Policy to Restrict changing IE7 home page.

Is there someway to get a report available that lists both computer name and IP? I've looked through the various reports but I don't seem to be able to find one that provides that information. I know DC has that information at it's disposal. If such a report was available (AND able to sort by IP), it would provide a benefit to me by allowing me to capture that information and then create DC groups based on IP (a feature that has been requested by others and myself). Would like to have an alert set up for servers...email out of information like low hard drive space, server up or down, low memory, and other.... Software Deployment
I am trying to deploy a small software package via Desktop Central. For the "Target" I am using IP addresses - each separated by a comma. There are several IPs - 10.10.10.75 through .254. After it installs the first one, it shows "Executed" even though it is still in progress. Once it fails on one computer, however, it shows a Failed status and stops (so it appears) the Configuration altogether. My network is one domain consisting of several subnets, but all of the workstations are in one OU. Since
office 2007 service pack 1
I tried doing a report issue on this but I don't think it went, after entering code page led to a blank page. version 60207 does correctly identify needed office 2007 patches, but it does not detect that service pack 1 has NOT been applied. I tested this on 2 new xp pro setups today. since sp1 addresses most of the items shouldn't it offer this? after wsus applied sp1 DC does report it as being installed though, so that is good. since I did apply sp1 I don't think there are any logs that will help
60207 version agent question
does the agent need to be updated after updating to the 60207 version?

computer disc reports
version 60207 disc summaries page shows multiple entries for each client, and most of them are way off on drive space. for example a laptop with 40gb drive shows 293 gb total space with 171 free, and its listed twice. is this reading mapped homefolders from AD ?
database location question
on previous versions wasn't there a way to manually choose the database location (drive) during install? or am I getting mixed up with some other AdventNet program. I'd like to place the database on a mirrored array. thanks.
last scan not complete messages-patch management
for last 2 days every system (server 2003 and xp pro) is showing no patches listed due to last scan not complete message. all are scheduled to scan every day so I know its been done, on a brand new xp sp2 (nothing else installed) install I manually scanned it and still get this message. I thought it may have been a time issue so I waited 24 hours, same issue. the new xp sp2 system is missing ALL patches/hotfixes so it should flag it. I'm rebooting the server now, if that does not rectify it what
WSUS Versus Desktop Central Patch Update
I am currently using the Desktop Central demo with two test Windows XP workstations. The features offered for remote management are great, but I have concerns regarding the patch update feature. I realize that not everything microsoft releases via Windows Update is required to keep a system secure and that appears to be the focus of the patch management feature in Desktop Central. Immediate Push of Software
I have been testing Desktop Central for the software Deployment aspect and is there a way I push out softare on the spot? The options show During or After Startup. What if I put a package together now and decide to push it to 5 machines that are already on? Do they have to reboot to start the install?
Is there anyway to schedule a service Pack install
I want to start rolling out XP service pack 3. going to do it in thirds. the problem is I cannot seem to find where I can schedule it. I can schedule other patches but I cannot seem to find where to do it with the SP. any recommendations would be great.

WSUS vs DesktopCentral Patch management
I've been noticing quite a few (don't have list on me) patches that DC states is critical and needed that have been deployed through WSUS. I verify this (after checking the WSUS status) by trying to reinstall the patch, so far they always come up as repair or remove. why is this? is it related to how WSUS deploys/names the installations?
SOM - Install Agent through AD

Report Flexibility
The reporting feature is decent, but we require more flexibility in choosing the types of fields and ranges to generate reports relevant to our needs. For starters, it would be helpful to be able to select service tags and serial numbers as a field for the reports. Unable to connect to domain
I just installed Desktop Central using the installation section in the User's Guide. I installed it on a Windows 2003 Server with the latest updates and joined to our AD domain. When I log into the web console, it see's our domain under Scope of Managment, Add computers. It does not list a domain controller though. I clicked on Edit for the domain listing and typed in the required information. The window hangs their saying Updating. I have left it for 5 minutes with no change and finally clicked
Alternate Port
After installing the latest hotfix the "Web Console" icon that is in the system tray where Desktop Central Server is installed cannot connect to the server. During initial installation I had specified a different port for Desktop Central to use as we already had another application on that server that used the default 8020. So I set Desktop Central to use 8030. Well after the update it looks like it reset that service back to the default 8020. I can still get to it by opening up a browser and pointing

On PDF report missing month in date format
On report in Desktop Central complete date format is visible (month,date,year,clock), but in PDF report month is missing. In Desktop Central month is in cyrillic format. Hi, While taking the control of user's System the machine gets stuck(Hang) and it takes long time to refresh the page While searching System's the option got automatically disappear and system hangs and come back to previous page. I am evaluating desktop central. I am wanting the software installation part. I am curious how the software installation works. I have a WAN which is not the fastest thing in the world. Does Desktop central us BITS or some other trickle download. I dont want to bog down my WAN.
Remote Control Quick Launch
Is there any way to establish a "Remote Control" sessions without that "Quick Launch" bar popping up? I do not see any options to disable it, just to disable prompting the user for authorization. Thanks for any info.

I am trying to set the email setting for the help desk section in admin. it doesnt seem to like my settings. I find this very strange since I am using the exact same settings for alerts and these are delivered without issue. Is this fucntionality 100% or is there a fix in a future release? Thanks
Inventory Scanning RPC Unavail.

I can deploy the agent and establish a connection with Remote Control just fine (to all systems), unfortunately on quite a few of my systems however when I kick off an Inventory Scan I get the "RPC Server is unavailable" message.
