MSP: Detecting virus scanner version
OpManager MSP edition can scan a server and tell you what Virus Scanner is installed in that machine. By default TrendMicro, Norton, F-Secure etc can be detected. If you want to extend this capability and make it scan other virus scanners you can edit the file. Probe HTTP Proxy Username/Password
Hi, Got some customers with networks opened up to the internet using firewalls and http proxies. It should be possible to place a probe in these networks, but I saw that the http proxy configuration needs a username/password. Most of my customers do not use username/passwords with their http proxy. Can I use the proxy function without entering the username/password ? Please advise Sijbren

Scheduled downtime (per interface)
We're currently monitoring a router (main) which has a serial link connected to another router (branch) via a leased line. However, the branch router is turned off after office hours and OpManager is detecting that the serial interface (where the branch router is connected) on the main router is down. Any workaround?
Selecting Device Type failes.

MSP 6003 Build - Probe and Central do not match
Is there a way to rebuild the central DB? I have a probe which is working perfectly however the central system is missing devices and some devices do not show all information such as interfaces, or if the device has SNMP, etc. I would like to clear out the central system for that specific probe and allow the probe to rebuild the data. Ok, just ran into this problem today and I dont want to have to reloda OpManager to fix it so I am hoping that there is some easier rememdy to this. OpManager Annoyances
It would be so helpful if the following two things were addressed with OpManager 1. Make it possible to add/remove multiple monitors to/from multiple servers. In other words, replace the radio buttons with checkboxes. 2. Show the graph even when a SNMP poll is missed. It is frustrating to see "Data not available" because the server couldn't be polled for whatever reason. I should be able to see historical values.
Monitoring a tape back up process with Opmanager MSP
Hi Is there anyone out there who has had experience with Opmanager monitoring tape back up process using Arcserve or Backup Exec. Whilst we cant monitor the device or the software directly we are looking at monitoring the error codes that are written to the event logs by the back up software. We will essentially search for a few different error codes and then create a message based on the error codes. Does anyone have a better idea of doing this because our solution is not very elegant Thanks Jonathan

Hello, i'm setting up OPManager 6.014 and everything was fine until i try to monitor UPS. I have both APC and SOCOMEC UPS and i wonder if it's possible to have the same snap shot for all of them. I mean i'm having the good info for APC UPS, but just have "NA" or "DATA not available" for SOCOMEC ones. just succeeded in creating some customs graphs, but nothing that fits in this frame attached in jpg in this post. OPManager not working after upgrade
I have upgraded Opmanager from 6002 to 6013. In order to do this I had to install SP1 first, because I was getting "the hotfix can be applied only over 6010 build". After installing SP1, I installed the 6013 hotfix. Now the Opmanager service is missing from the windows service. Any suggestions? Thanks.
