Jboss listener port
Hi, I am evaluating the product for use at a customer's site and have the following question. We have multple jboss instances running (i.e. 8080, 8180 etc). It appears that the default listener port when defining a jboss monitor is 1099. I need to be able to specify this parameter. Is that possible? We are running jboss 4.02 Mike Hills
New installation
Need to reinstall the application to another server. Is there any way to transfer all the monitors to the new server. There is no need to keep the historical information. Thanks Peter.
Recover XP OS
A few days ago my pc was working fine, but now when I go to boot up it tells me that "\windows\system32\config\system" is missing or corrupt. The black screen tells you to reboot from the original CD select "r" for repair. Selecting "r" takes you to a Dos prompt and I don't know what to do at this point. I do not have the original cd. Please help!!!!
how to handle ip address changes?
Is there any method to handle the ip address changes of a server without losing any historical data. (other than to delete and recreate the monitor)

I have downloaded the trial version of the Manage Engine Software. I am hoping to be able to configure it to work with our existing application. If this is possible we would like to purchase a license. My main problem: is that I need to change the database being used over to Oracle, as this is what we are using for the rest of the application. JBoss service + Transaction Agent
Hello, I have successfully enabled Web Transaction Monitor in JBoss server when server starts up by the run.bat file, but in the case that JBoss is installed as a Windows service using the JavaService executable (as explained in JBoss wiki) how can we plug the transaction agent in the server? How much is too much? I'm running the AppManager 7.0.1 on a Compaq DL380 with with 2x1266MHz and 10GB memory. The O/S is Fedora4. The NIC is running at 100 full duplex, and my network guys were monitoring it and see less than 1% collusion rate - which they tell me is darn good. My problem is that the java process owned by the user running AppManager is using up on the average 95% of the CPUs. On the support tab the JVM Memory Information is: Total JVM Heap Size 99MB Used JVM Heap Size 36MB Free JVM
Same SNMP Trap Every 5 minutes
I am running App manager build 7102 SP 1.2. I set up an SNMP listener for authentication failure. I get the trap when I cause the failure to be written to the Security event log. The problem is that I keep getting that same trap every 5 minutes from then on (polling time). The only way to stop it is to stop the SNMP service on the server that is sending it. This happens on any windows server I trigger it from. Is there something that the server is looking for (a response) from the app manager server
WMI Authentication Thru A Firewall
I have opened up the following ports: TCP Port 135 (RPC) and TCP Port 445 (WMI). However, when I try to add a device using WMI, I see denies on random ports to the devices. I even went as far as to add the device after moving the App Manager to the same network (no firewall which works) and then back. As soon as I move it back, I get RPC server is unavailable when polling occurs. The denied TCP port numbers that I see are random (1087, 2403, etc). I need to know how I can force APP manager to use
jboss monitoring 'some thoughts'
we are a jboss shop and have made great strides using appman to alert and trend our application. There however some core jboss attributes i feel should come out of the box with out haveing to add a custom attribute ( is painful when haveing to add to 50+ jboss monitors ). 1. on the jbdc connection pool it would be nice if it showed the available connection count so we could alert when running out of connections in the pool. currently it shows in use and that is harder to alert on when you have many
nic utilization stats on win2k
is nic utilization in the roadmap for windows servers, if so when could i expect it? i find it hard to troubleshoot application performance issue's with out stats on the network utilization on the server. Application Manager doesn't run after reboot
I have installed the Application Manager on one of our spare servers and it has been working great. However yesterday I rebooted the server and now the Application Manager comes up with the Bug Reporting screen. I have tried submitting the bug report and also making a report to e-mail, but neither works. I just get brought right back to the bug reporting screen. I have tried clicking everything else to get past the screen, including cancel, with no luck. I am forced to uninstall the Application Manager

HI, I like the new feature added on Application manager to be able to add annotations to an alert. However I would like to be able to see the annotation on either the home page tab which lists out the alerts, and would be great if I can append the email action to show an annotation if added. What parameter or value would I use to add the Annotation the the email action?

HI, The number of tags that I can use on custom mail action messages are quite limited. Are these taken from the mysql database or defined elsewhere? I am trying to get a report to send to multiple email addresses daily, but once I have selected the report parameters I get into the "report delivery" section I select "new" and then put in "joe@email.com,mary@email.com" and submit but it tells me "Please check the address of the EMail-ID provided." Hi, I am getting "The RPC server is unavailable" error when trying to create Exchange Server monitor. As far as I can say, RPC server is running on the machine I'm trying to monitor, at least 'net start rpcss' command returns me 'the requested service has already been started'. Could you kindly advise me what I should do?
Monitoring single rows of SNMP Table data
I am monitoring a table of data using SNMP, and everything is working fine, except that when checking my thresholds, it seems that App Manager is picking a row out of the table randomly and checking that row each time the monitor updates. Is there a way to specify a row to monitor in a table, so that it always uses the same one? Thanks!
Disk Utilization not reporting correctly for 15TB available
I have a windows 2000 server set up for SNMP monitoring, it has a shared drive on it that is mapped to a storage array with 15TB of storage. The share has 689GB used on it. AdventNet Applications Manager is reporting that there is 0% utilization. hrStorageSize is a 32 bit counter, each increment of 1 is worth 4096 Bytes, and the max value is 2,147,483,647, which is equal to 8 terabytes. The counter value i am getting is - 154196237, so if you enter this into the equation ((2 147 483 647 - 154 196

Alerts for monitor groups
I am not able to receive alerts based on monitor group configuration only. As I don't want to receive alerts by individual monitors I am unable to get the monitor groups to send any alerts. Although the health and availability goes red in the HOME screen for the monitor group, the alerts that I have configured for them are not coming through. There are no alerts configured for the individual monitors. Any ideas? Thanks Peter

Do I need to install Agent before I can use App Manager?
helo ... i was told that OpManager does not require any agents and be able to discover the network by itself whereby Application Manager need to install an agent on the managed server before it can monitor the services (running in the managed server). Isnt that OpManager is superior in the sense that it faciliatate the installation and ease the load on the server?
