Issue with ESX 4.1i to be added in OPManager upgrade to build 8811
Hello, I upgraded OPManager to build 8811 then I tried to add a new esx 4.1i in OPManager. I configured SNMP and created an account usable in OPManager to get information then ESX 4.1 is added but I got this error message Could not collect data, HTTPS connection may be slow or not responding. Probable reasons are timeout, more connections, invalid username and/or password. Username and password are working fine. Can you point me in direction that I can check? Best regards Philippe
Grouping of eventlog rules and notification profiles
It should be nice to group eventlog rules. In my case we have some eventlog rules with status ignor. When I could group this rules to one ignor group I only add one rule to a new server. Also grouping notificaiton profiles. Sending a mail and starting a program on the same trigger (e. g. eventlog rule, threshold etc).
Creating new device type
I want to add an APC AP9630. How do I add a new device type? More importantly, Where do I obtain the information for creating this device? I am not sure what information to ask the manufacturer. I see an APC7830, but I need to add a 9630. Thank you Drew Shafer

What's the easiest way to find MIBs & OIDS for specific devices? I have a ton of Dells, and some times they provide data and sometimes they do not -> I know the service credentials need to be correct, but this has been stumping me...I can have (2) Optiplex 380(s) and use the same template, but sometimes they will poll and other times they will not What is the best way to go about this when WMI & SNMP aren't connecting? I've read the documentation, but any pointers or quick tips on identifying configuration

Hello, I need to monitor folders under a FTP service. It means that I need to log via FTP then I need to check if a specific folder is available. I got this request from business due to some applications installed are using FTP as interface to exchange files. Is there a way to do it via OPManager ? How Can I do it? OPMANAGER - Problem with replication
Hi friends, I´m facing a problem with the replication between two machines with the OpManager failover installed. The problem is (Consider that all services are running normally): --> When I simulate a hard shutdown in the Primary Server the standby server assumes the application normally and after this when i try to get back the Primary Server services the same starts normally and tell to the Standby Server that is everything ok now and the Standby Server come back to monitoring the Primary Server

Display server properties with SQL addon monitoring take a LOT OF TIME
Hi everybody, We bought (and are still in test phase) the SQL monitoring add-on. And since i put the dashboard SQL on every SQL servers we have, then discovered every SQL instance and every DB attached to every instance. Now the opmanager website is lagging and sometimes freezing when (trying) display the server page. My config : Virtual Server windows 2003 R2 x64, 4 vCPU, 8 Go RAM. I have less than 500 devices and less than 500 interfaces monitored. and in the top of that,... the opmanager production

Bug: Can't add custom WMI monitor if the name begins with % character
Hi i've noticed while trying to add a custom WMI monitor that begins with % it doesnt work. After clicking ok the page briefly displays "Error" and then goes back to the server, no monitor added. Some examples of counters ive tried to add: Processor\%Processor Time Memory\% Committed Bytes In Use PhysicalDisk\% DiskTime Is there a work around for this? Regards Jared

Hi Support Team My Customer have problem about OpManager V.8 (Build 8723) . I install in Widows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition Service Pack 2 . My Problem is sometime the symbol in map not update status. I try to poll but it still the same. If i unmanage and manage it the symbol will update . Please help me to solve the problem. Is VMWare ESX server status linked to VM?
Hi, I have several ESX servers configured in OpManager each one running several VM's. On the ESX server there is no alarms, all the monitors are clear but the status of the server is trouble. It seems that the status of the ESX server changes depending on the status of the VM's that are running on it, is this correct? If it is, can it be configured somewhere? I don't want the status of my ESX server to change when there are alarms on the VM's. Each of the VM's usually have their own snapshot
Map View Missing Options
Recently we went to visit a company that was already using "OpManager" to see how they used it. We were interested to find that they appeared to have have additional options available to them when viewing a Business View. When they selected the Business View they had two additional menus; "Currently Showing" and "Set THis View as Default". The "Currently Showing" menu allowed them to view the map as a "Map View", "List" or "Traffic Map" (See below) When we look at our Business Views we dont get
Process Count
Hi We have a server that runs multiple instances of a process, i want to know when more than 15 instances are running. I've set this up but my problem is that an alarm is generated when the process is not running, in our case it is normal for the process to sometimes not run, i only want to know when more than 15 are running. Is this possible?
Update problem
Hi, Performing update 8810 on a 8722 results in a crash on the installation. After reboot server everything is back to "normal" but still 8722. Trying again results in a identical problem. I get this message in the event viewer mysqld-nt: Incorrect key file for table '.\opmanagerdb\objectstolink.MYI'; try to repair it Anyone suggestions to solve this matter? Thnx

Hello, How can I customize sms message for SNMP traps ? At the moment there is extra details: skd-hq-rb1 (Server) – Critical generated at May 16.2011 05:52:03 PM .1.3.6.1.4.1.1000.1.2: <trap info> OID and some words can be skipped. Can you please add customization in Admin ? Also, how can I choose sms length ? At the moment it's 125 chars, but it can be 160 chars. Thanks

Is it possible to set thresholds/alerts on "CPU Ready"? Data is being captured and is reported for each virtual machine, however i cant find where to setup an alert. Regards Jared
unable to configure OPManager to detect using SNMP the switches
I have this problem with OP Manager. I have already entered the RO and RW credentials to the switches but OP Manager cannot detect this. What appropriate Credentials must I use as well in OP Manager? It asks me for the following: Username Password Command Prompt Login Prompt Password Prompt Port Number: 23 Connection Protocol: Telnet I'm not entering this info when I' Telnet to the switches (only the password). I foresee that in v7, there is 95th percentile average in packet loss.what that's mean?but this data is no more in v8.

I am receiving several of these alarms a day from all of my Cisco switches. Best I can tell, I get these alarms when a computer is restarted or shut down. Normal Map view
We are currently running version 8723 for our customer and we prefer to see the normal "MAP View" for the business view. Previous versions allow you to select 3 types of view, List View, Map View and Traffic Map. However on our version only able to change it to either List View or Traffic Map view.
