Learn how to configure and enable print server auditing in ADAudit Plus, allowing you to track and report print activity across your organization’s Windows print servers.

 Prerequisites 

  • You must have an account with administrative privileges in ADAudit Plus.

  • Ensure print and document services are installed and configured on the target servers.

  • The target servers must run Windows Server 2008 or later.

 Steps to follow 

  1. Log in to the ADAudit Plus web console as an administrator.

  2. Navigate to the Server Audit tab.

  3. In the left pane, expand Configured Server(s) > Print Server.

  4. Click Add Print Servers located in the top-right corner.

  5. In the pop-up window, select the print servers.

  6. Click Next to include the selected print servers.

  7. Under Printer Configuration, review the list of selected servers.

  8. Follow the steps in the configuration dialog box to complete the process.

  9. Click Save to complete the configuration.

 Validation and confirmation 

  • Verify that the configured print servers appear under Server Audit Configuration in the ADAudit Plus web console.

  • Print a test document on one of the configured print servers.

  • Navigate to the Server Audit tab > Printer Auditing and confirm that the print job is recorded in the report.

 Tips 

  • Regularly review your Print Server Reports to monitor print activity and detect unusual printing patterns.

  • Use filters to generate targeted reports by user, printer, or date range.
