Deployment Policy updates in latest hotfix

Deployment Policy updates in latest hotfix

I recently updated to 9.2.79.  I brought this up during a chat but didn't think i was able to explain it well enough with out screen shots.

In this update there is a new feature under deployment settings call "Preferred Week(s) for deployment.

In the below example i have selected to deploy my configuration on the Monday of the first week of the month.

The problem is, and this may sound simple but hear me out, is that it is not defined what a week is. There are several possible answers here and i don't know what is correct.

it could be the first week in the calendar?

In this example the job would not deploy because there is no Monday for the month in the first week of Dec. If you go by calendar weeks.

You could go by Sundays.

In this example the first week would actually start on the 4th and this job would deploy on the second calendar week.

You could go by Mondays, as an example. In this example the job would have deployed in the first calendar week and on the first of the month, assuming this was looking for a week starting on mondays or the first calendar week.

You could sync it up to Microsoft who goes by Tuesdays. Which to me makes the most sense

I suggest syncing to Microsoft's idea of Tuesday because as it stands today its the only way to be consistent when deploying a patch deployment configuration beyond one months time.  In the below example the first Sat after Patch Tue is actually the second Sat.. You could set up a config with "second weeks" and "Saturday deployment"

However if a month does not start on a Tue the second tue can look like this. In this example you can see this patch window is before patch tue so no patches would have been deployed.

So can you define what Manage Engine sees as a "Week" and does my suggestion of following Microsoft's lead on using Tue as the first day of the week make sense?
