Desktop Central compatibility with Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite)
What is the status of Desktop Central working with Yosemite? Ever since we upgraded our Macs, Desktop Central has been reporting this for the operating system: Mac OS X - Unknown For service pack: 10.10 - Unknown And if you click on the computer name it takes you to this screen (clicking Scan Now does nothing): No data available Possible Reasons: The computer is not scanned for identifying the vulnerable patches. Automatic Patch Tasks
Hello, Could you confirm the following please: I’ve created an automatic patch deployment task which will scan for and deploy updates to computers every Wednesday at 10AM. I’ve configured the execution settings to retry twice on failed attempts, once on start-up and the other during refresh. Am I right to assume that should a computer be offline during the next scheduled run time (i.e. Wednesday at 10 AM), according to the execution settings, it will still apply the task the moment it next communicates
dcpatchmgmt.log have grown to over 6GB on some client comptuers
the dcpatchmgmt.log files have grown so large that it is causing some clients to become unresponsive using all of the Disk activity trying to read this large log file during deployments. patches never get installed and user machines are so slow they can't even read their email in outlook. this has caused us to have to shut off desktop central until we can find a solution.
New false positive for patch 15630/15631 (MS14-030) on Win 7 SP1 32/64-bit
Has anyone else noticed in the past few days that a Windows 7 patch released back in June 2014 is showing up as a false positive on some or all workstations: Patch 15630 / 15631 (MS14-030) Security update for RDP vulnerabilities Out of 180 Win 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) workstations, approximately 125 are affected at my site. This was occurring on build 90066 and is still occurring on build 90075 (applied Saturday morning) and with the latest Vulnerability DB update. Thanks.
Desktop Central keep identify patch's although they were installed
Hi, Using DC latest edition. One of the PC's running Windows 8.1 Pro. After system patch scan, I get 33 patch's missing, although they were already installed. Then I get " Unknown Error. Code : -21...", when I try to create a patch configuration install. I even delete the computer and ununstall the agent and install back, but same thing. I thing that a month ago, I had to reset the windows update in this PC, not sure. anyway, I didn't find any way to solve this issue. -Roei

Root Certificate Updates for Windows 7 x64
In Patch Management, I can see the availability of Root Certificate Updates for Windows XP, but not for any other OSes. We (our IT Security Team) have Windows Updates blocked at the PC (I should actually say, "At the firewall") and without these Root Certificate Updates, everyone that gets a new PC is getting the very annoying Certificate Error with HTTPS web sites. I've spent quite some time trying to figure out the error, then I realized that I should check whether the certificate provided was
Windows detected as MAC
Hi One of the computers on my net (Windows 7), when doing a patch scan, and clicking on it to install the missing patches, DC incorrectly clasifies it as MAC, and opens the "Install MAC patch" https://localhost:8383/patchdep.do?actionToCall=deployPatch&configName=PATCH_INSTALL&configType=Computer&resourceID=303&isApproveMissingPatch=false Of course, patching process cannot be completed. Why is DC recognising badly the OS? How can I fix it? Thank you

