Hi, I have been getting responses to application, patch and feature requests, from the DC team, stating that they can't address these requests as they "are working on a major framework change, Once it completed we will start working on the feature request for Mac"? Architecture to Inventory
Have a structure to your inventory of computers that mimics AD or can be customized. You can filter by group but only static group but not dynamic group. Even filtering by dynamic group would be helpful.
File manager sort by modified time
I just noticed that if I use the file manager to see a computers files that if I want to sort by modified time it does not sort by year but by month. .Is this how it should work? If so could it be changed to date modfied so that it sorts correctly by date and time? Attached is a screenshot of how it is sorted by modified time.
Computers with/without a specific Software
Hi, I would like to suggest a change to the way the Computers with/without a specific Software report is displayed. Currently when you select a product from the list the only thing it shows are the machines the product is installed on, with the OS type and version. This is a bit limiting since there is no way to tell exactly which version of the requested software is installed, yes the option to select a version is there, e.g., Office 2007, but that does not tell you the patch level. Reduce Firewall Ports to TCP 443
Do you plan to reduce the needed ports? We have some Enterprise customers which have large networks and it is very difficult to get firewall exceptions for all these ports? It would be great to work only over HTTPS so there is no need to open new ports.

Desktop Central Agent for Windows RT tablets

Feature Request: OU picker and displaying time
We just switched to DC for our patching needs. I wanted to recommend two quick (and hopefully easy) changes that would greatly enhance the product! First - display the server time on all the pages, not just when you're scheduling a configuration. Feature request/enhancement: Manage DC Agent Settings by groups...
Hi, I would like to be able to have the DC Agent behave differently according to the different types of system on which it is installed. i.e. On office bound desktops I don't want users to interact with DC at all, so I don't want the agent tray icon to be displayed. However, for laptop users and servers, it would be more useful to have the agent tray icon displayed. Is this currently possible? If not then please add it as a feature request/enhancement for the product. Thanks, David.
User Profile Specific Software installs (Chrome, Dropbox, etc)
According to this post, it was expected to have User specific software (software that installs into the user's profile rather than other common locations like Program Files) would be available in software inventory by Q1 2013. This is becoming an increasing issue for us, especially with Dropbox. Is there an update to the status of this critical feature?
Feature Request - mass editing of scheduled deployments
It would be nice to be able to mass edit scheduled configurations. For example, if we have 10 scheduled deployments for 2nd Friday, and we wish to change them all to 3rd Friday without editing each one individually.
Feature Request - advanced scheduling
Microsoft and Adobe release on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, so we prefer to run our DC configurations on the following Friday. However, there is no guarantee that this will always be the 2nd Friday. If the first day of the month is a Friday, then our desired deployment date would be on the 3rd Friday of that month. We would like the ability to schedule deployments for "the Friday following the 2nd Tuesday of the month." Thanks!

Are there any plans to release a version of Deskop Central that can run on a Linux server? That is, DC on a Linux server that serves Windows clients? This would certainly save the cost of a server-class version of Windows.
Windows 8 support ?
Our software developers are beginning to test their products on Windows 8 so although our company as a whole is not going to migrate to Windows 8, there will be some machines with the new OS on them which we want to patch with DC. When will DC officially support Windows 8 ? I have a test machine showing 25 patches need to be installed but when I go into the details of that machine it says it needs a scan. Deployment of software seems to work though.
