I would just like to know how prominently an external version sits in your roadmap. We are a small IT company currently looking for a soulution to support all our customers. These are not internal customers. I would like to see the addition of Company name, Address, contact numbers etc. for the clients, not just a location. And also be able to add contact names/numbers for that particular site. Workstation scanning is not required, but asset tracking to an extent is, as we do have sites that have
Backup takes hours and hours
We have only 126 Requests in the system but the backup takes 5+ hours - this cannot be right! It used to take a few minutes in an earlier period/build. As it performs the backup, it seems to grow to above 2Gb and then finally compact down to 60-70Mb. The server also max's out every now and then with a servicedesk java process which again is something pretty suspicious, anyone had this problem? We have entered a Support Request directly into the website about the backup but have heard nothing back,
Change from ServiceDesk to SupportCenter

Hello, We are currently using service desk pro and we use it for asset management everything works great. A problem that I have come across is that there is no way to enter how many windows cal's that we own. Example lets say I have 100 Windows 2003 cal's. I would like to add that to the asset management fields. Is there a way to do this just like how we can track software? Please let me know. thx

If I enter a project and tell the system it takes 8 hours to accomplish, then 8 hours later the system lists it as overdue. Is there a way to assign the amount of man hours total, not necessarily in the same day?

Active Directory Element Mapping Schema
I am trying to find the Active Directory (AD) element that maps to the technician SMS e-mail ID. Also, we are noticing that if a user has a Mobile Phone number in the AD, that replaces the telephone fields (actually superseding others) in the listings. Unable to start OpManager 6 as VMware FC4 guesthost
Hello, I was able to install OpManager 6 on Fedora Core 4 as a guesthost in VMWare 5.5. Universal alarms
I'm trying to figure out how to add thresholds and alarms for all hardware of a specific type. I'm not sure if this is an available feature, but i haven't found it yet. In any case, for example, i'd like to be able to assign a threshold of 88% to all harddrives on the server, with the same polling intervals. That way i dont have to go through and assign the value to each device. Is this possible?

Netflow Traffic
Hi, I have downloaded an evaluation copy of Netflow 5 and currently testing it on 2 Cisco 2811 routers with 2 Ethernets and 1 serial WIC. On the first router Fa 0/0 and S0/0 are showing the IN and OUT traffic while Fa 0/1 is only showing the IN traffic On the second router Fa 0/0 is showing the IN and OUT traffic while Fa 0/1 and S0/0 are showing only the IN traffic. I understand that Netflow by default works in ingress mode so how come some interfaces are showing the IN and OUT traffic. Thank you,
Customizing Network Map layout not possible after upgrade
Dear Sirs,- We are currently evaluating OpManager, and I must say that we are impressed. After upgrading from 5.6 to 6.0 it appears that there no longer is a way to customize the layout of the Network Map, which is all but completely useless without the possibility to rearrange and clean things up a bit. After the upgrade the OpManager client interface only shows and only has functionality to create/edit Business views. Are we missing something ? Best Regards,- Thomas

hi , we have 2 locations, india & US. both the places we are using netscreen 25. when i put opmanager 6.0 here. add local netscreen device of india, it works fine. when i add Us netscreen 25 device, it puts into desktop category. after doing manual changes still i dont get any snmp trap for same. pls. suggest solution

CC in notification emails
Is there any way to add a cc to notification emails - for instance copy to the requester's supervisor so they can track the progress of a request?

I am trying to customize my Email Notifications. However when I put $ContactName to get the Contact Name on the actual email received I get $ContactName, not the actual name. I do have contact name on my list so will you please let me know what I am doing wrong???

Hello, I created a new device type for an Avaya switch and assigned the hub.png image to it. Now when I added the Avaya switch OpManager discovered the switch properly however the image that is displayed is the default switch image. How can I fix the problem Regards, Ramzi
MS-Exchange missing information
Hi there, Using appmanager 6055 on W2K. I've setup a MS-Exchange 2000 monitor by using WMI authentication (on both the exchange and the system itself) but out of the "Information Store Connections & Users" window all the others show N/A or 0 values. Is that probably a problem with my Exchange? Should I activate anything special? Any help on this regard would be appreciated. TIA,
Incorrect reports on dashbaord
On the dashboard the Servers with high Memory Utilization - Last 24 hour(s) section contains my switches as well and the Servers with high CPU Utilization - Last 24 hour(s) section misses out some of my servers notibly the hardest working one. If i go to the reports run the actual report for either of these the correct results are obtained. Any ideas? Ta David
Netscreen VPN Tunnels - Subinterfaces
Testing OpManager for monitoring our WAN links, especially those WAN links that are tunnels. We use Netscreen-25s. Problem. What I would think is each site-to-site VPN shows up as a subinterface. However, when discovering each interface, it only shows the parent interface and none of the subinterfaces. Even after loading the Netscreen mibs. Product limitation? While I could easily graph the links using custom monitors, the problem is I need to both graph the numbers and show state, ID, and "Name"

i've troubles using opmanager with snmpd. snmpd (snmpd.conf attached) runs on a linux box to collect data from the systemboard via ipmi. the output is stored in the mib-tree of snmpd (UCD-SNMP-MIB). i check for ps redundancy and fan redundancy (there are exec lines in the snmpd.conf). snmpd stores the result in a table. for each exec command in the snmpd.conf the index of the parameters will be increased. eg. result of pe2800.PSRedundancy will be stored with index 1. result of pe2800.FanRedundancy

Hello, Can ApllicationsManager associate reception of specific SNMP traps to the (un)availability of an application (i.e. of a monitoring group)? Let me clarify: If ApplicationsManager receives a configured SNMP trap, I would like that a specific "monitor group" shows that the applications becomes unavailable until a clear SNMP trap is received. Hardware or non categorised error messages
Hello, in the system log, does your product report on vendor events such as hardware failures or vendor application errors? I have run a series of reports and they all mention DNS, DHCP, IIS, User logins etc ... but will they pick up and report on an error message that doesnt fit into the current category of an 'empty'(ie no current data) report. Obviously its tricky for me to test it as I have no failing hardware Cheers

Business View status issue
I created a couple of business views, one for our office and one for our datacenter. I added a shortcut in each of the views to the other map. Everthing was looking good for several days but overnight, both views changed from green to yellow. I have checked the devices in each view and all devices are green and clear. The home page also shows a yellow icon for each of these views. I can't see anything that would have changed the status of these views. There are no alarms and all the infrastructure

Service Desk Plus - Database Schema
I have installed the 30 day eval. I am desperate to test SD+ with our data imported into SD+ in order to judge performance, reporting and usability. I would like to be able to import from our current database but require the schema and root login and password for SQL. Would it be possible to provide me with these.
