Microsoft Update KB3114409
Good Morning, There was a problem with the update for Microsoft Outlook 2010 which you are probably aware of by now. Outlook will only open in Safe Mode and I am getting hounded by the end users. Is there a fix or another update that will be sent to correct the problem? I also did a search for the update to uninstall it and I am not able to find it. Ed
Patch Management: DesktopCentral VS other tools
To other desktop central users - how do you find DesktopCentral's patch support? To me, it seems to be missing a lot of patches - not only Office 2016 but others as well. This morning I updated Desktop Central and did a scan on my computer. It identifies two patches needed. I then scanned with a different tool, and found 66 patches needed. While it is worth noting that many of these are Office 2016, there are many which are not. For reference, I then scanned with Windows Update, which found 30 updates,
Exported Vulnerability Report Include System Health Graph
On the Reports tab, Patch Reports > Vulnerable System Report, when clicking Export PDF, is there a way to include the System Health Graph. The graph is a great overview so that a business owner can see at a glance that no systems are vulnerable without looking at the details. So, I would really like that graph on the report. When I export the report to PDF, I am only getting the Healthy Systems table.

Old patches showing up
I am currently evaluating DC for my organization. One question is about the patch management. Many of my systems are showing up as Highly Vulnerable (some with as many as 60 needed patches!). I was trying to find out what was happening because SCCM says nothing about those patches and when I manually run Windows update off domain, it does not find those patches. These are patches from as far back as 2011 and 2012. I wonder if these have been superseded. I'm just wondering how I can known which is
Support for the latest Java Patch
The current Java 1.8 patch (update 66) has been out for 2 weeks and still isn't available to install with Desktop Central yet. Is there any ETA on the patch being supported?
KB3097877 re-release
Good Afternoon, We are experiencing the issue with Outlook 2013 crashing due to KB3097877 which was released Tuesday and deployed by Desktop Central yesterday. I see Microsoft has corrected the issue and re-released this patch, but with the same KB number. Will Desktop Central still download the updated version and recognize it as a new patch to deploy even though it has the same KB number? Thanks, Matt
Windows 10 can't deploy configuration
I have followed the steps for manually downloading and placing the Windows 10 updates in our patch repository, those steps are from the following KB. https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/patch-windows-10-update.html Even though I've followed all of the steps I'm still getting this error, I opened a ticket and still don't have resolution.
Windows 10 - November Update Errors
I have a test VM here with the November update for Windows 10 installed (v1511) The VM is flagged as requiring 5 patches, but these all fail with Unknown Error. Code : -2145124329 In the patches folder on the client the update files are all there but when I try to isntall any of them I am told that they are not applicable to that computer The patches are: 19053 MS15-106 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3105210) 19172 MS15-113 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based
Downloaded Binary that is Not Applicable....?
Hi, Our Desktop Central server download patch 300541 and 300542. The file downloaded (for 300541) was 300541-cdbxp_setup_4.5.1.4003.exe One of our security products flagged this is a malicious binary (based on reputation). I searched to see if any of our endpoints require patch #300541 or #300542. Not only does no endpoint report needing this patch, but the Desktop Central UI doesn't even have any result for these patch IDs (it's as if they do not exist). But....I have binaries in my patch database
Patch Management IP Scope
I haven't been able to find an answer to this in any KB. We have quite a few remote offices and have set up IP Scopes so the agents communicate to the appropriate server. We have end users who travel between offices (global company) when they arrive in another location and receive an IP from that location is the agent smart enough to switch to that remote office server and when they return to their office switch back? I assume as long as the IP Scopes are setup correctly this is how it works but

This is for Security Update for Microsoft OneNote 2010 (KB3054978) 32-Bit Edition Any help will be appreciated. Ed
Chrome patch marked not approved?
302996 TU-017 Update for Google Chrome x64 (46.0.2490.86) why is this patch marked as not approved?
Patch Management Exclusions showing as Failed.
I have updated my automatic patch deployment jobs to run separately for my remote office sites. I have noticed for the last week that my exclusions are showing as failures. I exclude the servers and update those manually at least for now.Why do they show as failed instead of not applicable. Ed
Patch Tuesday
When should i be seeing patches available in the patch DataBase? In EST please. it just seems that the patches released by MS dont show up in our DB until mid morning on the Wed after after Patch Tue. We try to be as close to bleeding edge as possible for our dev environment and are having some issues with our timing. thanks!!
