Known Issue - Applications Manager Start Up issue due to Antivirus software.

Dear Folks,

Off late we have noticed that Applications Manager has been having issues while startup, If Antivirus Software is installed in the Server.

The Antivirus Software causes connection blockades with the MySQL Database. Hence Applications Manager would not start as expected.

The workaround for this is to either

1. Exclude the Applications Manager folder from the Antivirus scanning (assuming you are using bundled Mysql).

or

2. Stop the Scanning while StartUp to enable a expected startup.

Of the above we strongly recommend to follow the 1st option.

As of now the Antivirus software with which we have found this occurrence are

1. McAfee

2. ESET NOD Antivirus

and will update the list as we come across them.

Please be noted that this is a workaround and we are working to check if we can handle the same.

Happy Monitoring.
