Switch Port Mapper Problem
Hello, I am trying out OpUtils 4, I tried out 3.2 I liked it a lot 4 is a lot faster and seems more robust. One problem, we don't have routers in our network and before in OpUtils 3.2 I could use a server with SNMP enabled to instead of a router for better MAC address resolution and DNS resolution. However, now even though it says Router/Server (Optional) when I put the server in (same one I used in 3.2) it says Error: Not a Router. Is this just a bug? Thanks, Chad

Wake On Lan not working
Anyone else having this issue? When I originally installed and tested the product, the wake on lan function worked wonderfully. We were able to select multiple systems and wake them without a hitch. However, now that we've purchased the product, I am unable to even get the page to generate the list properly so that I can select multiple systems to wake. Any fixes for this? We are running Windows Server 2003 (Standard) and have already applied SP2 to OpUtils 3.2. We are also using McAfee Enterprise

New Feature for IP management in OpUtils 3
Would like to see the ability to have the info stored somehow so that anyone can login to see it, also the ability to modify an ip shown and give it a personal status of either used, not used (as it is now), and reserved status. This would be good so that if an address is being used for a temp solution somewhere or as an internal thing, those ips can be marked with the appropriate status. This feature is available in the SolarWinds version and I would like to see it implemented here. This is the
Network Taps
I am new evaluating the OpUtils and see that no where is there anyway to monitor or see my Network Taps. Is there a way to set up my Network Critical Taps? This will be the big show stopper for me if we cannot manage/monitor the taps. Thanks
auto-refresh
Hi everybody, i wonder if there is a way to auto-refresh the page containing the snmp-traps. Otherwise we are not able to ensure a pro-active management. Thank you. Kind regards, Chris
Trap Receiver
Hi, I'm trying to use the trap receiver to verify that traps are being sent from various devices. I'm testing with a Solaris 9 server (generating the traps). I see the traps being sent out of the Sun Server pass thru a FW and arrive at my PC running the SNMP Receiver. The SNMP Receiver does not register that an SNMP Trap has arrived. Any thoughts? Thanks, Chris
Cisco Router and PIX monitoring don't work
helo, I'm trying opmanager for view online status for cisco 2800 and pix 515e. where I can find simple configuration for cisco? I tried set some snmp-server commands, but it didn't work. server with opmanager and both cisco are in the same subnet.
OpUtils & OpManager on the same server
I am currently testing out these products and I have noticed a problem with them. They don't seem to like being logged in together. I log into OpUtils and start doing something, then I log into OpManager, if I switch back to OpUtils the session ends if I log back in and go back to OpManager the session ends. Not a huge deal but it can get annoying when trying to get a lot of things done.
CPU Monitor, what OID?
Hey folks I am desperately trying to monitor my Dell PowerEdge server via MRTG. Up to now, I have not been able to find out any of the OIDs I need to display simple things like CPU usage or memory load. SNMP walks with the Dell MIBs all failed and I'm really becoming frustrated. Now I tried the OpUtils and who would believe it, the CPU Monitor is painting me a wonderful graph of the Servers CPU load! Anyone out there that could tell me how to find out what OID OpUtils is using or how I could find
Need to keep restarting Oputils from the server.
Support... I am testing oputils to see if is a viable solution to our network management. The problem is I have to keep restarting Oputils from the desktop icon to get it to run. I have installed this as a service but this still fails Is this a common problem. Any Help would be much appreciated. Regards Garry

Logging
I downloaded the trial version of OpUtils yesterday to see if it would help me monitor my networks. I setup an Enhanced Ping to check several gateways and trusted IP's of our WAN. While I can view current ping times I would like to look at the history. Is there a way to view the log? Thank you, Richard Isbell richard@thetsg.net
License still not applying
I have tried the fix, but license still doesn't seem to apply properly. This is a brand new (ie. downloaded today) OPUtils install. I have only installed the fix and my build is 3223, I am hoping that is correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have already sent in the support files.

Issue in Applying License
Dear All, There was an issue in checking the product expiry date for registered users. As a result, registered users who are using OpUtils 3.2 would be asked to upgrade again when they re-login to OpUtils. This issue has been fixed and the patch for the same can be downloaded from: http://bonitas.adventnet.com/netutils/18Mar2006/ManageEngine_OpUtils_3_2_SP-2_4.ppm Steps to Install the Patch 1. Stop OpUtils. 2. Execute the UpdateManager.bat/sh located in <OpUtils_Install_Dir>/AdventNet/ME/OpUtils/Application/bin
WOL not working
The WOL feature does not seem to be working for us. When OpUtils was installed and upgraded to SP2, we were able to utilize the WOL feature to wake up computers one at a time. However, when we created a full list of IP addresses and did a batch WOL command, this feature then stopped working. After that, we lost the ability to do a WOL to single IP addresses. The only way we could get this feature back was completely uninstall and reinstall. Any help???
SP2 and Licensing
Hi, After I apply SP2 I always get limited (free) edition even if I make upgrade with my licensing file. what I did wrong?

snmp trap receiver unable to revceive trap on linux box
OpUtils 3.2 run on the Linux box (Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 4 (Nahant), 2.6.9-5.ELsmp). It does not seem to receive the traps (or unable to display?). The jre running on the box is jdk1.5.0_05. Do "netstat -nap" and shows it is binding to the port 162 with the ipv6(?). # netstat -nap |grep 162 udp 0 :::162 :::* 3820/java But on the same Linux box, the net-snmp snmptrapd (a C program) is able to receive the traps from same deive: # netstat -nap |grep 162 udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:162 0.0.0.0:* 3784/snmptrapd
snmp traps arrive on 162 but cant be displayed
Port 162 is opened upon opening OpUtils3.2 (otherwise ICMP destnation unreachable is sent), but the refresh button will not display them. In the log trap_receiver_log0.txt: 10:56:51:640 [ Trap Receiver ][ trap_receiver ] [ WARNING ] : TrapReceiverAction : getErrorMessage() : Error message is : Listening for traps at port 162 Any idears?
Cisco Config Backup
We there every be the ability to backup the config of a Cisco switch or router. Maybe, have the ability to schedule a backup. If not in opUtils, maybe in the Opmananger product. We currently use both products.

Cisco SAA Reporting?
Does AdventNet offer a product that can report on SAA SLA metrics? I see some references to SLAs in the product literature but nothing specifically for SAA. If AdventNet does not, does anyone know of a vendor who offers a polling/reporting package for SAA that's independant of Cisco's own tools?
SNMP display for traps
Well I had high hopes. I downloaded the latest version installed, then attempted to add Lotus Notes/Domino MIB. Failed, so found on the forum a script, downloaded, ran, and way to go, I see the Notes-MIB now listed in the MIB Browser. Great, configured SNMP traps and then... restarted the Domino server and watched, and then .... 1 .1.3.6.1.4.1.334.72 192.168.1.254 1 hours, 32 minutes, 27 seconds. .1.3.6.1.4.1.334.72.3.1: mail 2 .1.3.6.1.4.1.334.72 192.168.1.254 1 hours, 33 minutes, 20 seconds. .1.3.6.1.4.1.334.72.3.1:
Running OpUtils on the same server as Opmanager
I am trying to run both programs on the same Redhat 3 server but if I startup OpUtils on the default port and Opmanager runs on 9090, it runs for a few hours then both OpUtils and OpManager stop responding. I'm running it on a dual 3.06ghz with 3 GB ram and the server has very little load on it. How do I run both of these programs on the same server? Thanks!
