Search button should not default to "Features and Articles"
It looks like your marketing department is taking over your UI choices, because it makes no sense for the main search button to default to "Features and Articles". The only thing I ever need to search for inside the application is computers.
Removing a computer from management
We have computers that are placed in storage for some reason or another and I would like to remove them from DC management until placed back in service. How do you remove a computer from DC management?
What have you done with SEARCH in version 10.0.179
Searching for specific computers is a constant task within DC. Now everytime I have to click to get a new page, change fromt articles to computers and then type the name. Am I doing something wrong? This way is not the way to everyday use. Thanks, Juergen

Hello, it seems to have a bug with the Copy folder to client machines option. The settings is not kept when save to draft, edit or copy a configuration. Steps to reproduce : Draft 1. Create a configuration with "Copy folder to client machines" 2. Save to draft 3. Open draft - the "Copy folder to client machines" is not chosen anymore Copy configuration 1. Create a configuration with "Copy folder to client machines" 2. Deploy configuration 3. Copy as new - "Copy folder to client machines" is not chosen

Computers by Disk Usage report issue
I've noticed an issue with the Disk Space Report. It appears to round up all disks space in to the report to a single entry. Now although this data is correct it's kind of potless. Here is a device Computer Name - Total Capacity (GB) - Free Space (GB) - Free Space (%) servername - 537 - 92 - 17 When investigating this device I've found that one disk has no space at all. Microsoft Patch Tuesday January 2018 updates
This month’s Microsoft Patch Tuesday security updates address 59 vulnerabilities, out of which 16 are critical threats and 20 can be leveraged by attackers for remote code execution. Microsoft has suspended updates for AMD processors after reports of Blue Screen of Death errors. Some antivirus programs also appear to be incompatible with these updates.
Move an installation from workgroup to Active Directory mode - possible/advisable?
We would like to deploy Desktop Central for a small setup, about 20/25 computers and a similar number of mobile devices. As we are moving to a domain environment but it is going to take a little longer, my question is: Could we install the product, start using it in a workgroup environment and modify the configuration later when the directory services are deployed?
Searching partial monitor serial numbers.
We currently have Desktop Central and Service Desk Plus, I am looking for some monitors, and would like to know how do we search for serial numbers of monitors connected to workstations. ALSO, I noticed that the serial number that shows on most of our Dell monitors are not close to what is written on the back. I guess the question is, how do we find the Dell service number or Express service code of the monitors in Desktop central also. Thank you
I would like to view/edit/add notes to the Summery information
Right now we are using desktop central to keep an inventory of our hardware, the issue that we have is we need info on the monitors, that DC does not pull correctly. so we are adding notes to the computers with the Dell monitor serial numbers (they use express service codes). With that being said, this is our issue. We can add notes, but they are really not viable easily. Attached are an example. MSP Integration with Zendesk AND Service Desk + when dealing with multiple customers
So this is a weird question. We use Desktop Central MSP and Service Desk + MSP. My boss saw that Zendesk can utilize Manage Engine via integration. We are not interested changing to Zendesk, rather we have a client who is in our Desktop Central MSP but uses Zendesk for their ticketing system. Apache updates on Desktop Central Distribution servers to remediate vulnerabilities
Do you need to rebuild the Distribution Servers, after you upgrade Desktop Central to a new version? I would hope that it would replicate down like SCCM. We are noticing some Apache vulnerabilities showing up on our scans, but they are only showing on the Distribution servers. Do they use an older version of Apache than the primary, and can we update them? We are using MSSQL on Server 2012 R2.
Software uninstall
I have been able to successfully uninstall a piece of software on an individual client bases but this software is also on all other computers in our company. Since I know the uninstall works successfully I would like to know if I uninstall all at the same time does it queue the uninstall for a machine that is currently not connected to the network? I am not using the configurations to uninstall the software but just the uninstall "trash can" located under Inventory > Software.
Deep Freeze?
Is anyone in the community using Deep Freeze? About 2/3 of our computers are using Deep Freeze and I would like to have a script using the command line options to unfreeze a computer before a patch is applied and then re-freeze the computer after the patch is applied. I know where to add a configuration script, but was hoping someone already had one available. Thanks!

