WMI Monitor Issues
When trying to monitor CPU, Memory, and Disk Utilization using WMI It fails to get results. When performing the test I noticed that it looks like there is a bad path when trying to run the scripts. Opmanager is looking in the directory "/conf/applications/scripts" when the directory is named "/conf/application/scripts". I have attached screenshots for reference. Generating Alerts
We have a lot of Opmanager alerts for certain servers, routers, switches, networks, etc that send out an email to an alert distribution group when one device/system goes down. What we would like to do is to create a kind of master alert that would watch say 3 different devices and then send out an email to an escalation distribution group if only if all 3 go down . I'm not sure if this is clear, but let me know if you have any questions. I'm looking to see if this is possible?
Microwave Radios and OpManager
Hi. Has anybody successfully setup some microwave radios in OpManager? When I setup as a desktop or server, I am able to snmp get the traffic interfaces, but beyond that, all I can see is the icmp ping. I want to get at the RSL and TX power, among other, performance monitors inherent to microwave. When I attempt to use the relevant microwave mib through device template, the options are all non relevant to microwave radios
Disk information
Does anyone know you you can pull in exact disk information for a server. I wold like to run a report for all of our server to include disk information. For example if we have a server with 2 drives C:=30GB and D:=450GB I wold like to see this information in the report. Any ideas?
Can monitor com+ applications?

hi all... i seem to get this error on all domain controllers.. anyone else having the same problems ?? all domain controllers seems to be ok with no other problems apart from this --> ( OS Processor Queue Length ) increasing the threshold seems to be the easiest solution..but.. will there be implications if threshold is increased..?? thank you in advance..FRESKO

RSS feed for patches
Gonna try to post this again.... Can we please get an RSS feed for the "Announcements" section? Also, I'd like to see a way to get a custom feed for all the products I use so I can stay up to date (rather than a feed for ALL your products). Thanks
server freezes but still respons on ping
hi, one of our most critical servers sometimes hangs up, when this happen people cant use our bussinessystem etc etc (the server is a sql server). the problem is that it still replies to ping, and no event logs are created until the server has been restartded. so we have a server that "tricks" opmanager that it is running based on ping answers, and we dont have any log events for triggering an alarm - what can be done in this situation if we want some kind of surveillance?

Could someone please explain, or point me to reference material, what/how values are used to develop report data for system uptime stats? i.e., what values are used to determine availabilty, total down time, onhold, on maintenance etc. metrics? Thanks.

Where do the interface utilization threshold get assigned for a Cisco router? I cannot find the threshold listed for the router.

Hi there, When I add an device icon into the map it comes attach with the device name or ip adress. I want to know if the attached device name or ip adress can be remove or also can be change from position, so I can make the map more viewable.
not show the database of instance
Hi all, I'm monitoring my MSSQL Server. I see the instance of my MSSQL, but not its databases. OpManager does not return errors, and wmi service is start on remote server. If I want to add a database, I can't, because the database list is empty. Loris
Remove text from device icon
Hi there, When I put the device icon into the map I get the icon plus the name of the device. I want to know if it is possible to remove the text (ip or name) of the device. and if it is possible how can I remove it. so I can get only the device icon.
MRTG like view of the traffic graphs
Hi, It would be useful to have a view of the traffic graphs like in MRTG where all the graphs are shown on one page, two columns (customizable) because then its very easy to correlate the peaks on different servers with for example the peak on the Internet port.
SNMP Trap Processor using a MIB
Dear people, Im tryen to add a SNMP Trap Processor using a MIB from HP. I would like to add the following mib: cpqcr.mib from the upd830Bmib.zip (HP MIBS) file. But when i add it i get the following error: IMPORTS failed: Could not open file C:/PROGRA~1/ADVENT~1/ME/OPMANA~1/./mibs/CPQHOST-MIB I copied all the mib to the mib folder. Anybody?

Installation woes (OpManager 8 / SQL Server 2005 Standard)
Hello all, I'm currently trying to install OpManager 8 using a SQL Server backend (instance), e.g. Hostname = <ServerName>\<Instancename> but keep on getting the Hostname is not recognised error. Am I missing a trick here? Cheers Chris Fenton

Real-Time Dashboard Widgets do not indicate when a threshold is breached

Device Down for over 3 minutes but no Alerts ?
Hi, We have a number of Nortel Passport switches, we have set monitoring poll for every minute with an e-mail alert notification for 3 missed polls. According the reports the devices were down for a period of 3 minutes 31 seconds, but we did not receive any alerts for this. The down time is for 5 days ago, but i cannot find anywhere that will give me the granular detail that i need, the exact polls that it missed, weather they were consectivie polls or over a given period. Can you advise please.

I am trying to monitor via cli on linux redhat systems. I can putty to the system but can not get opmanager to connect. what is the best config for this ?
Port Number Change
I realize that there is a Change Port number .bat file that I can use to change the port number that OpManager is on, but mine doesnt seen to allow me to change it. Anyone got suggestions on how I can change it another way? Please replay as soon as possible. Thank you! James

Change Linux CLI memory count
Under Linux OpManager will look at the used memory and then display that, but this information includes the file cache which results in a value almost always in the high 90s and renders the counter useless. What OpManager needs to do is take the value of used minus the buffers and cached values to return a value of how much memory is really tied up, since file cache can be dropped instantly and thus there's no reason not to use all memory not allocated to applications for the file cache. e.g.
how can I monitor Active directory and Exchange
I have enable snmp on my domain controler. Opmanager can monitor CPU, MEMORY, AVAILABILITY ect. but it can`t monitor AD Store, LSASS, NTFRS, NETWORK, PerFormance Counter. I want to know how can I enable those monitors. I also enable snmp on my exchange server. I also can monitor the above mention monitors on my exchange server. but when I add the exchange monitor I get the status exchange service is Down. Can someon help to fix it?

Today we added a new UPS to our systems. We gave it an IP of 192.168.1.31, added the hostname and IP to DNS and it is working great. When we tried to add the device to Opmanager we got the following error: "An interface with this IP already exists for the device calnt19.teraint.net" This is not possible, as calnt19 has no interface with that IP. What is the easiest way to monitor the environment Temperature in the serverrom
Hi, I would like to monitor the temperature in the serverrom. I guess the easiest way ist to monitor the node of the APC UPS. But in the template i can't find this monitor, so i added a new monitor with an apc mib. How? Adminpage -> Device templates -> going to "apc ups" and then click on "add monitors". I loaded the apcpower.mib und found an entry called environmenttemperature (SystemIOD .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.2.1.1.0), set the threshold and finished. But now i don't get any data. SNMP Cridential

Why The Opmanager show Alert SNMP Service is Done and DNS Service is Done ???
MSSQL Monitoring and MSSQL 2005

After changing time to DST, wrong time appears on graphics and reports.
The Windows Time has been changed to DST (1+ hour), both Application Server and Database server, but the OpManager is still showing the previous time. Could you help me, please? regards, Gabriel
