Connecting OP7 to an external MySQL database?
I have searched the forums but not found an answer - is it possible to connect OP7 Premium to an external MySQL database? If so, where would one find the instructions to make this happen? Thanks!

Servicedesk & OPManager on same server
Hello, We are currently running a licenced Servicedesk Pro 7 om port 80: (http://servicedesk) I am trying to install a demo copy of OPManager on the same server. The setup run with no problemens an I set it up on port 8080. When setup finishes it says that the port is already in use. I tried to change the port, but it still tells me its already in use. When I run "netstat -an" it does not tell me that the 8080 is in use. Idea's? Jeroen van Lieshout BTL Nederland B.V.
RPC Server unavailable
Hi, I am using OpManager MSP 6005, and have one Windows 2003 R2 server that I can not add Windows services for monitoring. I keep getting "The RPC server is unavailable" error. I checked that RPC and WMI services are running and ports 445 and 135 are not blocked. Also the account and password are correct. Several other servers on the same probe are working just fine. How can I fix this problem ?. Thanks Gus
OPManager 7.x on same box as ServiceDesk Plus
I currently have OPManager build 6016 and ServiceDesk Plus 6.x on the same unit. This has been running for quite a while just fine. We are getting ready to upgrade the OPManager to the 7.x product. Will there be any issues doing this with the existing ServiceDesk Plus 6.x product on the box? When the ServiceDesk 7.x migration pack is complete will there be any problems with having both of the latest OPManger and ServiceDesk Plus on the same box? Thank you... just want to be sure before updating.

I Have the follow message in the option windows service monitor, when i am selecting the button Add New Monitor: Message: Services in sapprdb.colombiamovil.corp Error # Not enough storage is available to complete this operation. SNMP Traps arrives in SNMPv1 but Varbins cames in SNMPv2
Hi, i am newbie to SNMP but i am having a problem configuring OpManager 7 to receive traps. I have the MIB file for the equipment and the MIB file is in SNMPv2. The problem is that i load the file but seems that the traps arriving are in SNMPv1 but i did a trace with wireshark and seems like the traps are in SNMPv1 but the varbinds are in SNMPv2. If i configure the TRAP processor for SNMPv1, i can receive the traps but i am unable to processe the clear trap. Is there a way to resolve this problem?

Ability to Add Additional Drives?
I have a server, its a NAS server. It is currently configured with a number of DAS arrays. Each of which is monitored by OpManager. Now I've added another drive. How do I get it to see that drive? I go to Add Monitors and select Free Space in GB but its already selected. Clicking okay doesn't cause it to relook at all the drives to see which ones exist and if any new ones have been added. The only way I can think is to remove the free space monitoring then re-add it. But I don't want to do that as

Hi, Is Exchange 2007 currently supported as a monitored server? If not, what are the timescales for its support. Hello, I've been playing around with the demo, trying to see if I can create an adequate view of my network, and I've run into the need of using custom shortcut icons. The only problem is that I don't know where to drop the images into. For custom device icons its simply /images/devices, but I don't know where to put the custom icons for shortcuts. Any help? Thanks

Incorrect classification of new device
Hello there, I have a Catalyst 3750 24TS switch that I am trying to add into OpManager. The sysObjectID is 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.516 so I have edited the template for Cisco Catalyst 3750 series and added this OID to the list. However I have deleted and re-added the device several times, and OpManager keeps classifying it as Category: Router and Type: Cisco Device (rather than Switch and Cisco Catalyst 3750 Series). Any idea why this might be?? Regards, Lee

Is ther an Autologin feature with Opmanager?? the reason I ask is that on our monitor PC the screen saver displays web pages. So what I would like todo is display the current condition of all our clients one after another via the screen saver?? cheers Paul

Service Monitor Status does not update
The Service Monitor Status does not update the status of the service, when it is recovered. Monitoring a linux box via Linux Agent SNMP I have added teh service monitor SMTP when I trun off smtp, the monitor shows the service is down, when I bring it back up, it does not update the alarm and the status of the screen. I even updated the status and brought down the monitoring time to 1min. Is this a known issue? Please advise
MSSQL Monitors Not Working
I am trying to setup MSSQL monitors and am not having any success. I think the problem is that SNMP monitoring is not working on the OPManager side. When I test the credentials the SNMP works. However when I try to test my specific MSSQL monitor that is SNMP it is not able to connect. Hello Support Team we use the MSP Ed. and we have the following Problem: after some time the Values of "Last Polled at" and "next Polled at" will be not correct displayed. When we do a "Rediscover Now" then it will be correct displayed for a short time. We have registered this Problem not on all Devices. I am not able to see the whole URL, when i do the association between manil notification and URLs. These are things that i did, 1) we created a e-mail notification. consider it is named as NOTIFY1 2) went to maps menu --> server. 3) clicked a server 4) selected notification profile tab in the bottom of the page. 5) selected the NOTIFY1 profile and pressed next button (we want to associate this email profile to a url) 6) click the [selected...] URL monitor is down link 7) it displayed all the URLs
OpManager 6 Database - Reduce size?
Hi, I'm runing build 6015 and my database has reached almost 20GB. I have changed my settings to the following: Maintain 10000 recent alarms in the database. Delete events older than 30 day(s) in the Database. Detailed statistics will be maintained for the last 15 day(s). Hourly statistics will be maintained for the last 45 day(s). Daily statistics will be maintained for the last 45 day(s). This is fine going forward, but how can I get all the old stuff that was already there out of the database?
I can not see SNMP monitors
Hi All, I have noticed that on some servers I can not add SNMP monitoring for CPU, disk utilization, free disk space, memory utilization. SNMP is working OK on these servers. The strange is, that when I am trying to add monitors for server there ar no SNMP 'option' for these 'performance' monitors, they are showed only in WMI version. Monitoring servers are Windows 2003, OpManager 7021, Professional. Regards Slawek J-G.
Read-only or full access is only editable when creating user
If I create a user and then go back into the user manager, I cannot see if that user was setup as read-only or with write access. The 2 options are gone. It is only visible when creating users. Shouldnt it be visable afterward ?
Watchguard OID clashes with Linux OID

