Objective
This article guides you through configuring an authenticated proxy server in ADAudit Plus. This is essential if your network requires authentication for outbound internet access and ADAudit Plus is currently using an unauthenticated proxy.
Prerequisites
Ensure that the proxy server supports username- and password-based authentication.
Have the required credentials (the username and password) for the authenticated proxy.
ADAudit Plus must be installed and accessible through the web console.
Steps to follow
Log in to the ADAudit Plus web console using administrator credentials.
Go to Admin > General Settings > Connection > Proxy.
Enable proxy configuration by clicking the check box for Proxy Server Settings.
Enter the details of the authenticated proxy server:
The proxy server address (e.g., proxy.company.com)
The port number
The username
The password
Click Save to apply and activate the authenticated proxy configuration.
Validation and confirmation
After you save the settings, ADAudit Plus should begin routing its internet-bound traffic through the authenticated proxy. You can validate the configuration by monitoring outbound requests or checking the connectivity status for features such as license activation or cloud syncing.
Tips
Ensure the proxy credentials you provide have sufficient access to reach external URLs required by ADAudit Plus (e.g., for updates or licensing).
Use a service account if available and avoid using personal credentials in the proxy settings.
If authentication fails, double-check the username and password and test the connectivity using a browser or command-line tool on the server.
