Customised monitoring

A couple of questions please....

1) We have our own custom application which we need to monitor, we handle all code so can integrate a solution - my question is is it possible to customise within AppManager or must we write to the event log and create custom reports/alerts from this?

2) If it is the event manager solution, what is the lag from our application writing to the event log and AppManager picking it up and flagging as an issue?

3) Are you able to customise the way the dashboard and reports are shown?
