Discovery of new services
Hi, I defined number of new services to be monitored. However, I can not make OpManager to find those services on my servers. The only way to assign services is to add them by hand. Is there any way to make OpManager to discover custom services? (They are marked for check during discovery process.) Bithajcsar
ESX Server VMware CPU Utilization is over 1000%
I have a VMware ESX server that is being monitored in Opmanager and I just added the monitors for CPU Utilization and it is showing that two of the machines are using over 1000%! One is listed as 3192% and the other is at 39246%. Is there something that I am doing incorrectly? Thanks, Joe
Monitoring Cisco ASA 5510
I added new device template to add my Cisco ASA5510 appliance, i am able to see all the interfaces, however, i am not able to monitor CPU, Memory, Active Session Count and Temperature of this device using SNMP credentials. Please help. Regards Samad

Problem with Exchange Monitoring
Hi, I'm evaluating build 7101 of OpManager and on the whole it seems to work quite well. However, I'm having a problem getting the monitoring of our Exchange 2003 server to work correctly. Every time I try to test one of the Exchange monitors I always get a message back saying the monitor did not respond to the test request. I've tried the following to try and fix the problem: I've triple checked the logon credentials and they are correct I've checked the permissions for DCOM & WMI on the Exchange
Moving Database to different server
Hi Guys I am trying to move OpManager from one server to another both servers are windows 2000, but have different host names. The build version is 7020 When I copy the database from the original server to the new one I get the following error Oops looks like a few tables got corrupted. Don't worry.. Run RepairDB.bat from bin directory and restart the server I tried to run the RepairDB.bat myisamchk: warning: 1 clients is using or hasn't closed the table properly myisamchk: MyISAM file ..\mysql\data\OpManagerDB\operationstreetable.MYI
Notification after more than one check
Is there a way to delay the notification of a downed server until the second or third time it's reported down? We have a Windows service that is scheduled to stop and restart when it receives updates. We don't need to know that it went down for that, only if it goes down and stays down. -Thank you.
typo in device name has caused inaccessible device
Hi, I have put a typo in a device name. I clicked on its IP address after adding and by mistake put " - Device Name" I cannot reach this device by name, IP address, or by searching through device maps.... What to do?? Regards, BF
OpManager vs. AppManager??
How can I compare and contrast OpManager and AppManager?? Is there anything on the ManageEngine website that would help me do this?? They seem quite similar, and I get the impression that AppManager provides more detailed application monitoring per se. Thank you, Tom
Acknowledged Alarms & recent alarm log
Any chance that once an Alarm has been acknowledged that it is removed only from the recent alarm log? At present the only way to remove an alarm from here is to clear it however as an Operations team, we only want to know about recent un-acknowledged alarms, not acknowldged ones. The alarms tab would still show acknowldged and un-acknowldged alarms. Many thanks Brad

Hi. I want to monitoring using snmp. I use default snmp deamon at the solaris. I confirmed that system name, desc, oid etc. but i not confirmed that cpu utilization, memory, disk utilization etc. Does must HOST-RESOURCE-MIB load? OPManager not monitoring CPU and Memory
Don't know if I am missing something here but, I've setup OpManager with Read/write on SNMP and I just cannot get it to monitor the CPU and processor. Everything else is working. I've tried this on the MYSQL database and now running it on MSSQL 2000. Please could you help tell me what is wrong as we need reports and have paid for this software.

I am having trouble finding the MIB or OID to discover basic host stats from my 1100 access points such as CPU usage and Memory Usage. I am running build 7024, but there is no device template for the 1100. Can you point me in the right direction to build these monitors?
Trying to migrate the MTSQL DB to MSSQL.
Hi Been running OpManager on MYSQL but wishing to migrate it over to MSSQL. The issue I have is that the DatabaseMigrator.bat is not working and if I do switch over to MSSQL There is not data and trying to import devices, it says the delvice is already added. Can you assist with somesort of tool to move this database over to MSSQL.

