File / Directory Monitor - lack of file?
I'd like to verify that a folder is missing a specific file - if so, the monitor is successful. From what I can tell, the File/Directory Monitor looks for the existence of a file. Do I have to use a script for this?
Ping Monitor Issue
Hi, I'm trying the Applications Manager to monitor remote routers, using the Ping Monitor. I've got a few router ip's added as monitors. Most the time they respond as up, but every day I will get emailed saying something is down. On the next ping/email alert (15mins time) it will generally be up. Is there any options to say if it hasnt repsonded retry before marking the device as down, to stop these false reports. Thanks in advance
down time summary report
We're receiving a down time summary report from our management server. I can't find where to configure that. I know on the managed servers it's under enable reports, but that's not an option in the management server. It's not one of the scheduled reports. In fact, it's going to the mailbox we created for App Manager, but there's no Action created that sends to that address. Where can I configure that?
Query Monitor
Hi, Firstly, thank you, guys, for your great product. I have strange issue on one server with AppMonitor 8. I couldn't add custom Database Query monitor. When I create new monitor of type "Database Query Monitor" I see only two input fields: Display name and Polling Interval. There are no fields for database type, authorization and SQL text. When about 1000 MO's update occurrs about every 10secs, sometimes a few TopoActionListener.update call is rarely skipped.
In case that about 100 MOs update in short time(about every 10 secs), sometimes a few received update message rarely disappears. DB update always done, but update-method which is 'TopoActionListener' implemented class is not called rarely. if many MO calls 'updateObject' once in short time, then is it possible that TopoActionListener.update is skipped? I am pleased to wait somebody's help. I am sorry for my poor english.
URL match content is not working

Assign severities to specific job failures in MSSQL monitor
I'd like to assign different severities to different job failures for SQL Server. How about rate affected severities: e.g. If a job fails 1 time=Warn, 2 times=Minor, 3 times=Major, 4 times=critical Is this possible?
Excluding events from reporting
I need help configuring Applications Manager 8 so that it does not report all eventlog errors, such as failure to auto-create printers in citrix, as this is creating alot of false positives. Setting severity for health of MSSQL job failures
We have a massive amount of SQL jobs, some more important than others. I'd like to be able to set the severity of a failure based on individuals jobs rather than a catch all (CRITITCAL). Is this possible?

mangement server cpu stays high after upgrade
We upgraded to sp 6.10 the other day & since then the CPU on our management server climbs to 99% until we restart the service. Task manager shows java to be the issue. At that level the App Manager site is inaccessible and the reports don't run. I ran repairdb and optimizedb. We're on Windows 2003 sp2. The managed servers don't seem to be having a problem.

Hi, our customer wants to make to display only the window of the historical data from outside of the AppManager. If I catch the link of the seven day icon from the monitor's web page and put it to my own html page when I click on the link AppManager wants me to authenticate first. Is there any solution to authenticate in a hidden way or access this window without authentication? Add Apache Monitor - Thinks its IIS
Adding and apache monitor, whe I click on the "Add Monitor Button" it says "IIS server is discovered and added for monitoring " The URL is correct.. when I try port 80,81 and 443 it says the same thing... Any idea?
Alert/Action list
Is there a way to get a report/list of what actions coincide with specific alerts for all servers? I know you can look at them 1 by 1 in the Configure Alerts tab, but, besides that you have to click on every server (and we have a lot!), it doesn't include availability alert actions. We have a distributed setup & I need to move some monitors to another server, but don't want to accidently lose any notifications that are set up.

Hi I started exploring this applications for the last two days. a quick query, instead of showing all in category view for users, is it possible to show only used monitors example in mailserver mail server RTT custom monitors Files/Directories. Hi all I using the demo version of this application in last two days time Now when the user logs in. They could see all the categorical view page. Tomcat 6 crashes as soon as I get it started. Hi, I am trying to use the free edition or Profession Edition in Eval period and after installation when the app manager comes up, it gives an error ERROR CODE : 515::Invalid License File and some contact information of Advent support. It is needed to migrate an Admin server from an XP workstation to a Windows Server 2003. What are the requrements to perform this operation beyond the backup and restore of the MySql database? It is sure that the machine name and the IP address will be changed.

secure & nonsecure items-message is annoying, can we remove it?
I have an issue with IE6; when i click on the tabs in AppMan, i always get the windows-message that the page contains boyth secure and nonsecure items. i tried to fix this by lowering/ticking the relevant options in internet-explorer security options, to no avail (i tried everything, adding in trusted sites, lowering all the settings to low; the works.) I' ve noticed that Firefox does not have this issue; also IE7 does mention this once, but once we confirm the option the message no longer appears

Hello, I seem to be unable to uninstall your application. In the 'remove software' section on Windows XP i get: There is an error trying to remove this program. It seems it is allready uninstalled. Do you want to remove the application from this list? (I click no, because the application is still installed). dns cache in application manager
Hi, I have a problem with dns resolution in application manager. I have add a snmp monitor few weeks ago, and his hostname has changed, but in application manager it doesn't make the change and try to have information from the old hostname (ip address hasn't changed). Root cause in mail alert
Hi, Would it be possible to have a tree view of an alert root cause in mail sent by applications manager? When an alert is configured on a group containing sub-groups, we can't have the leaf reason of this alert (ie a tablespace warning on an oracle instance). Regards, -- Ali

I'm trying to add some JBOSS monitors and am getting the error: Server redirected too many times (20) I've tried it by IP and by DNS. I've successfully added other JBOSS monitors, including ones on these same servers.