How to manual force the patch installation remotely?
I am new to Desktop Central. This is a test environment with one Windows 2012 R2 server where Desktop Central installed and one Windows 7 Pro x64 workstation. Yes, the agent is installed on the workstation. Workstation has 1 patch missing. I downloaded and deployed with Desktop Central Patch Management. The manual deployment was successfully but the patch does not seem to download to the workstation. In screenshot, it shows 'Ready to Execute' and 'Yet to Apply'. What did I miss and how do I execute
List of supported patches for October 2014
Can we have a list of all this month's Patch Tuesday supported patches in DTC please? Thanks, Dean
Need to apply 'Sandworm' patch via Desktop Central
Note that the specific concern regarding 'Sandworm' is not longer applicable. The Microsoft patch MS14-060 is now available in the Desktop Central portal. However, the question regarding the manual download of patches for DTC deployment is still a question. The steps described here did not seem to work - p://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/patch-management-how-to.html#patch-management-how-to4 Has anyone had success in manually downloading patches and deploying through DTC? Thanks.
Missing "Organizational Unit" as a target in my free edition of DC 9 (Build No:90066)
Hi, I used to select "Organizational Unit" as a target when creating configurations but I can not see that option anymore under "Choose a Target" section. I was using an evaluation version so far, which got downgraded to a free version recently. So I am not sure if that is the case. Thanks, Ranjith
Patch prompt
Is it possible for the prompts to install patches could have a list of the patches? Perhaps a link that pops them up in a scolleable window. My users sometime want to know what is about to be updated.
Hotfix 90067 - Lists of Win patches not visible
Wonder if anyone else is seeing this new problem with Hotfix 90067: When I select Patch Mgmt tab, then either All Patches or Supported Patches, I can only see Mac patches. Windows patches aren't showing up in the lists anymore. They showed up fine up until last night, when I applied Hotfix 90067. I only have Windows 7/8.1 workstations, so Mac patches aren't very useful. I can't even think of a way to deploy missing Windows patches at this point, other than using Software Deployment. I've opened

Reboot Prompts
I would find it useful if I could have a prompt to users to reboot their PC when one is required to complete an install/patch. Ideally with a customizable message and the option to say how often it will remind them.

MSWU-975 keeps showing up as not installed
Newbie using Desktop Central for patch management. I just noticed that I pushed out the MSWU-975 patch and it installed across all of my PCs but it keeps showing up after the new scans that it has not been installed. tried rebooting a few machines but it keeps coming up. I looked on a couple of the PCs and KB 2917500 was installed multiple times. What do I have configured wrong? I have been manually running the updates and scans until I have my feet wet.
Patch Mgmt and Inventory support for new 64-bit Google Chrome browser?
I see this morning that the Win and Mac versions of Chrome v37.0.2062.94 are now detected. When I install the new 64-bit version of Chrome v37.0.2062.94 on a Win 7 SP1 workstation, then scan it for patches and assets, the 64-bit version is showing up exactly the same as the 32-bit version. There doesn't seem to be any detection of the 64-bit version. This will make it difficult to roll out the 64-bit version to our 64-bit workstations and tablets, if DesktopCentral can't tell us which ones are

Support for IE hotfix 2991509?
I just heard about the new Microsoft hotfix to address slowdown problems in IE versions. Here's the link to the MS KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2991509 I've downloaded the .msu files for IE v9 x64 through IE v11 x64 and have created software deployments for them (using wusa.exe <patch> /quiet ) but wondered if Desktop Central would be providing patch scans and deployments for these hotfix versions? Thank you.

Patch Management - Desktop Central vs Windows Updates
Good morning, I have recently deployed IE 11 on a few test PCs. When I run a patch scan from Desktop Central on these new installs, I don't see the same patches listed as when I run a local Windows update: The two patches I'm concerned with are the ones pertaining to IE 11: Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for Windows 7 for x64-based System (KB2929437) Date published: 04/7/2014 Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for Windows 7 for x64-based System (KB2962872) Date published
Adobe Reader 11.0.0.7 in Spanish
Is there a way to obtain a package in Spanish such as Adobe Reader 11.0.0.7 or is there a way to create the template package in Spanish? We have some end users that primarily speak Spanish and I am in need of updating their adobe. I have no problems with the English version. I have been trying to figure out how to set this up but I am not having any luck. Any help would be greatly Appreciated.

Windows Update settings with Automated Patch Deployment
What should the local Windows settings be for Windows Update if using the automated patch deployment feature of Desktop Central? I do not want to have a conflict with 2 patching methods. If Desktop Central policy is applied does it override the local settings or GPO that may be applied.

Java deployment still not working correctly
When I rollout any version of java, I always set it to only install during startup. Ever since 9 came out that setting is ignored and java is installed immediately on the target computers. Java then is not installed properly and a manual install is required. Java 7.60 just came out and I decided to test deployment. I am still experiencing the same bad deployment issue that I had with 7.55 and DC 9. I recently upgraded our build to 90023 and the issue is still there. Has anyone experienced the same
