Hello, I am trying to add a formula in the <oid> section, but the formula is quite long and needs to be put on different lines in the file. How do I go about doing this? Thanks.
Unable to Backup after Upgrade to 6.0
I recently upgraded from 5.6 to 6.0. I am attempting to perform a backup of the system using Backup.bat but it fails with an error: Please wait ! how to take Backup of Opman. from Windows to Linux server
Hi all I have one query Presently we have installed opmanager in windows server , taking monitoring of servers from there. Now i have installed opmanager 6.0 on debian. I want to import my all data from windows server to debian server . i want all existing setting setting which i have made on my windows server into linux debian server . IS it possible ? IF yes , pls give me detailed information ,after fresh installation which file from windows server i have to backup to which dir into debian server
problems with Debian and SNMP
hi folks, I've installed OpManager on Debian Etch. I don't know why, but I see Debian as Unknown Desktop, and I couldn't see CPU utilization, MEM, etc ... What I've to do? 64bit JVM Support
I'd like to run it on Windows Server 2003 64 bit edition. Does anybody see any problems? I know that the wrapper is 32bit only, but as long as I control the stop-start functions without the use of the wrapper, I should be okay. Any thoughts?
integrating op manager with service desk plus
trying to get service desk plus to integrate with op manager but op manager tells me my server is too busy to fetch information. Problems starting OpManager on Debian Sarge
Running Debian Sarge (kernel 2.4.27), have installed trial version of OpMgr 6.0 I'm having the same problem as this thread: forums.adventnet.com/viewtopic.php?t=834 Have installed pkg libgdbmg1, still no go... When I go into the apache dir, I do not see a "StartWebSvr.sh" script. Please advise, trying to set this up to demo to my boss for a meeting I'm having soon... Thanks!
Graphing negative integer values, ie wireless signals
Some wireless devices enable retrieval of signal strengths via snmp, this would be very useful to graph this information over time. However the values returned a always a negative integer, ie -69 (dBm). Is it possible to retrieve and graph these, or to somehow ignore the - value?
Proliant Traps
Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to use the compaq/hp proliant mibs to create traps in opmanager? Im running verison 6.0 and the built in traps which you provide do not provide me alerts on fan failures, power supply failures, chassis failures etc. These are provided in the mib files from hp. I would also need to receive alerts on disk degradation and failures, again standard hp traps. I have loaded the cpqhost.mib and cpqhlth.mib files and used these to send alerts. Customer Support Portal
I am unable to pull up the customer support portal and knowledgebase site. I have tried from an unfirewalled T1, DSL and through our corp network and none of them could pull up the page. I have emailed support twice now about it but I have heard nothing back. Are the sites down?
Device / URLs --- stop clear msgs, when URL not monitored
We have some development web servers, which it is helpful to monitor several URLs on each. Because I do not want to monitor the URLs when the developers are working with their servers and taking applications down, and possibly performing reboots. Corrupt database after a power cut.
After a power failiure on a server which hosts OpManager, I started opmanager only to find object not found on everything. I then proceeded to stop the opmanager service and run the batch file that repairs the mysql tables. Everything went fine, or so I thought. Anyway all the servers in opmanager seemed to be there, except for just one, which when I click on it in network view, it just says "object not found" Ive tried repairing the database again but still not working. URL monitor which requires username and password
Hi, I'm trying to monitor a URL which requires a username and password for authentication. Every time I click the "Check now" buttom it says the URL is down..I am putting a username and password in the verify boxes that has access to the URL. It isnt down I can verify that. Thanks Phil

Disable category domain controllers
In opmanager 6 is a new category named Domain controllers. When i add a domain controller - he was standard in this category - ok fine. But when i change the category to server (because i don't see any information in cause of the not licensed addin) every few minutes he changed back to domain controller!!! Can i disable in any way the category domain controllers? Is it possible that windows has to do with that problem? This message is from the eventlog on opmanager-pc: ---------------------------

Disk utilization
I am having problems getting the disk utilization working on monitoring my linux boxes. I am trying to use SNMP but this returns as if the SNMP is not working. If I try and use CLI then it returns a result of Instance -1 Value 679. Please help.

Hi, can one have opmanager send me emails just for specific alerts. I want an email when a peticulat URL is down. I have setup the email server and sent a test email to verify it works. Thanks Phil

Followed your online notes to upgrade from 5.6 (5604) to 6.0. Im running Windows Server 2003 Here are my issues: 1. Cannot launch Mapmaker from Server 2. Web clients no longer display from following on the home page: No Infrastructure Views on left hand side, Business Views or Network views. No Tabs at the top for Home, Maps, Alarms, Admin, Reports, Support are missing. No Insfrastructure Snapshot, or Business Shapshot pls advise, thanks

Hello, I moved OPManager to another machine - and now i've very high application response times (Telnet/Web/SMTP) at SOME (approx. 10 of 50) servers (4500ms - timout???) Any ideas? Deleting and re-adding the monitor doesn't help. Regards, Martin

Small problem with Exchange 2000/2003 add-on monitor
Hello, I recently bought the add-on for exchange monitoring and added on my exchange server using the procedure below 1. Go to the snapshot page of the device running Exchange Service. 2. Email notification for URL monitoring
I have 2 questions about URL monitoring: 1) I set up the email notification successfully last week, the email contains "Message", "Device", "Category"...... and so on. On the day that I set up this function, I could receive email with detail contents. However, after a few days, the details disappeared, I just recevied email with the mentioned headers, but not the detail contents. 2) How can I set up the "From" and "Title" in the email notification for the URL monitoring?

When you get an alarm, does it use the time that the actual error occurs on the device or does it use the time that the snmp get request status generates.

Users questions - Viewable Info and Importing Users
1) I was wondering if there was a way now or in a future release for someone to simply view certain information, maybe in a Business View, from OpManager without having to use up license on him or her. They wouldn't need to change anything, just view what's happening on the network. 2) Are there plans for OpManager to be able to import users from Active Directory, like in ServiceDesk, instead of having to manually enter them? OpManager 6.0 keeps crashing (WinXP)
Just installed OpManager 6.0 today for evaluation. Everything has worked out pretty well - except that the server has started to crash quite a bit. I have attached the dump files from the JVM. Please let me know if you need anymore details.

Hello, my probe and central server see each other, but when it is not seeing the network when I create a network view from the probe page -> testing probe -> discover network Whenever I add a network, it doesn't add it in. I can add a device manually which works just fine. Any ideas?
Cannot execute Binary file
Hi I m trying to install opmanager 5.6 on linux debian on sun server ( sparc ).After giving permission to binary file , it is giving error " Cannot Execute binary file ". Does support help , keep in mind that hardware is sun server. I have given permission to binary file ( chmod 755 )

First of all I'd like to say, that your idea is really great! By "idea" I mean OpManager + NetFlow Analyzer + WiFi Manager + ServiceDesk Plus as cross-integrated network monitoring cluster. Each package (by package I mean, for example OpManager, or NetFlow Analyzer and so on) has it's own web server and database server inside.