I consistently get alerts from a couple of routers, and these alerts dont mean anything to me..any idea why they appear or how to turn them off? Performance Monitors sometimes show value 0
Hi Dears! I've been some problems in Memory Utilization with CLI Protocol. Sometimes, test monitor shows up 0 and other times it shows up the correct value. In /etc/ssh/sshd_conf, I added this parameter thinking this is will solve the issue, but it doesn't work. ClientAliveInterval 0 I attached a print screen of the problem. Do you have any idea to solve this issue? Tks so much!
Monitor Cisco 837 ADSL Usage
I have setup Op Manager and configured it to monitor a Cisco ADSL 837 router that has a permanant VPN to our site. It seems to be monitoring cpu, memory and the interfaces ok, except it isn't showing me what I expect for my usage of my DSL line? Which interface should I look at to monitor the DSL connection? ATM0? Should I change it so it also reflects the correct speed that it has negoatiated? Op Manager shows it as 1mb up and 1mb down whereas I see it has negotiated 8mb down and 1mb up.
Traffic Utilization Percentage on Switch Interfaces
With version 6, you could monitor and set the threshold for monitoring the Percent of bandwidth each interface was using. Since upgrading to version 7, that has gone away. Is there traffic monitors to monitor, set the threshold, and alert for each interface? All that seems available is a monitor for bits per second. I need to know when an interface is using more bandwidth than it should. Say an interface is running at a gig, I don't care how much bits it's sending, I want to know how much bandwidth
"no data available" message when creating reports
Hello, i am having some problems in creating some monthly reports with OpManager7. A recieve the message "No data available", but only when I want to create Device Reports by: -CPU Utilization -Disk Utilization -Memory Utilization Also when I create the Servers Health Report, Only the Availability section graphic is displayed. While the other sections are with the same message "No data available". This problem message is shown for the reports created for the periods from the middle of November 2007
set delay between email alerts
Hi, Is there a way to set the delay for email notifications? For instance, an option to set each monitored device to send alert emails with a 1 minute pause in between emails as to not spam the mail server in certain situations. Thanks. thuynh
MSP: Installation of Probe on Server 2003
Can anybody confirm that MSP Probe will work on Server 2003. Seem to work fine on XP after we had Major problems with Vista but customer only has server 2003 available.
Threshold does not clear for custom monitors
Hello, I configured few custom monitors using SNMP, they all seems to be properly collecting the data. The threshold i configured are with < > (not = which works good) so when it reaches the threshold value it raises the alarm but when it reaches the Rearm it does not clear it. Please help, Lahav

MSP: Custom Reports
I need to be able to generate a report on the 1st of every month for customers that shows Disk\CPU\Network activity in a fancy graph format. I can do this manually via custom reports (would be nice to have the option to have a graph for each hard disk instead of all crammed into one graph) Unfortuantly I cant create a scheduled report that gives me this info. Good Day, For my firewall I have created a new Device Template, I am looking to monitor the CPU, in the MIB browser it responds ok, but when I add the custom monitor it does query's a 0. I think I just need to remove the "0" from the OID. Where would the file listing this be for custom monitors? For he life of me I cannot find it.

Custom Printers report - Which tables do I have to query?
Hello, I have around 25 printers monitored by OpManager. Monthly I need a report of all the pages printed by each printer. (all the printers already have the "Pages Printed" peformance monitor sucecssfully collecting this data) My question is how to report the current value of the "Pages printed" for all of them? I tried with custom report but I'm afraid is not posible. Now I'm trying to build a 'm Crystal Reports to do it but there are to many tables in the database and I could not see the one containing
Unsolicited Alarms, Monitor AS400, HP Printer Name
Hi guys, I am new to opManager plus using SNMP and I am going through trying to set it up to monitor the devices on our network. I have a few question that I hope you guys can answer. 1) I have alarm messages in the unsolicited traps and I dont understand how to turn these into proper traps. 2) I am trying to monitor our AS400 but whenever I go to test credentials it always fails when testing the CLI yet I am using the qsecorf credentials so there should be no problem with authority. Any thoughts
