SNMP-Traps are not receiving on OpManager for W2K3 server
Hello Experts, We are using OpManger 7 for Network monitoring. We are having the problem receiving SNMP traps such power failure, Network cable removed etc... in OpManager. OpManager is configured and devices are succefully added and we are able to get the performance monitor data. But SNMP traps generated on Dell PE servers are not seen on the OpManager. We are able to view the SNMP traps generated using MIB browser. Can any one tell us what might be the cause for this issue? Thanks in advance for
Re-Opened Ticket Report Creation
I looked around in my reports tab and couldn't figure out how to create a report based on a ticket that was re-opened.. Can you please tell me if this is possible? I want to run a report each week that tells me how many tickets that were closed and re-opened and then be able to sort it by subject field. Thanks

Importing Requesters
When importing requesters one of the disclaimers is that "any duplicates will be deleted". what is this governed by? because i've tried importing a couple of names and it just keeps creating duplicates. another thing - When editing a requester above Site it says INFO : Site will be associated to the requester through a Department. Here site act as a filter to select the department quickly. Why is that when importing a requester that IS assigned to a department the Site does not populate?

Hello OpManager users and support team, I try to upload the DHCP MIB from but it fails. The error is: Error parsing MIB:DHCP-MIB.mib Exception while loading MIB:Could not parse the file D:/PROGRA~1/ADVENT~1/ME/OPMANA~1/./mibs/DHCP-MIB.mib The error occured at the line no: 103 ,column: 15. Business View Restrictions
When I set up a new user and restrict that user to a specific business view, the user can still view and access links that I believe they should not be able to see. Specifically, in the upper right corner of the page, they can view: - About link, which shows them our license details, etc - Register link, which allows them to upload a new license key (!) How can I remove these links for non-administrator users?
Netscreen Firewalls no traffic NA
HI after testing Opmanager 8 I have come across a problem where we cant get traffic stats from netscreen firewalls. Manually adding software to multiple machines?
Hi Does anyone know of a way to manually add software to multiple machines? I can manually add software to a workstation on the workstation screen but when wanting to add some software to many machines this is a little time consuming. Mail Fetch Failing
Mail fetch stopped during the weekend, this has worked fine until now. I am getting following error: FAILURE :Email Settings saved successfully. But error occured while trying to check connection with mail server - Authentication Failed using the given username and password. However if we send email from requests or close requests then the email is being sent, it will just not fetch from mailbox, I have tried many different AD accounts in Username, and different mailboxes with no luck. 1 Technician's searches are extremely slow.
SD+ v7.5 b7504 MySQL. One of our technicians is unable to search in Requests within any acceptable amount of time. When using the Search in the collapsible menu bar on the side, with Search in: Requests and Enter Keyword, from the time he presses Enter or clicks Go, it takes over a minute to return a result. Meanwhile with my own technician account, a search for the same Keywords returns results in less than 5 seconds. We have tried this on our live server, and on our test server with the same results.
Remote Control Performance
Is there any settings that can be tweaked or changed to improve performance with the Remote Desktop functionality. Lets all add a note to this topic if you want the SAVE CLOSE BUTTON back..!! Why take away the only good feature with closing calls... If you are going to develop something for closure of calls why not put the effort into a drop down list for call closure catagories instead of having to guess what they are and search for them.... Build 7021 Technician Login Issue
After upgrading to build 7021 from 7020 this morning, technicians are presented with a typical "end user" screen rather than the screen with Assets, Purchase Orders, etc... if we use AD Authentication. If we login with Local Authentication, everything is fine. Has anyone had similar issues?

Issues running the linux version
Hello, I'm trying to find our company a solution for managing our Fortigate log files. I was impressed with the software after testing it on my local workstation. However, I'm now trying to run it from one of our linux servers (Fc10) and having some troubles. The install was successful, and I configured it to use the existing mysql package that already existed on the system. User Management - Can't change access levels?!?
Once a user is created why can't you chance their access level? In other words, if I created an account and gave it "Operator" access but then decided that "Guest" was more appropriate I have to delete and re-create their account. I suppose the access levels can also be done at the database level - I just haven't queried the database deep enough to look for the respected table(s). Are there plans to allow at least the "Administrator" account to change user access levels? Thanks.

URL Monitor: Same relative URL but different domain
As part of the evaluation of AppMan I am looking at URL monitoring where we would like to monitor the health and performance of certain URLs running on Websphere. We have about 20 different Websphere environments where each environment has it's own hostname (i.e. was1.my.com, was2.my.com etc). If I need to monitor a URL was1.my.com/application/mytest.jsp across all servers, I have to create 20 URLs and even worse, if the URL changes, I have to update them one by one. Is there any easier/quicker way
NO historic data available
My server has been running for quite some time and I have no historic data available. Any hints on what is wrong. This has happened previously and someone from support web-ex'd in and supposedly fixed my issue. Any help appreciated. J
Ticket closed within the hour report
I've been trying to creat a report under both tabular & matrix format. But everytime I think I've found the correct way of outputting the data, some other element seems to pop up and renders it useless. What I'm trying to obtain is a report for monthy calls closed within the hour, but to also show those that have not been closed in percentage format. headings to include request status (open, closed, held etc), rows to provide days. any chance directions could be given.

I sent this to the support team, but for the sake of everyone else: We have evaluated the product and found the following issues/recommendations: (Critical) No out of the box support for %tm_act. This is critical for monitoring AIX disks. A separate script is not acceptable as this will then count against new monitors. (Also comparable solutions provide this out of the box). This should not be an issue, as AppMan already calls iostatd, but ignores the tm_act column. (Critical) No reporting or history
Xanto UPS Devices
Hello is it possible to see Data of Xanto UPS Devices in OpManager. We bought a SNMP Adapter for each Device, but I can't see the UPS Load or the UPS Status. We are using Xanto RT 3000 with batterie packs and Xanto RT 1000 devices. Thanks for your help.

MIB Browser - Ability to select existing device / credential
It would be VERY handy if in the MIB Browser in OM8 you could select an existing device and/or SNMP credential. Right now, both must be added in manually.
Automatic discovery not working?
Hi Team, automatic discovery doesn't seem to work. This was the case with opManager 7.xx - and it still is with opManager 8. Add View Requests by Requestor
For a future release, add a button (like the Edit button, or the Add WorkLog button) that says something like PREVIOUS REQUESTS or VIEW REQUESTS BY REQUESTOR when viewing the request. This is also available in the Actions drop down, but quite frankly if it's hidden I (along with other techs) forget it's even there. Thx! Richard
Netflow 7 error
When loading up some of the tabs within a device in version 7, I am getting a long wait and then sometimes the page just refreshes with no change or I get the data. It doesn't seem to coincide with anything else. I searched the forums and found this issue is not unique, but those posts just end with support getting involved. No other info is in the posts. Perfmon counters not adding
It seems some perf counters are not adding to machines as expected. Page file counters would not add to a machine so I added another machine for Perfmon and it too is having problems. I have tried many different options and counters are not getting added in. Help...
URL Content Problem
Dear Support (again :), With AppManager we need to monitor +/- 150 urls each 2 mins. Some of the Url's are having date - timestamps on them (eg: 19/03/2009 - 14:28 CET). This changes every +/- hour. We also do not have access to the webserver so the only monitoring we can perform is on the webpage itself. When you take a deeper look into the HTML page, the date is displayed as text in the page... How would you guys suggest we try monitoring this with AppManager? Can we work with variables in the
