Desktop Central 8 with MS SQL Support Released

Desktop Central 8 with MS SQL Support Released

We are pleased to announce the general availability of Desktop Central 8. There are two major enhancements in this release:
  • Support for MS SQL Server: Desktop Central 8 supports using MS SQL server as the back end database for storing the configuration and data. While the customers can make use of their expertise in managing the SQL server, enhance their reporting capabilities by integrating with custom reporting tools and make use of its built-in backup policies, they can also expect an improved scalability and performance of Desktop Central. Existing customers can also migrate their data to MS SQL database with ease using our data migration tool.
  • Record Remote Control Sessions for Auditing: This is one of the important enhancement to address the compliance and auditing requirements of our customers. Customers will now be able to record every remote connections established using Desktop Central's Remote Control and make the recorded video available in the Web Console for future auditing.
To upgrade to Desktop Central 8, existing customers can download the Service Pack from our website and upgrade as per the instructions provided there:  http://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/service-packs.html
