How to determine if a specific configuration has been applied to specific computer
Currently the only way to see which configurations have been applied to a specific PC is to look at the Execution Status for each Configuration. I would like know if there is a way to look (from the user and/or PC perspective) what has been applied for that PC/user)
Would like to group Configurations into folders or a folder hierarchy
All of the configurations are now bunched together in a big list. I would like to be able to graphically group them to categorize those that I apply to all PC's vs those I use on occasion for specific settings on specific groups.
Trying to push a script that writes to registry. Works when I run locally, not when I push via Desktop Central
Hello, it seems like whenever I try to push a script to somebody, and it doesn't matter if it's a batch file or VBScript, it never makes the change to the registry. It works when I run the script right from their machine, but I need to be able to push this using desktop central. Here's the script I'm trying to run. cant upgrade agents after 91110 upgrade - error 1603
After 9.0.1.110 update agent are not updating. Log on client show this error : "MSI (s) (84:F8) [19:27:20:725]: Windows Installer installed the product. Agent Popup
Is it possible to set the progress bar to actually be representative of the current action. eg if downloading a file show the actual status of the download. At the moment it just keeps cycling through it showing no useful information. Also is it possible to show a custom message to the user from the configuration instead of just the deployment policy? It would be nice to tell the user this configuration contains an update to X and not just the standard message. Thanks Andrew
Desktop Central Setup
Hello All, Sorry for being such a newb, but I was wondering if someone could point me to some instructions on setting up the Desktop Central Client etc? I'm told that I could potentially setup the client install on each of my SMB Business Clientele machines (6 different LANs) and then use the "Web Console" to manage them all, regardless of the fact that they're all different customers and exist on completely different LANs. Anyone feel like doing me a solid and dumbing this down a bit for me? :-)
Telecommuting staff monitoring and services with DC professional
What is the best way or architectures to support our telecommuting staff? Do we need a distribution server? or can direct connect (https) handle 150 plus users that are remote? I need the same functionality for the remote users that I have with the LAN users. Is the WAN client available with the professional version or will we need to upgrade? I would like to hear/ see how other cutomers' have this configured.

web interface not reachable after adding SSL
Hi, After we activate and installe the SSL certificates in the settings of Desktop Central the page will not load on port 8120 (http) or 8122 (https). The service is running at both ports. Even when we change the ports we still have this problem (we also try to login on the server it selves/so no firewall problem) Is there a solution to remote/change the settings off SSL certificates? It's installed on Microsoft 2008 server, iis 7.5 Or an otherway or solution to fix this so we can login to Desktop

Hi, in my company a need to have one configuration based per user and comp. I don't wish to have two configuration one per user user based one for computer becouse if something have to stop how it will impact in two configuration. Is it possible when somebody's usb is blocked and when he put USB stick in pc he got a pop up message "You are not allowed to have .... contact please..." When i put new user in usb_allow_grp will it automaticly in 90 minutes be allowed even configuration was deployed before
DC Shortcut, "Icon File"
We are trying to learn how to use the "Icon File" feature of the Configuration / shortcut creation. Our customer is requiring a specific icon to be displayed on shortcut creation. The help documentation indicates to "browse and choose" an icon file, but this is not possible. How can we use this "Icon File" field to upload and display a specific icon for the newly created shortcut?

Hi, I'm trying to deploy a simple configuration - one that has worked before - just with different targets. It's a basic file copy configuration copying about 4 files. It is saying failed - error while copying files: the process is not in background processing mode. Any ideas as I haven't seen this one before? Thanks Eddy

2 Remote offices using the same distribution service
Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to have 2 different remote offices use the same distribution service? Example we have a office where the subnet is set for those computers to be under a remote office, but we don't have a distribution server there. We currently have this remote office using direct communication but this is not the most ideal as it will use more bandwidth going across the network than it would using a DS that is close to the remote office.

Trying to Add Network Shared Printer Configuration
I have been trying to add a shared network configuration and it appears that the Desktop Central server is not seeing most of the print queues that are published in the network. Is there a way to troubleshoot why these printers aren't showing up in the configuration?

How do I deploy MS Office templates to users with Desktop Central
We have several customized templates for MS Office, especially normal.dotx and normal.dotm for MS Word. Is there a way to deploy these to our users' default templates folder with Desktop Central. Configuration will not deploy if no profile is logged in
I'm preparing a major application upgrade configuration. The custom script config runs perfectly if the computer is on and anyone is logged in. However, I need to get it to run even if no one is logged into the PC. Is there an option that I'm missing? Also, will Desktop Central wake up a sleeping computer with WOL? I'm having issues getting it wake up our laptops even though they're connected via LAN. Thanks!

Automate Patch - Around Microsoft Official Date
It would be ideal to have an automated process to deploy Patches on the weekend after Microsoft official patch release date. Deploy these patches to our Test Group. Then the Week AFTER we deploy the same patches company wide. Currently your only process is to pick 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th Day of the month. Which does not work every month.
