I have 500 Domain controllers do you have a way to monitor Active directory? If so please let me know. I saw the package preview for exchange 2000/2003 and i think if you added an active directory monitor package that would be great.
Start OpManager as service
Hi all I need to start the OpManager on my linux automatically. I tried put into rc.conf. It failed. I try to login from SSH, I can start it, but as far as I closed the connection. OpManager closed. Is there any way to start the OpManager with the system boot up? Thanks
Cisco As5300
Dear Support, I added my cisco AS5300 device to the OpManager and it does not show me any interfaces and also it sends me a wrong alert. I am currently monitoring 2 cisco devices (Cisco 7206 and Cisco AS5300) I have setup a notification profile and associated to my cisco 7206 only. The problem is when the interface goes down on AS5300 device, the OpManager sends a notification that is associated with cisco 7206. What is the problem?

Server 2003 & Windows XP Resource monitors not collectin
I have the SNMP service configured on these systems with the public community set. Windows 2000 systems configured identically work. All of my XP and Server 2003 systems do not work. I have rediscovered since configuring SNMP and I have my blue star. I have no data for my default Mem/cpu/disk monitors, when I go into a trap config and click "Test Monitor" it shows "The Monitor did not respond to the test request" If I manually add a different monitor like "% disk use" it shows me a list of disks
snmp v3
Hello, I�m trying the opmanager demo, and want to setup snmp v3. In the MibBrowser only see snmp v1 y v2c. Is there any way to set snmp v3?? I have not found nothing in the documentation. Thank you very much!! Jesus
Unable to gather CPU Utilitization / other Resource Monitors
I'm currently trying to monitor a Compaq Server running Windows NT. I see the Blue icon next to the server name, but unable to gather the CPU and other resources monitor; i'm however able to get the information from the vendor specific monitors but it doesn't show up on the front page or the device dashboard. Any help please.
Notification Suspension --- This only exists in java client?
I haven't seen on the web client the "Notification Suspension" configuration. Is this something that has not been ported over from the java client? We want that functionality to exist via web access. I use OpManager more than my counterparts, so while I know I can do this from the java client, I don't feel that there should be a challenge for the user, to discern which client to use for something simple like suspending notifications on a device, while it is being worked on. need an assigned to custom field
need an assigned to custom field. in the alert screen when an alert is acknowledged i would also like to have a custom assigned to field option. for example alert is in an acknowledged state and it can also read assigned to server operations. Please let me know how i can do this. thank you

Please tell me fast what kind of installation (full opmanager) on windows server has to be done so that i can monitor services on that server. Or Does Opmanager gets installed by itself when i give the administrator password of that server to Opmanager?? Plz answer this fast..
No devices to add for common U/P under Quick Config Wiz
I'm trying to add a common U/P for my windows servers, but when I get to the point to choose what devices to apply this password to, the list is blank. I've got the devices for all the other Quick Config items, just not the Windows U/P one. I'm using 5.5 build 5510. Any ideas?
Availability Reports / UPS monitoring
Hi People Thanks so far for a great product. We're running tests atm to see whether it's mature enugh for live usage, and we have come across a number of issues. 1. Availability Reports. Strangely enough, the graphs showing the availability, is somehow wrong. Fx. the percentage for, let's say 7 days, show 99,96, but the bargraph shows only 3/4 filled. Other bargraphs also shows almos 100% filled, put has a percentage around 86. I looked at your demo, and I noticed that all your percentages was written
SNMP
I am running Opmanager 5.5 build 5510, I have the snmp service configured on my servers. When I try to confirm a device, I keep get the error "Please check whether the device is SNMP enabled and check the community strings. Everything looks good on my end, can you please help?
Device Support
We just bought OpManager and I am setting up my devices. I have a couple of devices that I'd like to get data/graphs from. Avocent KVM switch DSR2010 Brocade Silkworm fiberswitch NetApp F740 Filer It would be cool to see the fiberswitch in a similiar view to network switches with each port, etc... I have MIBs for these. Also, if I have WMI setup to monitor event logs on my windows servers is there any benefit of having SNMP setup too? Is there a difference between the two in what data you can get
hide unmonitored interfaces from cust view
Hi, Is there anyway to hide interfaces from customer view? I can see the value to have inactive interfaces such as inventory needs. However, I would like to be able to simplify the customer(read only) view so they will not get confused by those extra "noise"... Thanks, Min
Windows DHCP Server false alarm
I have a Win2K server running a DHCP Server. I add the corresponding Windows Service Monitor, but opmanager tell me the service is down. Though, the service is running (and working) any idea ?
Several questions... remote agent, downtime, admin rights
Are there remote agents or do you have plans to include remote agents in the future? Is there a way to schedule down-time by network (ip range)? Are there supposed to be functions only "admin" can do? I have a user account with full access, but can't add a down-time schedule. Thanks in advance, JP
Found a bug?
I have a router being monitored by opmanager, or should i say i used to have it being monitored. I made the mistake of setting the monitoring interval to 0 minutes, and instead of giving me an error, it now says "unable to find the object : followed by the router's address", when i try to go to the snapshot page. If i search for the router, it is still listed, so i can not add it again. Is there any way to recover this device, or remove it and add it again?

URL monitor bug?
I can add a "standalone" URL monitor called "www.mysite.net", but when I come to edit it, OpManager says that my monitor name contains special characters. It's the periods that are causing the problem. alec

Hi, I have added three servers in the xxx.yyy.zzz.224/28 network, but the network itself doesn't show up in the list of Network Views. Also, the Java client (which does show the network) shows it up as "unmanaged" despite the presence of the three servers. Don't know what's going on! :) thanks a lot, alec
Network Discovery bug?
Hi, I'm trying to auto-discover a network 192.168.12.192/27 so I enter "192.168.12.192" in the "Network IP" field, and select "255.255.255.224" as the subnet mask. When I hit "Add Network" it says "Please enter a valid Network Address". 192.168.12.192 bitwise ANDed with 255.255.255.224 equals 192.168.12.192, so it is a valid network address. Why can't I enter it? It seems a zero is required in the last octet for it to be accepted. many thanks, alec

Problem when monitoring CPU on AIX server
Hello ! I monitor the CPU of my AIX 5L server with the HOSTRESSOURCE mib. It works fine, but the problem is that I have always the same value : -2147483648 I think this is a confusion between signed and not signed integer ... somebody know this problem ? Any suggestion ? Thank you
User traps & critical status
Whenever I send a user defined trap from my server it sets the status to critical. Is there any way to configure the status according to the message that is received? Some of our messages are critical but some are more informative & diagnostic coming before critical alarms need to be tripped. Thank you. John

Difference between Professional Edition and Free Edition

Ping time out
Hi We have recently purchased OpManager 5.5 and installed. It ihas not identified D-Link 1750 routers as routers and had to manually configure. Mopreover the second hop routers are shown as criitical even though they are available. The ping delay is morethan 2 secs for those routers. How can I increase ping delay in Opmanager? Web INterface remote edition
Web INterface urls become unclickable after a while. also im having discovery problem with my routers it worked fine in the regular opmanager but not in remote edition.
