New to Software, cannot reach website
I have loaded and reached the site before to do some basic configuration but I am not familiar with the product enough to troubleshoot it correctly. I made a few minor configurations like download users from AD, deleted some departments, and added some techs. That's pretty muich it and the website no longer comes up. I am using the same address but it's jsut a blank page and it says done in the bottom left corner... I am at a loss. Does it use IIS? Or some other product like Apache? I know it uses
E-mail to 3rd parties
Can ServiceDesk send e-mail to 3rd parties? Whenever someone external to our domain submits a fault, an e-mail address is entered against the request, but no e-mail notification is despatched. Similarly, any attempts to e-mail people not on the domain results in a failure.
Unable to change Workstation Status from "In Store"
Hi, We've been using SD+ Pro 7 for a couple of months now (currently build 7004), and I have been having trouble getting the imported workstations marked as "In Use". No error is presented but the state remains constantly "In Store". I've tried Actions -> Modify State from the summary page, or from the Resource Summary, Resource State - In Store [change] yet neither of these seem to work. Screenshots on requests created via email
I have just applied SP 7014 and now not even the red X for the screenshot attached by the user is showing up on the new request. We really need this feature working. Is there a way to get the screenshots visible on the new requests created via email?.
SDP 7.0.0 Build 7014 open issues

Can't backup SD
Several days ago my colleague dropped SD`s DB by issueing some stored procedure directly. I can't figure out what stored procedure he run and to tell the trues I even don't want to know. I just restored DB from backup copy and restarted SD. And it worked fine. Till today. I tryed to make a backup using backUpData.sh script and it failed to complete. Cannot do Custom View with Unassigned tickets displayed
I have the following custom view set up: Group is : "Network and Database Services - 3rd Line" and Request Status is not: "Closed" and Technician is not: "Joe Bloggs" as soon as you enter any Technician infomation, you loose not only "Joe Bloggs" but all unassigned tickets in the group too... any idea on this? I really need to sort this new group out asap. cheers
Lack of support... need to clean up MySQL Database
I have attemtpted to put in a support request, sent an e-mail, and called and have been told that they would call me back with no luck... I need to clean up the SQL database for SDP. We just want to get rid of the empty SQL entries from asset imports that were imported wrong. AssetID's are now almost into the 100,000's and there are only really about 20 assets imported. SDP 7.0.0 Build 7010 - Mail Fetching Broken?
Hey, SDP Forum Readers! I was recently psyched to see the 7.0.0 upgrade path released for existing customers! I've been eagerly anticipating this event. After applying the patches to go to build 7010, however, I discovered that mail fetching from my POP-3 help desk e-mail account is no longer functioning. I can reboot the server and it fetches once, but then doesn't do again -- even if you stop and start mail fetching from within the SDP front end. I don't see this as a scheduled Windows task. Anybody
Error when doing windows domain scan
Hi, When doing a windows domain asset scan i get the error: Either access denied for the user or the remote DCOM option might be disabled in the workstation. This only happens for some workstations/laptops, so initially i thought it was a Win XP SP2 firewall issue. Disabling the firewall had no effect on the problem though. I followed the 6 step guide for that exact error in the servicedesk+ documentation, and all settings seems to be fine. I can ping the hostname of the latop i'm currently testing
requests format starting <!--[endif]-->
Hi gang We have a series of random requests where we cannot view the conten of the request. the common factor all of them is when we can eventually read the request, the first line of the request body is: "<!--[endif]--> " Has anyone else seen this, or tell us who to get rid ot it. the result is basically a nn-searchable, hard to edit, corrupt job. Requests Approval Status
Is there any way to check which requests with pending approval status? Currently, I have to open each request individually to determine the status. Anyway to check overall? This really would help the management team. Thanks in advance.