Java 8u65 not available
Java 8u65 is not available in Desktop Central yet. What is the reason for this delay? This is a critical security update which was released more than 24 hours ago. I was under the impression Desktop Central makes critical security updates available within 24 hours? Thanks, Stefan
pc outside of network failed to scan due to Error says distribution server not reachable
Computer is not being scanned during scheduled scan. Error says distribution server not reachable. This computer location is outside our network and it is in default remote office group that is set for direct communication. computer also was not patched during scheduled deployment.
Patch Tuesday Office Update Error
I am seeing a lot of machines report failure for Patch ID 102090 MSWU-1587 Remarks OfficeUpdateError:Patch already installed. Also the same problem with Patch ID 102091 Bulletin ID MSWU -1587 Remarks OfficeUpdateError:No product installed for the contained patch. I thought if the patch didn't apply then it would not try to install or if it was already installed it would not try to install. Has anyone else experienced the same problem? Ed
Patch management for non Internet connected air gap network
Is it possible to use Desktop Central in an air gap network without Internet connection? Something like an external Internet connected Desktop Central server which downloads the patches and makes them available for transfer via USB keys to a Desktop Central server on the air gap network?
Bandwidth controls when patching/installing
I have noticed that I need to limit my patching/installing down to 10 devices at a time because the hit our LAN/WAN takes. I know you can limit the bandwidth on the remote site down to 64kb, which we did. However, I do not feel it is truly working as i am seeing my WAN burst to 40mb causing multiple issues. Has anyone else seen this issue, and what did you do to prevent it? Thanks, Dan
Patching results enhancement question
During last nights patching we noticed something i thought i might bring to your attention. If any patch fails the host machine will be listed as a failure. However during subsequent retries of the same patch the patch eventually goes to installed. Thats great for patching but the report still shows as failed. It would be great if the patch jobs could re-tally the results to update the charts once the job is completely finished.. from a practical or security stand point its a non issue. but when
Patch Deployment Problem
Hi i have some problem with patch deployment.the patches are deployed and the status says "Patch already Installed and the changes will not be effective until the system is rebooted.". no matter how many time i reboot clients and rescan for missing patches they will remain in this status. what should i do???
Scheduling Patches
Build: 91058 I've scheduled patch jobs with reboots at 5:30pm so it's done after hours, I've been doing this since the beginning of using ME. For the past 2 days the jobs started at 4:30pm, needless to say the end users were not to pleased with their workstations rebooting with clients sitting in front of them. Checked: current time and zone is correct on ME computer, like all other workstations they are set with domain server which itself is correct. ME ->Admin->Personalize is exactly the same
Patch Management - MS15-093
Hi, What about MS15-093. It seems to be really critical. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/ms15-093.aspx This security update resolves a vulnerability in Internet Explorer. The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if a user views a specially crafted webpage using Internet Explorer. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could gain the same user rights as the current user. Customers whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system
Vulnerability Database Update fails
Hello, I turned off my server during my vacation, I switched my license from trial to free, as the 30 days were over. Now I am trying to update the vulnerability database, Everything works, except the last step, "Syncing security updates" It takes a while and fails after about 5~10 minutes. - I already turned off all security software that can possibly block anything, - I already turned off all network-based security( Astaro UTM), to avoid it blocking anything. It still keeps failing over and over
Block 3rd Party Applications from being available under Patch Management.
