Hallo, I am abel to get propper statistics on SMTP mailflow. So I know how many mails are going out and how many are comming in. I would also like to know how many mails have been sent internally - so never left the Server. How do I do this? Thanks Robert
at-a-glance interface reports
When i run the at-a-glance report on a gigabit switch interface the bytes per second cap out at 200k The Mbps show up accurately though at around 750 Mbps. Is there a way i can fix this.
Cannot change SQL db password in OpManager's db config file
Hi, Im trying to change the database password in OpManager's database configuration file to meet the change made in the SQL server, but im not able to do so as when im trying to save the change it says 'DB with this name already exists'. How to make this thing work. I tried renaming the DB name in SQL but then its not able to create a new DB. Faisal
Allow users access to dashboards
Hello, Running Opmgr 8721. Is it possible to give a read only user access to a specific dashboard? When I setup a RO only account and give him access to a business view, he is unable to see any dashboards. When I give him RO rights to all business views he can than see the dashboards. Please advise. Thanks.
Issue when schduling a report unable to add separate email addresses.
Have scheduled a disk space report from the report itself but when adding multiple email addresses the report does not get sent. Also if you do this within the schdule report in adminstration it says enter valid email address even tho you have already enter 2 addresses correctly with a ; or ,.
alarm when an interface comes up
Hi, I couldn't find a way to set up a notification when an interface comes up. This is needed for ISDN backup interfaces, when the alert condition is when the interface is up. Any solution? Regards, Borut

Hi there, We have installed the probe of opmanager on a fresh installed Windows 2003 Enterprise server. When doing an inventory scan or a security scan this message appears in the system log. Problem with time
Hi all, I have problem with time on received messages. Time on server is OK, but I get the message with one hour late. This is configuration in Notification Profile: This is mail message: Message: $message Device: $displayName Category: $category Error Condition: $stringseverity Generated at: $strModTime ----------> problem!!!!!!!!! $displayName IP Address: $DeviceField(ipAddress) $displayName For example, I get mail in 12:00, and the Generated time is 11:00!!! problems whit opmanager, server option.
hi working whit OpManager, inside the server option we have added some servers whit operating system win 2000 server, win 2003 server and Linux, the fact is that even though the servers have been dropped, the OpManager always identified as up. the test performed was to add these servers but as desktop and now if identify when dropped and when they are up. the OpManager will have some bug in the server section? or whats happen? thanks.

disk utilization
Hello I am running a version of Opmanager on my Network and it is monitoring about 12 servers. one of my servers has an alert for 100% disk utilization, but when checked the real utilization is only about 79%. i have checked the device assets to make sure the HD size is correct. I dont know what i need to do to make the opmanager read the correct used space... if you need info please let me know. ps. sorry if this is a double post but i cant see if my last post worked...

OID Issue
Hi, I am able to get reply from this oid 1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0 but in this opmanger bydefault for all the device the oid is .1.3.6.1.2.1.25.3.3.1.2 how we will change this oid any idea appreciated. Regards, Ramesh
Service Pack Fudged up my OpManager
Updated to the latest service pack and now my OpManager is showing duplicate devices and I'm not having confidence that it's the only thing broken. What's up with this?

Change IP of monitored device
Hello, We have trouble with changing IP address of monitored device. It seems that changing IP in the device configuration has no effect at all. We found in the forum information that if device was added by IP not by name we have to delete it and add it again. Is that really correct? I can imagine that we would like to change IP of the device but not to lost all history of its availability? Maybe this is possible at database level? If so, could you provide us information in which tables this information

Good morning, We are having a error when we try to add some device in the OPManager software. This device in question was already added however was delete after. After this, we cannot add the device in OPManager because we receive the following error: “Entries for the device are either partially added or removed.Click [here...] to remove and readd the device”. Doing a little research on your site, we see that this is a problem that you already know, however the tool released for solution (RemoveBDentries.bat)

Hi, Is there a way to add device notes straight to the database or a text file ? I would need to add 120 different ISP identification numbers to routers. It will be a pain to add them trough the web interface.
opmanager, vsphere 4.1 and disk performance
Hi, we're testing how opmanager manage performance counter on vsphere 4.1 and we have a little problem. Our infrastructure is all on ESX 4.1 with Datastore on NetApp NFS shares. On the host performance of the esx server and on vm on that host we see that no performance information is reported related to NFS Datastore (new feature of ESX 4.1). Is this correct? Will performance monitoring on NFS Datastore (and also on VM that reside on those Datastore) be introduced in new versions? Thanks Francesco

OpManager - Running on a VM
Hi (This is similar to a Netflow Question on another forum) I am looking at upgrading our OpManager to the latest versions via applying service packs etc. Before i proceed with this, can you tell me if it is possible to run OpManager on a virtual server in VMWARE. I have been looking on the website to see if you have any instructions etc for this or whether it is supported. We are going through a virtualisation project at present where we are removing physical servers and replacing with virtual servers.
VMWare monitoring?
Hi Guys, This is my first posting on this forum and I'm hoping that someone could help. I'm in a siutation where I had to take an older physical server to setup in our DMZ environment as a VMware vSphere 4 server. All is well but now I need to setup some monitors for this server so that I am notified if ever there would be a disk failure, high CPU usage, etc. The server is a HP Proliant DL380 G5. Any ideas of how I can setup monitors for it?

Problem with Discovery
Hi, I am testing this great application, but I have a problem. In my large network I am using the network 10.37.252.0/23 for management and when add the switch with ip address 10.37.252.255 I have this messagge "Device not reachable", but device is reachable, I have tried ping and snmp walker, I am using vers. 8.7. ESX Stats unavailable for custum period
Hello, We have OpManager 8721 and I like to know if it's normal that stats for new monitors (CPU, Memory, Disk, Network, ...) are unavailable for custum period? For example, if I take an ESX device and I click in "Disk" tab and select report "Disk Write Latency", I have only stats for last 12 hours in the graph and if I click in the graph, I have last 24 hours. OpManager 8721 issues
Hi, We have recently completed an upgrade to the newest version of OpManager 8721 and have noticed a few issues. Our customised Business Views are able ot be displayed any more and result in a blank page with the word "Error!" on it. We have Exchange 2010 servers that are not detected as Exchange 2010 servers and instead classify as Windows 7. Even after removing them from OpManager and re-adding. Cannot edit Business Views. remove bad snmp data
i have an snmp monitor that typically reports 0-40 units. when the device rebooted in reported a HUGE number that is throwing off the historical to graphs considerably. i would like to remove that large number so opmanager has accurate historical reporting. screen shot is below to help illustrate the issue. thank you for your time.
