Cluster/VIP Monitoring
I have multiple Virtual IP addresses within my environment which I must monitor. Additonally, my Exchange and MSSQL environments are clustered and as such I can only monitor the Exchange/MSSQL resources if I monitor the VIP's. How can I do this?
OpManager and NetFlow Running on Same box Problem
Hello - I have OpManager 5.6 and Netflow Analyzer 4.2 running on the same box, but when I got to integrate Netflow into OpManager for the instructions, when I put in the IP address of the machine and the port of 8080, it cannot find the server. "Unable to establish connection to NetFlow Server" is the error. And to answer a couple stupid questions, yes the service is running, and yes I can log into NetFlow and look at data. Suggestions/Tips/General Help for me? Bill
Monitor Connections to Server
Hi, I am wondering if there is a script out there to moniter connections to a file server... As we would like to generate a report on the number of connections over a time period to see the number of users connected. Does OpManager have something like this? I have had a bit of a look that have not been able to find anything. Thanks, Gavin
advanced config: running more than one product same server
Hi guys! The question is quite simple, can i run multiple products under de same server? using the same app server and the same db server? what should i do to acomplish this? for example, what do i need to do in order to run let say... opstor, sd and appmanager on the same server using the same db and the same app server? is this posible? RFC1514 - No such variable name ; in Windows!!??
This is a real strange one. I am monitoring a range of Windows servers with the standard 'HOST-RESOURCES-MIB' without a problem. I'm getting the CPU, memory & disk utilization , plus anything else i browse for under the mib... ....except on these two checkpoint firewall modules (running on Windows2000)! they respond with: "Request failed or timed out. Response PDU received from x.x.x.x Error Indication in response: There is no such variable name in this mib. Errindex: 1" on things as basic as 'hrSystemUptime'

Multiple Thresholds
What is the proper way to have upper and lower thresholds for the same monitored value? I want to be notified if the temp goes under 50 or over 80? Are you supposed to do two different custom monitors, one for the lower and one for the upper? Is this a feature that may or can be added in future releases? OpManager 5.6. Thanks!
Monitor Interval
Hi, I set the monitor interval for my network device on 30 min., but if any port on switch or any service on server will be down I have to waiting 30 min? or this status change is send to the monitor station? If I configure a threhold I have waiting 30 min to receive an alarm? Another question: .- Do I have to configure "SNMP Trap service" in opmanager server? .- How I put in a business view several device group in the same network? Have I add one by one? .-
Zyxel Switch isn�t correctly identified
OPManager finds (via SNMP) the Zyxel ES 2008 Switch, but shows me 11 Ports instead of 9 Ports! Number 11 is regonized as "ethernet switch low driver". What�s going on? CU, Alexej
Threshold will not be saved
i'have a problem: when i create an threshold for an custom monitor, it will be not saved. in my opinion the problem is that there is an "special" instance for this value is there a solution for this problem? (i found a similar topic but there wasn't a solultion) thanks, martin
snmp passwords
Under OpManager Home Servers pick the server I want to look at: Then to the right is the password panel It has the snmp details, and then another window that has Login details username password I am using a user that has monitor rights to the win2k3 server. Is this password that is sent to login, in the clear or is it somewhat encrypted.?

Windows Server 2003 not recognised
Hi, I have this setup on a LAN XP machine and have added all my server devices, FireWALLS & switches totalling 10 devices. For some reason 2 Windows 2003 boxes appear as desktops, so I have input the password details, edited the device type & ensured that SNMP is installed on these devices. Thye now appear in thye server maps but still the SNMP blue star does not appear beside them & I cannot view the asset or NIC details from the console.. Is there some xtra setting in 2003 that I am missing?? Thanx
Blank space in directory path when loading mibs
I've tried to use the Mib Browser to load a Mib but it complains about not finding the file under C:\Program where the file infact is located under C:\Program Files\... where do I change what directory the Mib files are located? /Fredrik

How can you add custom infrastructure views? IE instead of using the preset server,switches ect.
Cannot read NT4 domain controller event logs
I am getting "event service down" on my NT4.0 domain controllers in OpManager. The user/password I specified is in the Local Administrators group for the domain, and I can login as that user to another machine and access the event logs on the NT4.0 server. Is there anything else that needs to be done to get this to work? None of my event log alerts are firing off.

