OpManager remote monitoring errors
I am a user that monitors a network using a remote log in to OpManager. I work off of two different networks, on the primary one that I use to monitor OpManager I continue to get errors. I am using I.E. and get the error "12152: unknown". On the other network, I can monitor all day with no errors. Unfortunately, due to network security restrictions, I do not have access to all of the settings on both networks to be able to comare security settings, etc. Does anyone have an idea as to what would

All maps gone
Hi, We just purchased Opmanager after a month of evaluation. When we recieved the serial I reinstalled the server to have a fresh start. I have added all our devices and set the correct speed of 500+ tunnelinterfaces and built maps for different businessareas. After a restart of the server however, all our maps are gone! Even the built in ones (see pic below). - - - cut - - - If I add the widget "Business View Summary" to my dashboard I can see all the views I made and number of devices
Version mismatch
Greetings, Just a curious question here, I was looking through my Add/Remove Programs on a server running OpManager, and in there it details that I am currently running OpManager v.6 when I am currently running v.8. Just unusual, but wondering if any one else has noticed a similar action. Rob

Disk Utilization seen on Op is different than the Solaris Server
Hi, I've recently noticed that the Op disk utilization for one of my Solaris Server is giving me a 98% disk utilization. I've gone into the server mentioned and performed a manual check on the harddisk space. How to create a custom "CLI" monitor for Windows servers?

I am trying to increase the amount of RAM that OpManager uses and I used this script to increase the size from 200 to 1000 but I do not notice any increase in the amount of RAM that OpManager uses. I assumed that this function is similar to setting MS SQL to use a fixed amount of memory, is this indeed what it is used for? I'm running OpManager on Redhat AS 3.
Add Link problem (in BisinessView Editor)
Hi, I created new Link (etc. between 2 routers) in BisinessView Editor and selected Interfaces on first and second routers in Link Properties but Opmanager 8007 can save only one Interface (checked). Why ? Slava.
MSSQL Data Files Size showing in KB
The Counter \General: Data File Size is showing in KB which is causing issues with the MIN/MAX/AVG figures. The attached image is just one of our database's, with all database's on all servers doing exactly the same thing. Is there a way to change the size from KB to MB or GB? It would be great if OpManager could detect the size of the file and represent the size in the most appropriate way. Any help would be greatly appreciated as showing a scientific equation on a report is not ideal. Thanks,
MIB File could not be parsed
I'm getting errors when trying to load the Traps on a MIB File using SNMP Trap Processors - Load from Mibs. and I'm getting the errors from the logs below. Could you please check the file to see if there are characters that Opmanager can't handle? The file does not contain underscores. Device Downtime Scheduler Report?
Is there a way or a report that will show what the scheduled downtime is for a device? I've got over 50 diffrent downtime schedules and diffrent devices in each. I would like a way to look at a device and see what its a member of. Thanks

Raw data should be saved one year at least!
I think the raw data of opmanager should be kept for one year at least, if I want to drill down to history data before 7 days, I can not find any valuable lead! Many network monitor systems all have this feature, why opmanager not??? By other side, the raw data can be used to audit! So, I think this feature should be realized in opmanager! Expecting good news from opmanager team!
How to view total bytes in/out on a port?
I need a simple report that says: For Time Period "X" (last month, week, day, etc), 'Y' Bytes RX and 'Z' Bytes TX Out Port 1/1. The reports that SHOULD give this type of information do not give any aggregate value. I only see min/max/ave for the time period and some value per day/hr (depending on time period). Given that you collect the actual ifIn/OutBytes values from the switch ports, you should be able to tell me how many bytes have gone in/out of that port for any time period. I haven't