Custom monitors, Device Templates and Community sharing
Hi, Does anyone know the OIDs for monitoring CPU, Memory and Backplane Utilization on a 3Com switch? Also please use this post to specify custom OIDs for monitors that you know and the corresponding Device types. Will be helpful for other OpManager users. Also do try out the new Device Templates feature in Opm 7 which allows you to create templates for monitoring devices and share with the OpManager community. Regards Girish

High CPU
Hi, I have made some searches on this but not found anything relating to my problem. I have very high cpu utilisation. First of all, I have several "cscript" running in task manager that are consuming a lot of cpu(are these connected to opmanager?). The machine is running in i virtual ESX environment and has 2,4 G CPU, 3 gig RAM and fast disk-access to SAN. The CPU is running at 100% more or less all the time you work with the interface. Further more i have about 40 routers with 3-4 interfaces monitored,

Unable to Add any New Devices
Hi, I have a call logged with you via the Support portal, but there has been very little response and the site is soo soo slow. I cannot add any new devices to OPmanager, weather PC, Server,Router or switch. when i add the device it reports that it has been added Successfully, yet when i then search ....it say not added. I have done RemoveDB but this has not fixed it , i have also done a delete from deletedinterfaces, in the SQL database. The Repair DB does not seem to work either. These are not
Problem generating scheduled report
Hello guys, Our company is using OpManager Build 7023 and I'm trying to create report schedule. We have cisco routers and switches and i can have any report for switches but can't have report for routers. I suspect the problem might be because of firewall we are using. Device Multi-select
We need the ability to select all (or selectively) the devices on a map at the same time. E.g., we want to update each device with notification profiles, and would like to do this without having to go to each device individually. There are other configurations changes that would benefit from a multi-select option: - Dependency - Monitoring - Vendor - Category - Type - Passwords
Problem with server becoming unmanaged
Hi All, Just have a rather odd problem where a server will become unmanaged periodically (probably around 1 or 2 times per week). At the moment we are manually changing the status back to managed. We used to have a scheduled outage period of 30 minutes to reboot the server once per week, this was working as expected. We thought this may be the problem so we removed it and the problem is still occurring. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Chris

Hello, i was running for some time OpManager v6 ( don't know which build exact ) and everything was just fine but i thought to update to v7 and now for every new interface that i added the application is not making any graphs at all and display: "Sorry, no data available for Graph. Try other options. " Older interfaces left from the time when i used v6 are working ok ... with graph and some more information Help ? Regards.
Monitors show only "No data available"
Hi! I'm using OpManager7 (latest release) and have a problem with some monitors from a custom device template. The template and the monitors where created by a imported mib. When I do the request for those monitors over your mib-browser I am reveiving some data as expected but when I assign the device template to the same device (as used in mib-browser) it is only shown "No data available". Also I can't connect with WMI when I assign the custom device template. Only SSH or Telnet is possible. Maybe
Recomended image size reolution?
Hi, When I create a business view and add a backgroud image, the object in the business view gets moved around when I save it. I does not matter wether I use Mapmaker or if I edit the business view directly. I have used the original supplied backgroud images as well as other images with same resolution as the original ones, but the same problem. Is there any quick solution to this? Regards Bj�rn
device is partially removed or added and can not be modified
Hi, I added a switch as new device and created a new device template for this switch. Then this device was gone from my views. When I searched for this device, OPManager told me, it was not present. So I tried to readd the device and got the error in the attached screenshot. I can not remove the device, I can not readd it and I can not modify the device. So any Help??? Juergen

OpManager does not use more then 1 CPU?
Working with a large number of systems. When ever I make a global change in OpManager, I see 100% CPU usage, but only on one of the CPU's. Java is the process using the CPU. I have 16 cores in this system. Is this a configuration problem on my side, or is it a problem with OpManager?
