problem with availibility graphics
Hi, I have problem with version 8022 of OpManager. when I add a monitor the monitor graph appears diponibilidad unmonitored cone also shows no such report. These monitors are already installed 3 days and still shows nothing. Note: This installed with a MSSQL database What can I do? Thanks
Standby server have no access to primary database
Hello, I've recognized the following issue a few times, after a fresh installation of OpManager 8022. Setup is as follows: Server1 has a fresh OpM primary installation. Server2 has a fresh standby installation. DB replication from Server1 to Server2 works perfect. But replication mode of MySQL database doesn't work fine if you start the servers, because Server2 has no permission to connect to MySQL database on Server1. You can solve this problem by adding user account manually on Server1 with the
OpManager snmp failing to query a Linux box.
I'm the Linux admin, and want to make sure I have the Linux box set up correctly to allow OpManager (which is running on a Windows box) to poll/query the Linux box. snmp reports that it's running correctly:[root@tcohepc151 snmp]# ps -ef | grep snmp | grep -v grep root 1541 1 0 Sep20 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/snmpd -Lsd -Lf /dev/null -p /var/run/snmpd.pid -a and the snmpd.conf file is one that I've used successfully on other boxes. Any ideas on what I've missed?
VMware ESX monitoring questions
Hi, Is it possible to suppress/configure alarm of type "The virtual machine <...> is powered off." in ESX monitoring ? Second question : When I migrate a virtual server from one ESX host to another the virtual server is always dispayed under the source ESX host in OpManager Is there a way to automatically update the list of virtual machine registered to an ESX host in OpManager? Editing Business View Background
Hello, if I want to edit the background image of a business view, I double click in the editor. After that, a dialog should come up, but what happended is, the editor crashs. After I double clicked, no editor button works anymore (the whole flash plugin crashs). Any idea, how to solve this problem and be able to change business view background again? Best regards Philip

Intermittent: Invalid State / Connection object is closed, when attempting to view Alarms
Frequently in the current version of opmanager, I'm encountering the error pasted below, when I go to view Alarms. When this ocurrs there are no TABS available to click, so I must click my explorer BACK button and re-click the ALARMS tab. Just a moment ago, I encountered the error 4 consecutive times, and on the 5th attempt, I was able to view active alarms. What could be happening? How can we fix or troubleshoot this problem? Problem with Probe
Hi all I'm having an odd problem with a Probe for one of my clients. Well two problems actually, though I'm not sure if they are directly related or not. First - the probe does not seem to be detecting all the devices on the client network. The site has 6 servers and 40+ desktops and yet the first time I ran the discovery it only picked up 20 devices. So I ran it again and it picked up two more. Now I have started the network discovery something like 10 times and it is up to 27 devices and it
Deleting older backup files
Hello, We have been using Opmanager now for some time and things have been going well generally. We run the X:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\OpManager\bin\backup\BackupDB.bat file each night in a Scheduled task and backup these files to SAN/Tape. One thing that we have noticed though is our X:\Program Files\AdventNet\ME\OpManager\backup directory has grown to a considerable size. We have manually deleted backups older than about a month but this is easy forgotten and blows out our backup window. Is
Problem with DC - OpManager
Hi, I seem to be having an issue with one of our domain controllers in OpManager. For some reason, the memory utilization dial and AD store dial constantly revert back to No Data Available. If I look down at the monitors, both of them say N/A. On the DC in question, the NTDS.Dit is not on the C drive, it’s actually on another (S drive) partition. When I enter the new path, I have to enter it like this: S:\\Windows\\NTDS\\NTDS.dit I click on ok but then have to go back and edit the monitor

I'm going to try this in the forum. We are in the latest verion of opmanager, and it has stopped monitoring Availability. I jus has a blue graph, and if you hover onit i says "not monitored". This is critical for reports the we need to produce. Thanks,