It is taking us longer & longer each month to approve Updates manually as there are more & more unnecessary 3rd Party Patches appearing. Is there a way or could there be a way for us to block these 3rd Party Applications from appearing? We do not want LibreOffice, iTunes, CDBurnerXP, Poedit, Opera, & so forth from even appearing as an Option to be approved. If we could at-least set them to auto Decline would suffice. As we search for Not Approved Patches recently released. Thanks,
Patches did not deploy
Hello, the monthly patches downloaded fine, but did not deploy to any systems. I know the downloads were ok because they did deploy to the test group, just not to the entire company. What logs can I use to determine what went wrong? Does anyone know a solution? I should mention that the guy who used to do this left. Thanks! Beck
Automated Deployment configuration reporting 'not scanned'
Hi, I've been using the automated deployment for some time now and its been working, for the most part, okay. That is until recently when the patch database lost sync with manage engine (our ISP blocked our NTP server for reasons known only to them... which through our server times out of whack). After fixing that issue, I went back to leaving our automated deployment to run but I soon found that when I added new machines to the deployment configuration, they where being ignored so I deleted that
Problem while downloading the patch from the server with error : 404

Java update, process busy
When deploying the latest Java patches, a lot of clients indicated they were unable to update because the process was busy even after restart with no one logged in.
Unable to deploy critical patches
I have a VM set up to allow unapproved patches to be pushed out to it to test before deploying to the rest of the machines. The issue I'm currently having is all patches I push out to the virtual machine come back as Not Applicable. I thought the cause could be that I didn't have Internet Explorer 11 installed (It only have IE 8) and one of the patches was for IE 11, so I installed Internet Explorer 11 and then re-deployed the patch and still failed. Another patch I tried to deploy was one for Word
Unable to reach the Domain!
I am receiving an error "Desktop Central server should have access to reach the following domains to download patch related files in the following formats: .7z, .zip, .exe, .msi etc ." The software the error is referring to is CDBurnerXP. . However, this software is not installed on any workstation or server. It is not listed in the software inventory. So why is DS attempting to access the URL, http://download.cdburnerxp.se?
Stop Windows 10 Auto downloading
Hi, Is there a method deploy something to stop Windows 10 automatically downloading and upgrading on computers that are managed but not part of the domain?
Auto Patch Deployment
Hi I created an Auto Patch Deployment config to scan, download and deploy. But found that when the agent was installed on a new build , it would immediately start deploying patches and not just at the defined schedule time (DC Default Policy maybe ?) , which was not ideal when you are doing other setup\config work on the machine. So I modified the config to just scan. But have found that patches are still being deployed to newly installed machines immediately after the agent is installed. Is it best
Desired - Patch Approval Status "By Application"
Currently we have configured all updates as "approved", and only today I have added my first "declined" patches, for the Application "SharePoint". This seemed to be the only option available, whereas what I would like to do, is automatically approve all Microsoft application, "Except" SharePoint, leaving those as "manually approve" only. I don't want to have to manually approve every patch, for every application. Can you improve the approval status configuration, to allow users to choose the approval
deploy question
When i press the deploy immediately button , The deploy waits the 90 minutes anyway ?
Patch Tuesday 2015 - Patch Install Failures
Good morning, we've found 4 patch updates that are consistently failing, on multiple servers: ===== Patch ID 5000068 BulletinID SP-019 This patch has been installed on a server, rebooted twice. Desktop Central sees it as needed still, the technician deployed it again (through DTC). The technician rescanned the computer again, and DTC still sees it as needed. ===== Patch ID 18070 Patch Name Windows8.1-KB3046339-2012R2-x64.msu Updated On Jul 14, 2015 BulletinID MS15-068 MS KB 3046339 Hyper-V update.
Deploying Patches - Not Applicable
Hi all, I'm new to this forum, and relatively new to Desktop Central and deploying patches. I am going through the Critical patches which have not yet been approved. I have set up a VM to test the patches on before I roll them out to other machines, but when I try and push any Windows updates out, I get: "Patch is not applicable for this target" I thought it may be because I don't have any other installs on the machine. It's very basic, only has Windows SP1 on (Windows 7) but cannot seem to work
Failed to Update the Vulnerability DataBase
Recently installed MEDC (V9 Build 91043) and found that I cannot sync the patch vulnerability database - it fails with the error in the title I'm not using a proxy (Direct to internet) Looking at the logs, it downloads the SQL Files, and then when it tries to update the database it fails. In the crslog0 file there is a java exception error when talking to postgres [08:28:10:433]|[07-14-2015]|[CRSLogger]|[INFO]|[144]: Updating Desktop Central database with latest patch information...| [08:29:12:446]|[07-14-2015]|[CRSLogger]|[INFO]|[144]:
