Desktop Central would not come up after changing the patch management store location
Followed the instruction to change the store location. Restarted the service and the Desktop Central would not come up. Event log shows Event ID 3299 The Apache service named reported the following error: >>> <Directory "//sunsydfs04/it2$/setup/"> path is invalid.

We are having an issue with one of our laptops. They are getting an application error event id 1000. Faulting application dcusb32.exe . Has anyone else came across this? We have removed Symantec Endpoint and installed Vipre anti virus. This laptop is running win xp 32 bit.

Manual scanning from workstation
Is there a way to force a manual scan from a workstation from the acutal computer so it updates the information on the server? I have the agent taskbar icon hidden though so you cannot click on it there. Is there something I can run from command prompt to force a scan? Regards Matt
Agent Installation
We have just purchased Desktop Central and I am trying to install the agent using SoM. I can only install one pc at a time. As soon as i try to import more than one pc at a time i get an agent install failure. "The network path was not found". I need to install on 5000 pcs and obviously cant do them one at a time. Problems With Remote Control

Getting logged out of ServiceDesk Plus after I installed Desktop Central
I just installed Desktop Central on the same server as our ServiceDesk Plus server. Using the latest version of both products. About every five minutes, I get logged out of SDP, but I remain logged in DC. Is this a bug or do I have something configured incorrectly? SDP uses port 8080 and DC uses 8020. Both use regular http. Patch pushes going through when none are configured.
I have no active pushes, nor automatic pushes. A new server that has been added keeps displaying this message. Attached are 3 jpg's of the areas in question. Where would this be coming from. It has a custom message (maybe from the preceding project manager) and somehow it was stored as I have not been pushing updates to servers at all.

Applying multiple Adobat Acrobat patches at once.
Until I build a new workstation image the one I'm deploying right now requires multiple Adobat Acrobat 8 Standard patches be applied. With Desktop Central scanning it only reports the next 1 patch in the chain. Which means scan, patch, reboot, scan, patch, reboot, repeat.... Multiple License Keys For Same Product
I am starting to get my company moving toward management of our licenses under Desktop Central. One of the issues we have had is ordering single-license copies of various software. When I attempt to Manage Licenses and add a new license for a product already listed in the License list, it overwrites the existing entry. How do I go about listing multiple keys in one line item? Am I stuck using the Comments field?
Mapping AD fields in Desktop Central
Is there a way to map AD fields (perhaps using LDAP?) to Desktop Central so they appear in Custom Reports? I'd like to be able to run reports that include data from Active Directory (beyond the computer name). Is this possible? Thank you. Ellen Jones

Column width
How do I expand the width of the columns. For example in the software repository list and in the software inventory lists, I have software names that extend well past the width of the column. Unfortunately, many of these software titles start with the same name and end with a different name, but in the list they all look the same. Very frustrating.
DC Agent Installations using IP Range
When we first installed the agent via the server, we selected a domain or IP range for the push. Now, we want to use that method again to install the agent on PC's in the domain, or same IP range, that do not have the DC agent installed. My question is .... if we push to a domain or IP range, what will happen to the PC's that already have the agent? Will it ignore those machines, or install over the existing agent? Undo a configuration
Hi DC, I have a problem: I tested a "message box" type configuration, programming it to be run at each login on a specific machine. It works perfectly. My problem is that I deleted the configuration that created this message box and now that I create a new configuration that is supposed to undo all message box, it fails saying that there is no pop-up window programmed (but in fact, the window clearly appears at each login...). Office 2010 deployment with Desktop Central
Following the white papers I have attempted to deploy Office 2010 in my Windows 2003 domain. I get a message that says the configuration has executed, but Office does not deployed nor does the old version get removed. it makes no deference what OS the client has. Nothing in the event logs. Machine does not register
Hi, I have a machine which was first added to Desktop Central under a different name, eg. name1 and has now been renamed to name2. In SOM it would show up as name1 in the incorrect site location to where it really is. To try to rectify this I attempted to add the machine using its current name, the AD scan found the machine and when I selected it and pressed ok the result showed as added, when I looked for the machine it was not in the SOM list. Desktop Central Best Practices?
We have a mixture of older Pentium 4 computers and newer. I setup an patch deployment for 18:00 and specify our power management software to wake the machines at 19:00. The theory is to start the patch downloading and then when the computer wakes up, install the patches. On some machines, this works great. we have just begun our eval of the desktop central, I was just curious if there is a way to view the license keys of the software packages installed in the software inventory? I noticed it shows OS keys on the computer info screen but seem unable to locate the keys for say word or adobe anywhere in the inventory. Thanks
