How to enable MIB or SNMP in Windows
Hi, I have installed the trial version of Opmanager in my Windows 2003 server. I am not able to see the graphs and monitor the desktops and servers. I came to know that i need to configure MIB or SNMP. I tried both but it is not working for me. Can you please guide how to configure the MIB with OID and let me know how to monitor each servers. How to change port 8009 and 8005
Hi, Ports 8009 and 8005 are in conflict with the web interface of "VMware Virtual Center 2.0.x" (based on tomcat). How to change port 8009 and 8005 in Opmanager ? I tried to modify file ../conf/ports.properties, but when I start OpManager, the service hang and I get a web page with "Internal Server Error". Best Regards, DPE
Domain Controllers
Is there any way to keep my domain controllers from going into the domain controller category view? I do not have licensing for the domain controller monitoring, and want my domain controllers to be treated as regular servers. Annoyingly, I have to move them back to the server category frequently. Could you change the program so that if you do not have a license for the domain controller monitoring, it doesn't automatically discover domain controllers and move them? Thanks! Shawn

Ability to set Thresholds in MB?
I have a server with a rather small hard drive. It would be nice if I could set the "critical" threshold in megabytes, but the "clear threshold" level in gigabytes. Any possibility of this? David.
Migrating to Opmanager MSP
We are thinking of replacing all our OpManagers by OpManager MSP. Is it possible to export all the settings from to current Opmanager installations and import them into the OpManager MSP probe?
Scrolling problem in OPM client
Hello, I am unable to scroll the entire bkgrnd image in OPM client when I add one in a business view, however I can access the entire image through webclient. This problem does not allow me to place the devices in areas where I want to. Any help is very welcome. I am using OPM 5.6. Thanks in advance.

Uploaded MIB shows as Undefined in MIB Browser
I uploaded a MIB I downloaded from APC's web site. I uploaded it into OpManager. Now when I select it in the MIB Browser list, it does not show the MIB tree. It only shows the word "undefined". Anyone seen this or have any ideas? Sounds like a problem with the structure of the MIB file.

Directory monitoring
Can OpManager monitor a directory on a network (either through share name or UNC) and tell if a file is placed in that directory or deleted or changed. I have an application that creates a text file daily at approximately the same time of day and need to find a monitoring solution that can check to see if the file has been created. Clustered Exchange 2003 WMI Monitoring
I am running the free version of opmanager as a trial to see if it is something I want to purchase. I am trying to get the WMI Exchange 2003 application monitor running. It keeps telling me that the class is invalid when I try to add it. I have rebuild the counters, and have comfirmed in perfmon that I can see, and collect data from the counters. I can add a WMI counter for CPU, Memory, Disks.... so it isn't a permission issue, any thoughts?

no option for device icon change

Are their are any plans to support OpsManager on FreeBSD. I tried to install it using FreeBSD's Linux compatibility package and get "ELF binary type "0" not known." error when trying to execute binary installation file.

Hi guys! I've just checked out the trial edition of OpManager, and I think it is truly an awesome product! However, I'm thinking I may need the MSP edition. Do I? We are an engineering company with 18 offices in 3 states. We have DCs at each location, as well as Cisco Pix's file servers, etc. In one office we have exchange, some web servers in several offices, etc. Would we benefit from using the MSP edition? What could the MSP edition give us that the regular edition doesn't?

Incorrect password locking out account
We went through our monthly password rotation and somewhere in OpManager a login is using an incorrect password. I have checked all of the server and desktop items, but none seem to have the username with the incorrect password. Is there a tool for MySQL that will search for any occurence of the incorrect password in any table and let me update it with the correct one? If not, how can I clear the database of ALL data, other than uninstalling and reinstalling the entire package? Thanks. -Eric.
Same traps, different severities
Hello, I am looking for a way to set trap severities to be different, depending on the device they are coming from. For example, a link up trap should be "clear" from a server, but "attention" from a switch. We have multiple places under Enterprises where this would be useful. Can this be done?

SNMP Write Access to devices
I am new to opmanager and SNMP in general and have a few questions I hope you can help me understand. Is security a big concern with SNMP? Or should I stick with the default "public" and "private" community names? How much access does OpManager need? If I only enable the default public read, will I be able to do everything in OpManager? What does write or change permissions in SNMP get me? Thanks for the info. Any thoughts on the subject would be appreciated.
Add device sits to infinity?
Hello everyone! I'm trying to add some machines to OpManager, but every time I fire of Add Device, the page sits with the hourglass. I've tried this on firefox as well as internet explorer, and at this point I've left it running for more than 30 minutes. This happens on machines regardless of whether I have snmp enabled on the system or not. Any suggestions on how I might correct this? Error Parsing MIBs without Newlines between IMPORTS

Business View Problems
Hello, i made in Business view. How can i make the business view to full screen?? in the Business view i watch a computer. when i shut down the computer there businnes view make no update and sayy all is ok. when i click on the computer he says shut down. how get i an automatic update of the view? the service intervall is on 1 minute but no update. regards
GE UPS Monitoring
Has anyone managed to get GE UPS's monitored by OpManager? I've followed the guide at http://forums.manageengine.com/forumHome.do?forumGroupId=49000000002007&forumTopicId=49000002635835& , but I still get N/A or data not available in the graphs. I've attached the ups_monitors.xml file in case I've missed something fundamental!
Probe may be down/busy.Operation timed out
When I try to add Windows services to a specific server I constantly get "Probe may be down/busy.Operation timed out " I get this error when I am running on the Central Server or on the Probe itself. I can select one of the dozen or so "canned" services from the list and add them successfully. However if I get the above error and click OK or Cancel, it erases the previously saved service entries.
Comparison Professional, Premium und MSP Edition
Hi, i need to monitor some Server from Clients, i just found your software and sounds nice, what i didnt really understand is, the MSP Edition is the Premium Edition with some more addons, or the Professional Edition with some Addons. I need to monitor SQL-Server, Windows Server and Exchange. Everything is for diffrent customers.......and one more question....payment is only given in Dollar...I'am from Europe and would like to use Euro, is it possible?...so i can check what is the price in Euro!
Monitors not showing any data
Our monitors of our equipment stopped showing any data? Have tried supprt sites to no avail. Can not figure out how to get the data showing again. Opmanager 6.0 build 6005 is the version I am using. Thanks
Problem while restoring the Opmanager

Please note that i have created a backup folder in Opmanager root folder and than run the restoredb.bat file in DOS mode. Dashboard dials not working
Hi there. We had a few servers successfully reporting fully to OpManager including the dashboard status dials, but after a backup and restore of the opmanager MSP server database, now one of the servers which is a DC doesn't show information in the dials. SNMP is configured with correct traps etc and hasn't changed since it was working, and you can go into any SNMP or WMI monitor on the server and it does show all current reporting values and even the Active Directory information is all being successfully
