmp enabled devices. I entered the community strings in Admin > SNMP Parameters and started the network autodiscovery. Soon after the descovery started I started getting loads of authentications failures from all devices. It looks like Opmanager tries the community strings one after the other until one matches. Is it possible to assign a community string for each subnet? I tried to do that in the seed.file but I guess it only
Transferring OpManager Database Between Servers.
I have added a new server to our network which will take over the position of monitoring from our current server. I attempted a backup db on the old server, copying the file to the new server and performing a restore, but it gives me a "Problem downloading BE files". I also attempted performing a RepairDB, which found a few problems, but it still gives me the BE error. David.
Dashboard didn't refresh
hello, the tables on the dashboard (server with high cpu last 24 hours, high memory etc.) didn't refresh -> since 1-2 weeks there are the same values there. is there a way to "reset" the dashboard? thanks, martin
Interface Utilization
I'm running the eval of OpManager and I'm trying to get the % utilization on my firewall interfaces. Everything is working as far as collecting data from the firewall, but I'm not seeing exactly what I would like. The outside interface of our firewall is running at 100Mb, but we only have a 3Mb connection to the Internet, so at full load I would see 3% Interface utilization. Is there any way to change OpManager to show me the utilization of our Internet bandwidth and not the Interface bandwidth?
Email not being recieved
Hi, I'm trying to setup notification profiles... I've configured the mail servers settings and generated a test email which is received successfully. After adding the notification profile to a device and testing not email is received even though the associated alarm has been triggered. Help......
Scrolling Ticker Tape for Alerts!!!

Opmanager CPU Utilization % always the same status
Hello, when i enable the CPU Utilization % for a server, i get always the same status. If i examine the Cpu Load on the machine i get the correct status. I use SNMP to monitor the CPU Utilization. If I use SSH i get the status -1. The server is a multi prozessor machine with 2 oder 4 Cpu's. Where is the failure ?
Custom Link Speed
I've been researching an issue for quite some time now, and hopefully someone here can help me out. I monitor firewalls on our network that have a WAN port speed set at either 10 or 100 MB, however the actual link speed is 768k. The utilization report never shows accurate %'s because 50k of 100mb is too small. Has anyone created customer monitors and/or graphs to display stuff like this correctly? I'd love to here how if so.