How to do copy and paste several devices from network view to business view? I know that when I created a business view can adds devices from the list, but in my case I tried to add several devices ( a lot ) to a business view and all of them are in a network view, is most easy for me copy and paste. Hello, I need to report on aggregate rx/tx utilization on some gigabit ports on 2 of my switces. Unfortunately I cannot find a way of doing this. What I would like (as this has to be presented to our CEO) is a list of all the gb ports with a total rx/tx over the last day or last week. Is this possible Regards Scott. :cry:
Custom Monitor Problem
I need to set a threshold for monitoring freespace in GB, but for each drive separately. I tried to setup a custom monitor using (.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.4.5(.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.5-.1.3.6.1.2.1.25.2.3.1.6))/(1073741824) where .5 is the instance from the GB monitor that you guys provide. This should give me the free space in GB on the M: drive of the server that I'm trying to monitor. When I try to add that custom monitor, it says that it does it successfully but it never shows up under the device.
RPC not available
I am having an issue trying to monitor Windows System services. I am going through a FW to a DMZ and authenticating to another domain. I have the right password, RPC is running on the destination servers I am trying to hit, but cannot get a connection. Any help would be appreciated. I can get to another domain across that same FW, but am having issues with the one on the DMZ. Thanks, Bob
server startup problems
I trying to run OpManager from an XP pro host, where I'm also running my webserver and mysql. Through these boards I managed to overcome the first opstacle (datadir in my.ini pointed to a non-existing folder, which I then created). Now I'm getting this message, when trying to start OpManager server from command line: SQLException while getting database connection. Devices Are Not Discovered Correctly
Devices are not discovered correctly even after adding the OID and creating a new custom device type. Once I add the device type shouldn't each subsequent like-device be discovered correctly and automatically categoried as the appropriate device? I am running build 5604.
Setting up WAN monitoring
I am using 2 firewalls and have a branch office VPN between them. How do I setup monitoring on that connection? I would like to know amount of data passed over the VPN, up times, speeds, etc. I have workstations and printers on the other side of this WAN and can see them without issue.
Used disk space seems wrong on OP manager.
Dear all: The version of OP manager is �5610�, it�s installed on Windows 2003 server. The snapshot of disk utilization shows normally. The used disk space doesn't not match the output of Linux command �df -k�. I notice that the value of resource monitor item �free disk space in GB� is keep on 1(GB). An Error while Sending E-mail in Window 2000 Professional
My operation system has two kinds of verison, one is Window 2000 pro for English Version and the other is for Chinese Version.,When I configure E-mail and trigger sending E-mail operation. In Chinese Version ,everythin is just fine(the mail can be sent and received normally). Regarding the main page
Hi everybody, I would like to know if it's possible to share the main page between several users in OpManager. For example, to have statistics about router/server/appz like in the main page when we use the "admin" account but using an other account we have just access to manage a few Business Views. Unable to launch OpManager 5.6 server on XP

How is it possible to set a schedule to monitor desktops, so that after working hours the desktops don't get monitored (we disconnect the computers before going home). Antonio
How difficult it will be to fix the session timeout!?
It has been long time since a few of us reported the miss behave of session timeout+refresh interval of the web session. Basically, user is forced to choice between 1) to have a web session never timeout but no update/refresh or 2) to see the updates by the configured time interval without noticed the page timeout after a while. Such "feature" made the alarm monitoring useless because the operator either monitor a timeouted page or watch a page do not have real time alerts. We have a few instances
Application Monitor - MSSQL, Lotus Notes not working
I am not getting any data using application monitoring on MSSQL and Lotus Notes. The servers has snmp enabled (and sqlserveragent enabled on the server with mssql) and are able to collect data for the rest of the services. None of the parameters in the MSSQL and Lotus Notes application monitoring works for me. I tried using the MIB browser to trace the value but it showed the message 'Request failed or timed out. No error'. Please help.

Thresholds will not be generated with custom monitors
I all, I have a custom monitor, checking the temperature of my APC Power Supply. I set a threshold for this monitor, but the threshold can not be saved. There is always "No Threshold" in my Device-properties page. When setting a threshold for another monitor e.g. Memory utilization, the threshold is saved and works. Is there a bug, that thresholds will not work with custom monitors? Juergen
Printer Monitoring
Is it possible to monitor an installed printer that is listed in the Windows printers list? For example, when I go to "Printers and Faxes" on my Windows server, can I pick one of those printers to be monitored in OpManager? The printer is not a network printer, but is a local printer connected to a port like LPT1. Thanks

MySQL
I've been attemting to use the opManager server for other functions, one of which requires MySQL. What is the admin user/pass for SQL? can I use the OpManager installed MySQL? Why do I receise an error 10061 (can't connect to localhost) when I test the SQL communication? Thanks and great product.
Device Type Hangs
When I click "Device Type" in OpManager while under the properties of an object, the page hangs, never produces the Device Type page, and never times out. I am running build 5604
