Switch Port Mapper
Hi, When using Switch Port Mapper tool with cisco switches, mac address field in obtained scans is empty. Even for mac address statically entered in mac address table of switch. I can only see mac addresses learned on trunk ports. Also, what is the purpose of Search field of Switch Port Mapper tool? For what exactly is this search engine? It would be perfect if there can be entered MAC address and as a result obtained switch and port on which this address is learned. In search should be included

Switch Port Mapper - Hirschmann Switches
Switch port mapper fails to identify the ifname on Hirschmann switches, is there any way I can correct this? Additionally, I would like to be able to omit the optical ports of these switches so that I do not collect information from devices connected via these interfaces. Is there any way I can be selective about which ports are mapped?
Installing OpUtils in Suse Linux
Hi, In order to run OpUtils in Suse Linux, the following configuration change has to be done: Open the /etc/hosts file in an editor and comment (add # preceding the line) the following line and save: ::1 localhost ipv6-localhost ipv6-loopback OpUtils, when started without this configuration, will throw an error something like "Problem while Starting Server !! Can not add interfaces to monitor for bandwidth... HELP
Can not add interfaces to monitor for bandwidth. I have tried using both the V1 and V2c options and the program wont even let me add a single interface yet I can see the list of interfaces on my router. I just upgraded to the professional version and can't for the life of me figure out why this simple task is just not working.

can't get switch port mapper working properly on Cisco 4507R
I try to use the swich port mapper feature on our cisco 4507 R L3 switch, but can't get any IP address, but if I use solarwinds, I don't have any problem. What should I do to fix this? I'm using OpUtils 4 4300 build eva version. Thanks Thomas
Problem after upgrade to build 4300
After upgrading to build 4300 I can no longer see my rogue devices. I had about 30 entries and they all disappeared. Also I see new rogues under alerts but when I go to the rogue page I see nothing. I tried calling tech support but they were busy and they said they will return my call, that was yesterday morning. Help!

network monitor stops polling
Hello, Yes I do have another post about the network monitor not updating. Last time I stopped and started the service and it started polling again. It worked for a while and now it is not polling any more. Also when I clear the error log, it clears the history for that. Not good. Can you help me figure out why this is not polling any more. This is a good feature and I really need it right now. The last poll that it took was on 3/17-2007 at 11:59, so it ran for a day. Thanks! Mark

Bandwidth Monitor and Deleting Alert issues
Hello, I am having trouble deleting IP Address monitor Alerts. I had 3k messages and I select IP Adress Manager and press delete all, the screen flashes and they are still there. I got them down to 2500 messages and they still won't delete. Also I am having issues the bandwidth monitor saying NO Data Available. I have Cisco 4003, 4006, 3550's, I choose V1 and I still don't get any data. Other than that, it would be nice to see port dulex (full or half) in the switchport mapper. Thanks!
Help with mail Alerts
Hallo, I just recently started using OpUtils to monitor my network, and im trying to use the email notifications, but i cant seem to make it work, im using this smtp server: smtp.crazymofo.com.mx, but it needs authentication and im using my email address as the "from" mail and my password to connect to the smtp server, but still i cant seem to make it work it says this: "E6002: Unable to send mail.", can anyone help me please i really need to make this work. Features in OpUtils IP Address Manager
Hi, To have a complete IP address manager I would really need to have fields to name my IP subnets and nice to have would be if I could have a vlan field as well for the subnets. In the subnets I need to be able to reserve an address, preferable with a checkbox or a dropline or something other else easy and visible way. Also a comment field is needed for both used, reserved and unused addresses. Is this something that could be added? With those extra feaures I would not need Solarwinds IP manager.

Report Possibility Question
My company is currently in the market for a NMS system and OpUtils seems extremely versatile and useful. The one thing we are looking for is to be able to generate a report that would give an uptime percentage for a specific switch/router interface over a given period of time w/ exclusions such as: Router Gi1/1 99.9% uptime over 90 Days, downtime occurred at X:XX am on X/X/X. So far none of the packages we have looked at can come with this data, I cannot find something which makes me think OpUtils
New Feature
It would be nice to if the subnets were standardized throughout the application. For instance IP Address Manager knows what subnets are on my network but I have to add each one individually for Network Scan.
Delete all Alerts
I am evaluating and I would like to know if there is a way to mass delete alerts. We often have "rogue" devices on the network, and I would like to be notified. I would like to be able to delete them quickly though. Right now we left it up and running over the Christmas break and the IP address management tool move a ton of ports from transient to avail. So now I have over 30000 alerts. It will take a while to delete those 100 at a time.
Contact shuts down ftp communication
I have installed OpUtils demo and I set up my subnets to scan. That night, one of our critical ftp servers stopped accepting connections. After looking into the problem, it was found that the OpUtils server was continually trying to contact this machine. Once the OpUtils machine was shut down, the ftp server was accessible again. What would cause this to happen? Is there a way to start OpUtils back up so that it does not incapacitate my ftp server? Thanks for any help. The software is great so far,

MIB Module Viewer crashed after add of a Timetra MIB

Wake On Lan Mix results
Hi, I installed Wake On lan, opened port 7 on all core switches but I am getting mixed results. sometimes I get to wake up 10 workstations other I am not able to wake up a single one. can some tell me why am I having these mixed results. Not a Router
I am attemtping to use the switch port mapper to resolve the hosts on a segment that does not have a real router. I have a netscreen firewall with a number of cisco switches behind it. I am able to use other products by using a windows machine as the router. What is wrong with what I am doing.