Email & SSL?
I'm trying to configure the email interface on our test install. All of my available email options (POP & IMAP) require SSL authentication. Is there a way do tell SDP to use SSL? If not, how do people work around it?
Removing Purchased Licenses
I hit something wrong the the number of Purchase Licenses doubled on me. I don't see a way to decrease the number of purchase licenses. I have 240 but right now am sitting at 480. Help
500 error when trying to approve a change request
Create a change request, submit for approval, click the link, 500 error. Build 7011, we tried it on 7009 and it just didn't do anything(no 500 error tho). Issue with software assets
We realized the issue when we began creating purchase orders... We must first have the product type and product prior to creating a purchase order for software. Not a problem. However... Once we have received that software, installed on a workstation, and do a scan of that workstation, a new software is added (now there are to software items the one that is not scanned & associated to a purchase order, license, and inventory and the scanned version) This creates an administrative burden. Request Closure
Hello, We have the system set to send an email when a request is set to Resolved, with a Close Request link. The user is then supposed to click the link, and click Close to close the request. My problem is that when a request is set to resolve, the email is sent, the user clicks the link in the email, and when they click on the close button, all it does is refreshes the page. The link goes from something like this: http://helpdesk/workorder/CloseWorkOrder.jsp?woID=212&KEY=1203975782908 to something

Spam filter?
Hi, I'm using SD+6 (6015 precisely). I'd like to create a spam filter so SD+ doesn't create request for unknown sender's domain and for a specific email account. So I've added the following rule: Sender does not contain: mydomain.com, myotherdomain.com It's working fine, then I added: Senders is not: ignore@mydomain.com Then I only have one line left: Senders is not: mydomain.com, myotherdomain.com, ignore@mydomain.com which is obviously not what I need ... Anyone can help me? Thanks!
BUG: Default Significent description wrong
By default the description of a Significant change reads: "Routine, low-impact changes that do not require a formal approval" I assume this is an error.
How to roll back a build
I installed 7010 and think I need to go back to 7000 before the Workstations tab changed to Assets tab. Too many changes and items were in the wrong places after upgrade. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

unable to configure mail server settings for incoming email
Hi folks, I'm setting up a relatively new installation of ServiceDesk+ 6, build 6011 (already had data in the system or I would have went with version 7). Anyhow I'm trying to setup the mail server settings for incoming mail. outgoing mail works fine. Our email server is Exchange 2003, I setup the incoming settings for imap, with an account created just for service desk, and previously initialized via an outlook session (so I know the credentials are valid and the email works outside the system).
Stop Timer disappears
Quite simply if you use Stop Timer and then later Start Timer, the Timer options disappear from your action menu. This is under build 7009.
Bug in setting asset to None
I had a call which I duplicated with the requestor's asset assigned to the call. I opened each duplicate call in turn, chose the top most Edit function and changed the requestor and since the asset was now incorrect hit the + icon and changed it to None and hit Save. I then change the description, delete an attachment and hit Update. However, on the call details screen the asset has reverted to the original asset, not None. Problem Mail Server Settings in german
Mail Server Settings in german only the Incoming Mail Settings is available. When you click on Outgoing Mail Settings or Spam Filter nothing happens.
WOL
I'm having trouble getting Wake on LAN to work. When I do a Network Scan it finds the machines, grabs the MAC address. I add it to WOL and try to wake up the machine but it doesn't work. I've verified WOL is enabled in BIOS and the NIC is compatible. Help!
Can't change language
In fresh install of latest SD I can't get russian interface only english. Login page is in russian, other is in english independently of user. IE language is russian[ru] only and there are no Change Language tab in personalize menu of SD. How to change language to russian and set it as default for any users?
Custom view not filtering correctly
I created a new custom view called "My Requests And Unassigned" designed to show all jobs which are assigned to myself or unassigned and which are either Open or Onhold. To this end I setup the following rules: Technician IS "My name" or "None" AND Request Status IS NOT "Closed" or "Resolved" or "None" However, this view fails to display: * Unassigned calls - Probably because they're not assigned to None, they're assigned to Unassigned. Installation of Servicedesk Plus - Program fails to start
Using SQL server 2005 express version Install of both free version and trial goes fine, Server does not start, no errors that I can see ChangeDBserver.bat brings up the gui tool, test fails to login to the sql instance I created. Does servicedesk support sql express?
Bluescreen on login by a user
Allways when a user from Active Directory try to login to the SD+ the machine got a blue screen. But it's only by one user, all other users working fine.