Is there a way to configure DC to use WSUS as its source for MS updates?
We have our WSUS servers nicely "tuned" thanks to AdamJ ("Overdrive")'s phenomenal "Clean-WSUS" Powershell script, so superseded updates are purged *daily*. Office 2010 customized package
I have a custom install of Office 2010 that I built using the Microsoft Office Customization Tool. I uploaded the Office 2010 folder and added this switch: setup.exe /adminfile \\server\share\Office2010\Updates\setup.msp It continues to give me an error saying that the file could not be located. Ensure that application is installed
Hello, Is that possible to create a group of users/computers and assign application that must be installed on them? I know it`s possible to create a configuration for a group, and once PC is added to the group -> Configuration will be applied. But what if someone uninstall this app? Is there a way to force Desktop Central to install it again after it found that the application has been uninstalled? Thank You

Hi Team, Hope you guys doing good. Recently we gone through Audit & caught up in windows patching. It seems our device was not properly compliance. Currently we are using desktop central to pushed patches on endpoints. required your suggestion to create best Windows endpoint patching practice. Currently we used automatic scheduled deployment utility in DC, but systems are not properly patched up. For remote users we also enable NATING on DC server to access remote agent, but it wont work as usual.
Agent Installed remark colouring
I may already know the answer to this but why is the remarks for agent installs somethings red and sometimes black. See attached. I suspect the red remark means the device requires a restart but I'm not sure.
What's the difference between "Not Approved" and "Declined" patches
I see a handful of patches with a status of "not approved". I have not declined those patches. How did they get that status?

Hello, I've upgraded my MeDC server to build 10.0.149 and now about the half of my computers fails to scan assets (patch scan is working). Server is a Windows Server 2012R2 Clients are Windows 8.1 x64 Pro and Windows Server 2012R2 No problems on Windows Server clients Half of Windows 8.1 clients cannot scan asset, no details for failure, just scan failed. I cannot see any difference between a computer that can scan asset and one that cannot. I've been though client logs and I see no error except

We currently have two different manage engine desktop central servers on two different networks, i'm looking to combing them. Is there an easy to change the address the agents use to connect to the manage engine desktop central server and point them to the server in the other network?

macOS High Sierra - Desktop Central Web Clips (Webloc)
Have upgraded to macOS High Sierra and have been using Web Clips to map smb shares For example: smb://server.domain.au/Staff This used to work in previous versions of Mac's OS, when using Desktop Central. I have been using Web Clips to add to the task bar, and launch the above line. Now this does not work, and I now open up where the Web Clips (webloc) are stored. Thanks. :)
Wake on LAN not working
I can remote shutdown a computer but not wake up. When remote shutdown the computer completely powers off with the NIC light not blinking. According to the desktopcentral help I have read the NIC light should be blinking for wake on LAN to work. How can this be when the computer is completely shutdown ? According to Microsoft, Windows 7 & Windows 10 are designed to not work in this state (S5) and will only wake on LAN from sleep or hibernate, not shutdown, so I am totally confused as to how this
Desktop Central No Longer Deploying Autodesk Software
A couple weeks ago I set up packages in DC to deploy various autodesk software. Because autodesk creates silent install packages using .lnk files, and since DC can't handle .lnk files, I had to create a batch file that launches the .lnk file and silently installs the software. This worked perfectly until a week ago. Now, pushing the software doesn't seem to install the software unless I choose "install as" and then sign in with my network credentials under "run as user." DC - iTunes patch stuck
About a week ago, the new patch appeared in DC: 306388 - Update for Apple iTunes X64 (12.7.0.166) – two workstation is affected. (Windows 10 pro, x64) I sent the patch to workstations from DC, the install was succesfull, but the patch still showing missing. I uninstalled and reinstalled the iTunes on one, but the patch missing message reappeared. Regards,
