Hello, I am trying OpManager solution to replace our current Nagios system. I got it quickly running and performing SNMP data pooling (although you should add the extra steps of symlink in the script). So far so good. But now that I got how the system works, I notice some a first 'bug' or at least wrong data being feteched and shown in OpManager. I will add screenshots and comment everything. Problem with recording "Device Notes"
This was originally raised by Ousenko on the 6th Jan 2010. I added a note that I was having the same problem on the 22nd June 2010 but have not received a reply. Therefore I am raising it as a new question. Ousenko's original problem "....After recording all data on the device in the "device notes", they are saved. Where do you configure the DNS server IP address in OpUtiils5?
I found one place under IP Address Manager -> Settings where it calls for a "DNS Server Name" (wouldn't you need the IP address, though, not the name? How is it going to find resolve the name without a DNS server?). I've set that to the IP address of my machine running OpUtils5, since that machine is also running SimpleDNSPro. I can resolve local names and IP addresses via NSLOOKUP from a DOS Window, but the OpUtils5 reports and other things don't resolve private IP addresses to names, despite their

Can't add downtime schedule with end time lesser than start time
Hi all, I want to add downtime schudule for out office time from 5.00 PM to 8.00 AM but when I try to set downtime frequency by every day and set time from 17:00 to 8:00 the program don't allow this value like pictue below. Now I try to split downtime to 2 downtime schedule like this: 1. from 17:00 to 23:45 2. from 00:00 to 8:00 On rule 1. I can't set end time 00:00 because I lesser than start time then I will loss 15 minute for this configuration, please kindly recommend

Receive SNMP notifications from devices.
I've setup and started the Windows SNMP Service and disabled the SNMP Trap service. Then started OpManager and added my device's. But when I go to the website of a device and for example an APC UPS. And try to send a test trap to the OpManagers ip address there are no alerts showing up? I'm struggling with the problem now for hours, can't find in in the forum so a started a topic. Printer Monitoring
Hi I Have all my printers in opmanager and SNMP is working. When you go into the printers group though, it has the printer icon but not the box next to it which has the symbols. Also the olny monitor is Pages Printed. I want to be able to Toners, out of paper etc. We have all HP Printers Hope someone can help Thanks

Hi OpManager Team, i got a problem here. Before this my company data center using AD 2003 and Windows 2003 Server. On last week we upgraded it to new server using AD 2008 and Windows 2008 x64 server. Problem restoring SNMP access to Cisco Switches
Here is my situation: I've had snmp working fine on my switches until recently. The change relates to the switch's management IP address. My snmp credentials fail when monitoring the switch using the new IP: old IP 10.99.1.10 255.255.248.0 new IP 10.1.99.10 255.255.255.128 I can work around the issue by deleting and then re-adding the switch. Issues monitoring Cisco Switches/Routers Interfaces
Hi, Last week I was able to monitor the cisco interfaces on our switches/routers. I now have the following issue: - No interfaces appear in the interface tab for the devices. Issues monitoring windows services

Running OpManager in two OSs
I just found out that the Linux installation of OpManager is not going to support the monitoring of the installed Active Directory Servers, or the installed M$ Exchange server. We are seriously considering the the OpManager for Linux installation, can we run both the OpManager Deluxe on Linux and OpManager Professional for Microsoft, and have the messages forwarded to one console? Make them reportable from one Server?

Can opmanager be used as security event reporting
We are currently using a 3rd party tool not related to opmanager which collects the windows security event log so we can report on which user has logged on at what time and on which devices. Is it possible to have opmanager be used as audit survey for specific events like logons ?

CPU Utilization of VM
I am using Opmgr build 8052, Windows 2003 Sp2. I have added the ESX host (3.5) and try to test the monitor "CPU Utilization by VM" and it always returns "Error". There is no data for "Memory used by VM" either. I am using SNMP and CLI SSH to connect. Thanks.
Downtime schedule not saved
Hi all, I have a small question about the downtime scheduler. Our network supplier sends us maintenance notifications two weeks in advance. I would like to schedule some downtime for the affected location to prevent all the alerts being send when the connection is lost for a few minutes due to work being done on the line/router. When I enter all data in the downtime scheduler and click on save nothing is saved. No messages pop up. I'm returned to the downtime schedule overview that is empty.
OpManager not discovering devices
Just installed OpManager, went to discover devices and it just sits there at 0% completed forever. Tried several times. I'm able to add devices manually and they are monitored correctly from then on, but it will not go out and automatically discover. Any ideas? Can't find any errors in any log files. Thanks.

snmp trap mib browser
At the moment it is not working well browsing through mibs when searching for snmp traps to be added. It would be nice if the sorting and search options would be extended. Like sorting on alfabet, a choice to display 5, 10, 20 or 50 mibs on a screen. Can this be picked up ?
Windows Service Monitoring is showing the wrong executable
Is there a way to delete a Windows service as being remembered? So it does not show up when I go to add monitor from the device snapshot page. Here's an example of my problem. I was originally monitoring a windows service named "WebApp" that was run by executable "WebApp.exe". After performing an update to the application that runs this service the name is still "WebApp" but the executable is now "WebApplication.exe". WAN RTT - strange number of tests
Hi, I installed the OpManager 8070 demo. I configured a Cisco 3800 to run IP SLA tests. Then I configured 5 WAN RTT tests. The strange thing is that the number of columns is different test to test.
