Closing a job from the resolution page
Service desk plus 7.5.0 Build 7513 We have a rule that requires a technician to be assigned to a job before it is closed. When closing a job normally, we get a pop up box to notify us if no technician is assigned. If we close a job from the resolution tab by using the drop down box at the bottom of the page, it will save the resolution text, but the job doesn't get closed - but there is no popup to inform you of the rule, or the failure to close the job.

Adding event log rules into templates
I'm pretty new to OpManager and I can see where I can set indivual devices to alert on certain event logs, but can not see how to add it to a template. As we want to be able to monitor for a certain event id's across the 100 odd windows 2003 servers we currently have already using the windows 2003 template. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Cannot connect monitors to the snapshot dial graphs for new device template
Hi, I am using OpManager 8.22 that I am currently customizing by adding templates for our own HW. I have been reading the forum now for several days to try to enable the CPU utilization graph for this custom devices. This is what I have done so far: 1. Created new category - RLSgroup 2. Created a new device template - SatLink RLS-85XX - inserted in the RLSgroup category 3. Added monitors to the SatLink RLS-85XX device template. Verified that the monitors are working correctly. Hello. We have noticed that our .err file in the mysql\data folder is growing quite large. At the moment it is over 1GB in size. Is there a way to reduce or remove this file? We also have a lot of relay.bin.00xxx file. Can i stop the server from producing these files?

NFA 7.5 SP4 poor performance when running database search
Hey, I have a performance question/problem with NFA. In general system runs fine, but search -report is unusably slow. If I run query "search" from main window "more reports" tab, with search criteria "port 80" without any source/destination, it takes 5+ minutes. Any ideas ? How is memory utilisation calculated?
I have a Windows 2003 server with a registered usage of 91%, but pulling up the process list from OpManager shows processes using only 6% of the available memory. Is OpManager including file cache in its overall count, or is it counting total memory for the percentage different from how it calculates per process usage? The current warning I am seeing for example: Memory Utilization is 87%, threshold value for this monitor is 80%: Top 3 Processes:-sqlservr.exe - 3%;Mcshield.exe - 2%;FrameworkService.exe
problems with ClientFilter
Hello All, I am new to the Adventnet world and having a problem which I hope you can help me with: I have two devices in my network, both of them produce the same trap (which is an alarms, actually) Advantnet gets the traps and at the end of the process, I suppose to be able to watch those alarms by selecting the "open alarms" branch in the tree. A table indeed is being opened but... if both devices send the same failure object trap, then the second trap CANCEL the first one and I see only one line

HI, must off all my servers are linux Ubuntu server. I know that ubuntu use or is a memory hug but that's the way works. The thing is AppManager is telling me that this server is using 38% of memory and when I enter to the server is using just 4% of memory.

Hi, It would be benifical if we could allocated devices to specific users ratther then a Guest or operator account. Members of our team only need to view the Syslogs from a few systems and not them all. Is there a way that this can be set? scanning of virtual hosts
hi i had a proliant dl380 g3 which i used as an old file server and service desk 7509 correctly scanned it as a windows machine. i have now rebuild the server as an esxi 3.5 host (vmware) and i have changed the hostname of the server and i have 2 questions with regards to scanning 1) the device is still showing as a windows device, can this be changed 2) is it possible to scan vmware (or other virtual hosts machines) with service desk plus?, i do not have telnet or ssh enabled on thos host machines,
Updating requesters via .csv file
We want to update our user's location field in ServiceDesk to align with what is in AD. We do not want ServiceDesk to break the different locations into seperate sites. I did an extract of the AD information to a CSV file, but when I go to import it, it wants me to point the login id and password fields to a column. We use AD for authentication so I don't want to overwrite that info. Any suggestions on how I can do this? Ideally, I would love to make ServiceDesk sync to the AD office field without

File size monitoring
I know I've seen it discussed in the past and it's been stated that it's an upcoming feature, but do you have any updates on the file size monitoring capabilities for OpManager? I have a situation in which it would be very useful to be able to trend a log file size. Obviously its easy enough to do via other means, but it would be nice if OpManager was able to do it.

probes are not automatically updating like the instructions say they will and they have not connected in over 4 hrs. bandwidth is not an issue because the probe and central server are on the same subnet in the same building.

Windows (Dos) script for nightly backup giving error
My Opmanager install is to the G drive on my windows server. When I run the following commands, the BackupDB_Mysql -destination command results in ".\setEnv.bat is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. SQL Cache Memory Alarm
Hi, I am trying to work out the correct thresholds for the alarms for our DB servers. One alarm that has been occuring on a couple servers lately is the SQL Cache Memory, it appears to have a default setting of 2048 KB. I am trying to find out more information on this counter and have found out that SQL Cache Memory is responsible for reserving memory for dynamic SQL statements, I havent been able to find out anything on recommended levels, how to modify the levels or how SQL Server sets this level.

Installation Problem 500 error

How to download a report for a Performance test?
Hello, can someone help me with downloading the report? What I do is basically run a performance test and go to reports tab to see the results .. but once load it and download with the browser option "save as .." I cannot read the report later because it says the results are stored in a server, not on my pc. I need to be able to download the report as pdf or doc file .. doesnt really matter. Attachments are not deleted?
I have found that attachments to Incidents/requests that have been deleted in ServiceDesk are still on the system. I have checked for attachments to deleted job numbers in (AdventNet\ME\ServiceDesk\fileAttachments\Request) storage area, and then searched in ServiceDesk Plus for the associated job number and nothing comes up but the attachment is still there! Hi All, EventLog Analyzer is a good product and I their support is responsive. However, one area I am having difficulty addressing with the product is regulatory compliance for log integrity. Most regulations require that the integrity of logs be maintained. I was wondering if anyone could share how they are addressing this with EventLog Analyzer. Reply mail not sent to requester when adding a new request
Look Bluds, When I click the 'Add request' button at the bottom of the new request page service desk gets stuck and doesn't return to the requests screen. Also, no reply mail has been sent to the client so I guess this is the stage it is getting stuck on. Has anybody else had this issue? Any idea?
