Customised monitoring
A couple of questions please.... 1) We have our own custom application which we need to monitor, we handle all code so can integrate a solution - my question is is it possible to customise within AppManager or must we write to the event log and create custom reports/alerts from this? 2) If it is the event manager solution, what is the lag from our application writing to the event log and AppManager picking it up and flagging as an issue? 3) Are you able to customise the way the dashboard and reports
String in Script Monitor
Hi everybody, Can you tell me the format of the data we can put in our output of script Monitor please ? Is it possible to put some blank caracters ? What is the maximum lenght for a string in an arry ? We try to buid array in the script monitor with a column with some string which have some blank caracters and perhaps too long. Nothing appears! Monitor HTTP Url Sequence still working after being deleted
Hello, To try some reponse time on some big forms I created a monitor "HTTP URL sequence" in category "Server/Webservices" So, every polling time, the form is posted and it work fine. This is awesome ! The problem appears after i deleted the sequence : this is still working ! After a server reboot, the problem appears to be solved. But you understand I cant reboot a webserver (in load balancing with another) every time I want to change my URL sequence in AppManager 8 Is there some know
Able to send mail or SMS using phone or Data Card
Hi All, This is a great product :) i am just evaluation it and while evaluation i feel 3-4 things, 1. Is there is any way if mine all network down even internet manage App Manage is able to send mail if i use (a)USB data card?? of it able to (b)send SMS to me on mine mobile number ??? (a) if it able to to use data card then how it able to auto connect ? because if Lan is down it should invoke some script which auto connect the Data card Dialer (b) If it is able to
Script Monitor on remote Windows server

Hi, Firstly, thank you, guys, for your great product. I have strange issue on one server with AppMonitor 8. I couldn't add custom Database Query monitor. When I create new monitor of type "Database Query Monitor" I see only two input fields: Display name and Polling Interval. There are no fields for database type, authorization and SQL text. I reinstalled the software to another directory and updated it, but without success. I know that it should work because there are no such problems on
When about 1000 MO's update occurrs about every 10secs, sometimes a few TopoActionListener.update call is rarely skipped.
In case that about 100 MOs update in short time(about every 10 secs), sometimes a few received update message rarely disappears. DB update always done, but update-method which is 'TopoActionListener' implemented class is not called rarely. if many MO calls 'updateObject' once in short time, then is it possible that TopoActionListener.update is skipped? I am pleased to wait somebody's help. I am sorry for my poor english.
URL match content is not working

Assign severities to specific job failures in MSSQL monitor
I'd like to assign different severities to different job failures for SQL Server. How about rate affected severities: e.g. If a job fails 1 time=Warn, 2 times=Minor, 3 times=Major, 4 times=critical Is this possible?
Excluding events from reporting
I need help configuring Applications Manager 8 so that it does not report all eventlog errors, such as failure to auto-create printers in citrix, as this is creating alot of false positives. mangement server cpu stays high after upgrade
We upgraded to sp 6.10 the other day & since then the CPU on our management server climbs to 99% until we restart the service. Task manager shows java to be the issue. At that level the App Manager site is inaccessible and the reports don't run. I ran repairdb and optimizedb. We're on Windows 2003 sp2. The managed servers don't seem to be having a problem.

Add Apache Monitor - Thinks its IIS
Adding and apache monitor, whe I click on the "Add Monitor Button" it says "IIS server is discovered and added for monitoring " The URL is correct.. when I try port 80,81 and 443 it says the same thing... Any idea?

secure & nonsecure items-message is annoying, can we remove it?
I have an issue with IE6; when i click on the tabs in AppMan, i always get the windows-message that the page contains boyth secure and nonsecure items. i tried to fix this by lowering/ticking the relevant options in internet-explorer security options, to no avail (i tried everything, adding in trusted sites, lowering all the settings to low; the works.) I' ve noticed that Firefox does not have this issue; also IE7 does mention this once, but once we confirm the option the message no longer appears
Uninstall ManageEngine Applications Manager 8 errors
Hello, I seem to be unable to uninstall your application. In the 'remove software' section on Windows XP i get: There is an error trying to remove this program. It seems it is allready uninstalled. Do you want to remove the application from this list? (I click no, because the application is still installed). I go to my start menu and look up applications manager 8, en click on the Uninstall shortcut. This gets me the following error: Directory Error! Uninstallation cannot proceed, the 'folder' directory
dns cache in application manager
Hi, I have a problem with dns resolution in application manager. I have add a snmp monitor few weeks ago, and his hostname has changed, but in application manager it doesn't make the change and try to have information from the old hostname (ip address hasn't changed). How we clean the dns resolution of application manager (as a flushdns in dns cache) ? Thanks. Bruno
JBOSS error
I'm trying to add some JBOSS monitors and am getting the error: Server redirected too many times (20) I've tried it by IP and by DNS. I've successfully added other JBOSS monitors, including ones on these same servers.

On point 4 of your SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT you say: Restrictions on Use: In addition to all other terms and conditions of this Agreement, you shall not: (i) install one copy of the Licensed Software on more than one CPU; How can I manage this one, since we only have 2 CPUs machines?
JMX attributes sorting
Kind Sirs, my applications are monitored using a monitor type "JMX applications". When I add the attributes, the order in which they are showed is not the one I would like to see. Is there any way to sort them? Thanks

Is there any restriction on the query that can be executed with a query monitor. For me a simple query works fine but when I add an AND condition to it it just doesn't execute, no errors . Pls help

Actions problem: an action update on ssh action, makes the action return error
Hello, here is what happens: 1. an Action is created, which is the execution of a script done via SSH. the action works 2. then the action is updated, changing the "abort after" parameter. 3. from then on the action returns an error saying "the specified directory is invalid". Best regards

History of Custom Attributes from JMX
I am tracking some custom attributes from my JBoss monitor. When I view the JBoss monitor page I see the current values of the attributes in a table and then below that I see what appears to the graphs of the last 6 hours of the attribute values. 1) How can I view a longer history of the attribute values? 2) How far back is this data retained? Which port have to be opened in the firewall
Hi, Can you give which port have to be opened in our firewall. I saw some communication between the appmgr and the server on the port 135. But after, there is some blocked communication (port 4690-4691-4692 etc�) between the server and appmgr. Could you give some help? J�r�me
