Dear Appmanager Support, We are currently implementing the latest version of Application Manager into our enviromnent and one of our system engineers needs to know if it's possible to monitor Windows Scheduled Tasks. Custom Monitor Not Working Properly
I have several script monitors working properly running on remote Linux hosts. When I try to create a new custom monitor, to make setting up new hosts with this script monitor easier, the returned results from the script (which returns a set of numeric values following a delimiter of "=") all display as N/A in the webui. From what I can see in AppManager's logs, it looks as though it's returning the value correctly, as in just the same as the "vanilla" script monitors running on the same systems.
SNMP Disk Utilization Report Inaccurate
Disk Utilization in AppManager using SNMP appears to be inaccurate. We run several SNMP monitors on Linux hosts and generally the results displayed by AppManager in the webui graphs are off by about 5-10%. We try to keep these disks rather slim in size which means that the margin of error here is far too great to consider reliable for our needs. Even checking by hand with snmpwalk returns different results. How is AppManager checking disk space? Is there a way to change things so it reports back
Managing monitor attributes - thresholds and actions
Running Build 9005 Now that we have hundreds of monitors with thresholds and alarm actions. It has become hard to manage in regards to when someone in the group adds a new monitor and forgets to add the appropriate thresholds and actions. What would you recommend? Is there a report available for all thresholds and actions? Can we create a rule that triggers an alarm if a monitor is not setup correctly?
Custom Text Scheduled Reports
Hello Appmanager support, Another (small) question: Is it possible to add custom text to scheduled reports when sending them by email. I have tried to create an email action (with my text in it) but this won't appear on the report that has been send by that action. it will only work when eg. an alert raises the action. Too short $RCAMESSAGE?

It seems that the $RCAMESSAGE variable is too short for me and passes up to 355 characters, while my snmp trap is double at size. Disable Downtime Summary Report in App Manager Free Edition
A little while ago I installed App Manager 9. During the 30 day trial period, I enabled the Downtime Summary Report. The 30 day trial period has long since passed, and now I can no longer access the section where I enable/disable the report. I wish to disable the report - how can I do this given that access to the "Enable Reports" section is not allowed in the Free Edition. Cheers, Paul
MSSQL database removed alarm
One of the database in MSSQl deleted. But Applications Manager keep show alarm about database removed. How can I remove the alarm manuelly? Even I set as clear, and it will appear the alarm after few minutes.

Unable to install into x86 folder of Windows Server 2003 64-bit machine
I attempted to install AppManager into the standard c:\Program Files (x86)\ManageEngine folder on my server but it gave me the 'non english characters' error. Why isn't () considered english? I don't like having to install the program into the 64-bit Program Files folder since it's running in 32-bit. This needs to be fixed.
Disable Ping
It is possible to disable the ping in AppManager? I have several networks in my company and must of the connectivity from AppManager server to others server are available via firewall. The ping service is not allowed, is there a possibility to disable the ping? since in all my servers i'm receiving: --- 172.x.x.x ping statistics --- X packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 10001ms thanks
Unable to add a new Execute Program execution
Hi I created a Monitor for Weblogic server. After that configured a Alarm , for that weblogic monitor based on Heap size . After that Create a Action and tried to upload a vb script file . When i provided the path of my vb script file it is saying that The action has failed.Directory specified C:\Program Files\ManageEngine\AppManager9\working does not exist or is invalid Please let me know how to solve this issue ??
Modify users using a CSV, adding to groups goes wrong.
Using ADManager Plus, I imported groups into an OU, so far so good. Now I created a second csv, with the format: givenName,samAccountName,memberOf. No matter how I try to import this, I get an error. Tried Modify Users and Modify groups. The error I am receiving is: Error In Acessing the group,An invalid dn syntax has been specified - Error Code : 80072032 What am I doing wrong here? The same error appears when I am trying to nest groups with an import file, so something must be wrong in my approach
Sybase Monitor reports memory without pagesize consideration
Dear All, I think there is a bug in the Sybase monitor. We are running AppMon 8 build 8610. I believe the monitor reports kilo pages for memory usage and total instead of the claimed KB. Performance slow and wrong alerts
Hi, We have some issues with our Application Manager. We've installed 190 monitors on a windows server (1 Xeon 2.4 CPU, 2GB mem) and the monitor is reporting more and more false alerts about the health. The CPU is often on 100%, so we decided to place an extra CPU, but now we notice *** DEAD *** queries in MySQL Administrator. AppManager bug? error in application with snmp?
Hi, I have a situation with a Solaris system running snmp. The snmpd daemon was stopped like 15 days ago but for some reason AppManager was aware of it but did not tell or report anything wrong in the application. Better yet, it keeps telling that that server was up and running but there was no data from it. This is the only msg that gives when I poll manually from website: SNMP Agent is not running in the System . Kindly start the SNMP Agent for Monitoring. And so, I still have like an old

Hello, when i add a service sometimes it is shown on another monitor. Monitored services are changing their operating system. Can i limit users to open 1 session. Someusers opening multiple session. I guess mixing problem occurs because of that.
Fail to add new monitor (windows server).
I re-installed APM in new windows server. (Let me assume this new windows server name as "aaa".) And, I tried to add new monitors(Remote windows servers), I got the error message like the attached screen shot. Those remote windows servers have been monitored with no problems before. Hello, Under the PROCESS DETAILS panel in a (linux) server, when I select a process to monitor is appmanager looking for a PID or for the process name? Reason being we have a service with a PID in it's configuration, and I want appmanager to look for the PID rather than the options.

AppManager 9 post installation issue
I installed AppManager 9 as a fresh installation because I moved the program files location, and it went fine for the managed server. However, on the managment servers the service will not stay started. Sorry, I have another trouble with AppManager... After change database from MSSQL to MySQL, things look well. While I created a monitor for Active Directory, I use an account which called labadm@lab.org, the status and information could be returned correctly. After the success, I try to add an account for monitoring AD, called labsys (a member of Domain Admins), where the trouble is! Scheduled Reports Issue
I have set up a couple of alert summary reports (monthly and ytd) for 2 different monitoring groups that are supposed to go out the first of each month, but didn't run. Monitoring MySql & SSH Tunnelling
Hi, I have an Ubuntu box setup with SSH tunnelling enabled. The tunnel is used by several back office processes that run on the box. I've setup the tunnel to allow connections from "localhost" which allows the back office processes to work correctly. When I try to use the SSH tunnel from the MySql monitor the internal IP address of the machine is being used to connect to the tunnel so it's rejected (because I've only allowed "localhost" to connect to the tunnel and not "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx"). Good Day. Do you Guys know of a way in Apps Mgr 8 to monitor Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 MR5 Servers.