Hi! Sorry for this question but I don't understand how to fill the map "URLs". Is this an overview of all url monitors that I've added in OpManager? I am monitoring some devices which are filled with url monitors. Should the be shown automatically in Maps->URLs? I am asking because this view is completly empty. Or do I have to add them manually? Interface and port reports
Hello, We'd like to be able to draw stats from multiple ports on an interface in one report, or even pick a switch, one or more interfaces within the switch and one or more ports on the selected interface(s) into a combined report. Is this possible? We have some devices, like blade enclosures and large computer systems with multiple LAN ports on mulitple interfaces, as well as a number of 24- & 48-port switches where this type of report would be useful. I have this problem on detecting the switch names. I ahve configured the SNMP and everything works normal, my probelm is how to detect the switch name instead of the IP Address. SMS notification time
Hi I have got 15 servers. Poll interval is 5min. If I shut down the server, after about 8min the server status is Attention. Then I have to wait again about 8min and then the stauts Trouble. And then again after some time I get the Critical state and as soon as the server has this state I get an SMS. Where could I change the time, that I get this SMS earlier. After about 10 min? F5 BigIP Traffic Mgmt CPU Util Custom Monitor
Has anyone sucessfully created a custom monitor for the TM CPU Util on a F5 BigIp. According to the F5 docs, the TMM CPU Util is calculated as follows: TMM CPU Usage = ((<DeltaTmTotalCycles> - (<DeltaTmIdleCycles> + <DeltaTmSleepCycles>)) / <DeltaTmTotalCycles>) *100 So I tried the following custom graph. Problems after upgrade to Opmanager 8 sp1
First problem I noticed was that all the devices have now lost their interfaces. Although I still get alerts that where previously set up so I know the interfaces are monitored the interfaces tab simply displays No interfaces are there for this device. If I click "Rediscovery" then the interfaces are listed, I tick them and select "Add" and I am told Interfaces added successfully but they are not. I tried removing and re-adding a device but it did not work. I tried adding a device that has previously
After Upgrade to V8 build 8010 all interfaces disapeared on all devices
I haven't checked every single device but every device I've checked so far since the upgrade is showing "No interfaces are there for this device. " This was most noticable as the firewalls are not showing interfaces so I could not configure the real time bandwidth utilization. If I click "Rediscover interfaces" the full list of interfaces is shown. I select them and click 'add' and it tells me they have been added sucessfully but they do not appear. I do still get error messages regarding the non-showing
Screen Scaling
Hi support team, just to let you know, the latest hotfix 8020 still shows the same issue with screen scaling: On a secondary screen with lower resolution than the primary screen it appears that scaling of the dashboard layout is based on the primary screen's resolution. This happens with IE8 but not with Firefox 3.11. Regards GWeiss
Monitor a Sharepoint Site
I am trying to monitor a sharepoint site and after setting it up I get the following error: The URL http://iycdev.isdonline.net is down, Reason : Host Unavailable I can monitor any other site exept a sharepoint Site. I read a post about a "cryptix-jce-provider.jar." but I the information seemed vague (too me anyway) as I am not sure how to get from the zip to the jar format. we would like to possibly purchase this applicaiton, but need to get the sharepoint url monitor working. Trap always captured as unsolicited trap
My customer has a custom made system which will execute a java script to send snmptrap alarm. We tried to set OpMgr to be the trap receiver. We have loaded the MIB file, unfortunately it always captured as unsolicited trap. I also created a trap processor from the unsolicited trap list but everytime the script send a trap it still goes to unsolicited trap list. attached is the mib file and java script.
Additional Device Categories
Current device categories (server, desktop, domain controller etc) dont cover all current device types out there. It would be nice be able to create either custom categories, or have a few others defined within opmanager e.g. Wireless Devices Storage Devices Backup Devices Misc/Other Devices This is perhaps more relevant as NAS and SAN products are now more prevalent in the marketplace.
Sorting by Interface Index
It seems that since our upgrade to version 8 of OpManager (I am on version 8010), the interfaces on the snapshot page of our Cisco 7606 router are no longer sorted on the IFINT number. If I look at the Configure Interfaces utility under the Actions Menu, the interfaces are sorted as expected. They are not sorted by IFINT number under the interfaces tab on the snapshot page however. How can I accomplish this? Not having this feature makes locating interfaces quickly difficult. Am I missing something?
URL problems - Proxy configuration
Hi, I am trying to monitor external and internal URLs (URLs in the Internet and in the local hosts) with no sucess. When the proxy is enable receive "Host Unavailable" to internal and external URLs, then I disable the proxy and it's possible to monitor the internal URLs but not the external. Notification Profiles 2 missed Polls
Currently notification profiles only support 1, 3 or more missed polls. Whilst you can increse the polling interval to, it would be good to have 2 as an option for missed polls. For example, you might consider that a device on a 5 minute poll, if it misses 1 poll, it could be a network error or slow performance of the device responding. However if you wait for 3 missed polls, you will be waiting 15 minutes before being alerted. Whilst both are ok options, it would be nice to have 2 missed polls as
Custom Fields pulled from SNMP query & Warranty information
Its possible to create custom fields to assign to devices. It would be nice to have not only the option to make these standard text entry boxes (as they are now) but perhaps also link these to templates so that they could pull custom static SNMP information. As an example, with a HP Proliant server, the HP/Compaq mib, provides a location to query the serial number, product ID etc of the unit. It would be good to be able to add this information automatically, which I assume would be best performed
Auto Select Started Services when adding services
When adding Windows Services Monitors, if opmanager could auto check the boxes for services that are already started to speed up the process of selecting what you want to monitor. Alternatively, rather than a select all, perahps there could be a "select all started" option.
Downtime/Maintenance Scheduler
Currently the Downtime schedulers are only available to be managed from a probe, rather than central control. We would like to be able to manage these at the central. It would also be beneficial to have the ability to schedule downtime for a probe (if the probe server is rebooted). Finally, we patch Windows servers 2nd Tuesday of every month (which is when Microsoft release patches), as such it would be great to have the option to set downtime as being a repetitive “2nd Tuesday of every month” or
