Does HP Gbe2c switches support real time change detection functionality ??
I enable the real time change detection but the next message is displayed: Device(s) not supporting Configuration Detection through Syslog Then i use wireshark to capture incoming traffic and i can see the syslog messages arriving from my switch. What can i do?? thanks...........
HP GbE2c switch vs DeviceExpert
I'm trying to save the configuration file of my HP GbE2c switch but it not works. T try to connect via ssh and the loggin process is successful but appear this message: Credentials are valid. But the configuration file is not uploaded to the TFTP server. Then i access the device via putty and i execute the next set of commands /c/ptcfg <ipaddress-ExpertDevice> <filename> but it require user and password. I try with user=admin and passw=admin (wich ) but it not works. Why can i do????
can not backup devices
hi i have about 15 switches that i can backup some of them and can not backup most of them. those that i can not backup are viewable in console and when i click on the SSH or Telnet icon to connect i can connect to them but when i want to check credentials the process failed how can i solve this problem ?

Hi, I'm using Device Expert 30-day trail and trying to backup my ASA 5510. So I provided credentials and entered into the enable login mode successfully. But when I hit backup button in Actions menu I'm getting - Failure due to not supported commands. Also it says that operation timed out during transfer. Is there any way to increase time out period in Device Expert or may be change the commands for configuration backup? Also there is another issue. If I make any configuration changes the Changed

Custom Variables to push to multiple devices
Hey Gang, Say I have 7000+ switches that I want to add a new SVI to: int vlan 222 ip address 10.xxx.yyy.254 And I want xxx.yyy to be unique to each switch. Is there a way to: a) specifiy what xxx.yyy should be for each device? b) query that information from the device first, and then use that information in the variable? Using automated scripts or any other way to do this automagically? Thanks

Does Device Expert support IPv6 for accessing Devices (via SNMP and SSH) as well as Devices with (extensive) IPv6 configuration? If not, when is it planned?
Syslog Forwarder
Hi, I try filter syslog messages on Kiwi Syslog server before resend to DeviceExpert. But DeviceExpert not sense forwarded messages (with and without filter). Direct syslog from ASA is working (detect online changing) but overflowing DeviceExpert's buffer . What syslog products with filter option were tested as forwarders to DeviceExpert? Thanks.
False Reporting in DeviceExpert
Hi, I am evaluating DeviceExpert and have a question about false reporting. I have 3 devices showing as not in sync. When I click on Show Diff, the differences I see for each device is: "Building configuration..." on one device "key PASSWORD" vs "key ******" on another device "--More-- !" on another. All, obviously, differences that should not be included in either config and only show on a console print. All other devices show in sync and fine. Any idea why this false reporting is happening?
Backing up HP 6120xg blade chassis switch
I am unable to backup my HP switches. I need "oobm" added to the end of the tftp command do that it uses the out of band interface to send the configuration. Like so: copy running-config tftp 2.2.2.2 filename.cfg oobm The script currently only uses: copy running-config tftp 2.2.2.2 filename.cfg How can I edit the script or use an alternate backup command?

I'm managing a few hundred CPEs which reside inside Cisco VRF's without any internet connection whatsoever. I think this request is self explanatory, but I want to be able to manage multiple customers configs on a single server, but have the same separation, groupings, roles, and concepts as Desktop Central MSP. What is the difference between the Switch Port Mapper feature available in DeviceExpert and the one available in the IPAM plugin? I tested the SPM in IPAM and it worked great, but ultimately we did not purchase the IPAM plugin. I recently found the SPM feature available in the DeviceExpert/NCM plugin that we own. I attempted to use it, but it doesn't seem to work, or at least it doesn't work the way the SPM worked in the IPAM plugin. I don't get IP addresses, MAC addresses, or DNS names for the

Opmanager 10100 - unable to connect to NCM plugin
I'm using my own cert to SSL opmanager (build 10100). Works fine with opmanager, and oputils6 plugin (IPAM & SPM). But I have not been able to access NCM, since the upgrade. Here's what I've tried. Fortigate change detection
Device Expert is reporting config changes to my Fortigate firewalls when no changes have been made. The change is almost always with encrypted passwords which are very long, it seem to have something to do with the line wrap between the two configurations being compared. Device Expert does not send email notification after sheduled backup
Hi, I am using Device Expert ver. 5.5.2, Device Expert is integrated with AD. and application running without any problem for two years until last 10 days. I have scheduled backup every day and I set up sending email upon finishing schedule, but, last 10 days, that does not work. Confgiguration are backuped, but i did get email notification with changers. We are change email server, and In "Mail Server Settings" is everything OK, and test passing without any problem. Can you help me, please.
nsconfig folder on netscaler
Is it possible to backup entire folder nsconfig on a netscaler? Right now it looks like DE is only backing up the ns.conf file and our support vendor said we should be capturing the entire directory. thanks

Auto remediate after compliance check fail
Is there a way for Device Expert to automatically remediate issues identified with the compliance check? e.g. Compliance check identifies a router hasn't got the correct banner - is there a way to auto-mate it to log onto that specific router and remove the incorrect config and replace it with a predefined correct template?