Is the ICMP poll interval for devices same as SNMP monitoring interval and where is settings for ICMP polling interval for device? I cannot find that settings in opmanager user interface. Thanks in advance!
Failed to establish connection with web server
Hi friends! I have a problem in OpManager Enterprise 7 probes and central. When I try to start Opmanager server, appears the follow error: "Failed to establish connection with web server. Gracefully shutting down OpManager." Read other topic, I found a solution only for OpManager 8, but not to OpManager 7 Enterprise. The OpManager 8 have the Apache Service, but The OpManager Enterprise 7 don't have "Apache" folder in "AdeventNet/ME/OpManager/".... this folder and the StartWebSvr.sh file not exist
netflow plugin+ssl
I installed opmanager and netflow plugin. Everything worked fine util apache ssl instalation according to link: http://support.opmanager.com/sd/AddSolution.sd?solID=22801 Afther that all page works fine except netflow pages. When I tray to open "NetFlow modules" appears "Security information" windows with informations that page contains secure and nonsecure items. When I click on Yes appears "Page cannot be displayed" page:(. Is there some configuration for this issue to start work properly?
error after losing the connection to the MS SQL SB

Hi , I'm new to using Opmanager, I am wondering if it is possible to have an email sent to me daily with resource statistics and memory usage, also an alarm emailed to me if resource usage becaomes dangerously high? Running OpManager on Win2k3 server. When I want to go and add another windows service monitor, I get to the page that wants the server name. I add the ip, then user, I ad administrator, then password, which I supply. When the system finishes it returns an error: Error # The RPC server is unavailable. Anyone know what I am missing here.?

using disk treshold alarm for SAN-based disks on servers
Hi, when i try to add the Partition Details of the Device monitor on a main server that we have that has a lot of san-based disks attached to it, the only disk i get up and that i can monitor is c: wich is the only local disk on the machine. How can i monitor the san based disks?
Restoring from a backup in 8022
Hi, I am having the following issues on opmanager after upgrading to 8022 1. I made list view as the default view in the dashboard.however now when i try to revert back to get the map view as the default I cannot do so. Is this a bug within 8022?? if not how can i revert back to map view. 2.I had taken a backup using the scripts backupDB.bat,backupConfFiles.bat, and BackupDb_Config.bat.However now when i try to restore using restoreDB.bat. it gives me the followin error. Failover - failback?
Hi, I have OPManager running in a failover configuration using the built in mysql database. The failover itself worked fine but when the primary server came back online both servers now think they are the primary. I've done some testing adding a different device to each server and neither of them appear in the other server. It looks like they are running independantly of each other, is there something that I need to do to get them back in hot standby mode? Thanks, Gareth

I've Linux RedHat Version and OpManager8 in root. First of all, I need to apache before install OpManager or so. Or OpManager8 built-in apache. Next, I try to execute OpManager in <OpManager-Home>/bin but it's create the table and process until it alert the message like this "Failed to establish connection with web server. Cannot add new CCTV
Hi, I am trying to create my own CCTV view with just the Business View and list of alarms, however when I try to do it, I am unable to add a new CCTV view. It just not not show the new CCTV view in the list of CCTV views. It however does not throw and error while adding it. Am i missing out on any setting that needs to be done prior to adding a new CCTV view. Do let me know. Thanks, Renita

Hi, I wonder if there is any visual indication, if OPM is running in active or standby mode? When I start both servers, the green task icon is shown, regardless of the condition in which the server is. I see that in the OpManager/images/ folder are different "logo16x16_xxx.png" files in gray, green and red. Maybe this would be a nice visual indication. Best regards Philip

Custom snapshot dial for Dell Poweredge 2950 disk status?
Hello, Is it possible to have a custom snapshot dial, that displays the disk status like in Dell OpenManage below: So it would display the disks and then either a green, amber or red light depending on the status? Or something similar to this, that will allow better visibility of when a disk reports an error. I have setup a custom raid status monitor, and currently recieve a status of 3 (OK). Thanks, Jack.

Socket time out on Opmanager startup.
Hi, I tried a couple of times to install NFA Add-on to our Opmanager setup. I get the attached error message when I start up the opmanager server after installation. And on the NFA screens, all traffic is categorized "Unaccounted". Even after 2 days of running. I am using build 8022 of Opmanager and build 7700 of NFA (wich is strange since everywhere the website mention that the most up to date build is 7600...) Hi, I don't know if this is against your dashboard/business view concept but it would be nice if I can build links to other dashboards in a business view map. For example I have a map with all my locations. If I click on one of them I get to the dashboard and have a nice overview of the location.
