Device Down for over 3 minutes but no Alerts ?
Hi, We have a number of Nortel Passport switches, we have set monitoring poll for every minute with an e-mail alert notification for 3 missed polls. According the reports the devices were down for a period of 3 minutes 31 seconds, but we did not receive any alerts for this. The down time is for 5 days ago, but i cannot find anywhere that will give me the granular detail that i need, the exact polls that it missed, weather they were consectivie polls or over a given period. Can you advise please.
ssh config for opmanager
I am trying to monitor via cli on linux redhat systems. I can putty to the system but can not get opmanager to connect. what is the best config for this ?
Port Number Change
I realize that there is a Change Port number .bat file that I can use to change the port number that OpManager is on, but mine doesnt seen to allow me to change it. Anyone got suggestions on how I can change it another way? Please replay as soon as possible. Thank you! James

Change Linux CLI memory count
Under Linux OpManager will look at the used memory and then display that, but this information includes the file cache which results in a value almost always in the high 90s and renders the counter useless. What OpManager needs to do is take the value of used minus the buffers and cached values to return a value of how much memory is really tied up, since file cache can be dropped instantly and thus there's no reason not to use all memory not allocated to applications for the file cache. e.g.
how can I monitor Active directory and Exchange
I have enable snmp on my domain controler. Opmanager can monitor CPU, MEMORY, AVAILABILITY ect. but it can`t monitor AD Store, LSASS, NTFRS, NETWORK, PerFormance Counter. I want to know how can I enable those monitors. I also enable snmp on my exchange server. I also can monitor the above mention monitors on my exchange server. but when I add the exchange monitor I get the status exchange service is Down. Can someon help to fix it?

Today we added a new UPS to our systems. We gave it an IP of 192.168.1.31, added the hostname and IP to DNS and it is working great. When we tried to add the device to Opmanager we got the following error: "An interface with this IP already exists for the device calnt19.teraint.net" This is not possible, as calnt19 has no interface with that IP. What is the easiest way to monitor the environment Temperature in the serverrom
Hi, I would like to monitor the temperature in the serverrom. I guess the easiest way ist to monitor the node of the APC UPS. But in the template i can't find this monitor, so i added a new monitor with an apc mib. How? Adminpage -> Device templates -> going to "apc ups" and then click on "add monitors". I loaded the apcpower.mib und found an entry called environmenttemperature (SystemIOD .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.2.1.1.0), set the threshold and finished. But now i don't get any data. SNMP Cridential

URGENT: SNMP credentials stopped working

Fan Failure in Switch
Hi, We had an embarrassing problem earlier today where a Cisco 3550 switch failed because of a fan failure. Unfortuntately Opmanager did not alert for this failure, is there anything we should do could have done to make sure we get alerted for thes type of failures in the future ?. Regards Scott

Suppressing multiple traps
Hi! My problem is as followed: One device sends multiple traps (always the same) every minute. This device is configured in OpManager that incoming traps are forwarded as a SMS. Now each minute comes up a SMS with the same message. Is it possible that OpManager only sends the first trap an suppresses the following ones if they contain the same message? Adding additional wan links to a existing Wan RTT monitor
Hi. Is there a way to add additional ip addresses to a configured WAN Rtt monitor in OpManager?. I have a working monitor with a business view, customised map, etc and I'd like to add a couple of wan endpoints to monitor, but I don't see any option to edit the monitor, only to add a new one. I could re-create the monitor with the updated links but I want to avoid that if it's possible because I already have a lot of data collected by that monitor and i don't want to lose it only for two wan links.

Receiving "Updates failed"
Hi! I try to set an IP address at one device which only shows 0.0.0.0 If I try to set it I am only reveiving a javascript error message "Updates failed". If I click on "Ping device" I am reveiving the right IP address but I can't fill the right value into the IP address field so it generates an error that the device isn't available. I don't want to delete the device and readd it because there are a lot of values collected which I don't want to loose. I am using OpManager 8024. Hope you can help me

Hi all, We have Opmanger build 8006, install on a Vmware server , running Windows server 2003. We already have a GSM gateway on our network. The question is, how do we config opmanger to send a sms via our gateway (NOT the sms modem attached) when there is a fault ? I thinked about use "run a program" notification profile to connect to gsm gateway via a script, but dont know how to send the content. Plz help me a solution for this. Thanks.
