Is OpManager able to look for specific wordings in System log file (both Windows and Solaris) and trigger an alert? If so, how to set it up? Thanks.
There is no "Network Map" view in Chinese version
I found there is a "Network Map" view in the English version in the Web client. But it is NOT exist for Chinese version. I think that "Network map" view is necessary to representative topo relative. Hope this issue can be fixed ASAP. Thanks.

Unable to start OpManager 6 as VMware FC4 guesthost
Hello, I was able to install OpManager 6 on Fedora Core 4 as a guesthost in VMWare 5.5. Universal alarms
I'm trying to figure out how to add thresholds and alarms for all hardware of a specific type. I'm not sure if this is an available feature, but i haven't found it yet. In any case, for example, i'd like to be able to assign a threshold of 88% to all harddrives on the server, with the same polling intervals. That way i dont have to go through and assign the value to each device. Is this possible?
Customizing Network Map layout not possible after upgrade
Dear Sirs,- We are currently evaluating OpManager, and I must say that we are impressed. After upgrading from 5.6 to 6.0 it appears that there no longer is a way to customize the layout of the Network Map, which is all but completely useless without the possibility to rearrange and clean things up a bit. After the upgrade the OpManager client interface only shows and only has functionality to create/edit Business views. Are we missing something ? Best Regards,- Thomas

hi , we have 2 locations, india & US. both the places we are using netscreen 25. when i put opmanager 6.0 here. add local netscreen device of india, it works fine. when i add Us netscreen 25 device, it puts into desktop category. after doing manual changes still i dont get any snmp trap for same. pls. suggest solution

Hello, I created a new device type for an Avaya switch and assigned the hub.png image to it. Now when I added the Avaya switch OpManager discovered the switch properly however the image that is displayed is the default switch image. How can I fix the problem Regards, Ramzi
Incorrect reports on dashbaord
On the dashboard the Servers with high Memory Utilization - Last 24 hour(s) section contains my switches as well and the Servers with high CPU Utilization - Last 24 hour(s) section misses out some of my servers notibly the hardest working one. If i go to the reports run the actual report for either of these the correct results are obtained. Any ideas? Ta David
Netscreen VPN Tunnels - Subinterfaces
Testing OpManager for monitoring our WAN links, especially those WAN links that are tunnels. We use Netscreen-25s. Problem. What I would think is each site-to-site VPN shows up as a subinterface. However, when discovering each interface, it only shows the parent interface and none of the subinterfaces. Even after loading the Netscreen mibs. Product limitation? While I could easily graph the links using custom monitors, the problem is I need to both graph the numbers and show state, ID, and "Name"

i've troubles using opmanager with snmpd. snmpd (snmpd.conf attached) runs on a linux box to collect data from the systemboard via ipmi. the output is stored in the mib-tree of snmpd (UCD-SNMP-MIB). i check for ps redundancy and fan redundancy (there are exec lines in the snmpd.conf). snmpd stores the result in a table. for each exec command in the snmpd.conf the index of the parameters will be increased. eg. result of pe2800.PSRedundancy will be stored with index 1. result of pe2800.FanRedundancy
Business View status issue
I created a couple of business views, one for our office and one for our datacenter. I added a shortcut in each of the views to the other map. Everthing was looking good for several days but overnight, both views changed from green to yellow. I have checked the devices in each view and all devices are green and clear. The home page also shows a yellow icon for each of these views. I can't see anything that would have changed the status of these views. There are no alarms and all the infrastructure

Performance monitoring and reporting: Is there a way to grab reports based on a group of servers. I am testing using the 20 node version. I'd like to group 10 servers into a graph of say CPU utilization and put another 10 into a another graph. Can you do that or is a third party utility required?
Actions Menu - Ping
In the Snapshot view of a device, there is an Actions menu on the right side of the window which contains Update Status, Rediscover Now, Ping, Trace Route, Show Alarms, Delete, Unmanage, and Custom Report. I would like to change the settings for the Ping option in this menu, so that it pings more than one time. How can I do this? Thanks
Cisco 4507 interface stats totally wrong
I have installed OpManager 6 to evaluate it's use for a new datacenter we are bringing up. I have had no problem getting it working with our Cisco gear, however, the values it is reporting for the interface stats are way off what the actuals are. For instance, links that have 50mbps inbound and 250mbps outbound are reported as having 7705Kbps inbound and 8847Kbps outbound (current readings). The installation has been running for a week now, and none of the interface stats are correct. Can OpManager

Hi, I really like the scheduled reporting function in OpManager 6.0 but I am still missing a few things here. What I would really like to do is scheduling custom reports based on CPU util, Mem Util, and any other counters which are configured for the devices listed in OpManager. Currently the only things that can be scheduled are availability reports and Top N reports, which don't give me the exact things i would like to see. Hi, I am new to Opmanager and am trying to set up WMI monitors one of my 2003 test servers. I have verified that WMI and RPC are running on the server and client machine. Can't add domain controllers as servers
Hi, Now that the trial of the DC monitoring module for OpManager has run out, I would like to simply monitor my Domain Controllers as regular servers, however, everytime I add the device and add my domain credentials to the password field, OpManager re-detects it as a DC and I cannot monitor it any longer. How do I turn this detection of Domain Controllers off?

URL Monitor - Alarm message truncated
Hi, I've encountered this problem when sending sms alert to users notifying the URL availability. I'm using the alarm variable, $message, in my custom Run Program. My URL monitor has a content match too. (eg: "message1 message2" )When I receive the alarm message using the alarm variable, it gets cut off. (eg: The string "message1. But the actual alarm message looks like The string ""message1 message2"" did not appear in the URL...) If there's any fix, please share with me.

Trap sending problem
Hello. I have a question regarding Unsolicited traps, which i get from routers in my network. There are quite many of them and i don't want to write Trap Processor for everyone of them. Is it possible to configure OpManager to send ALL traps from devices to email, whether they are recognized or not. I just want to get EVERY trap which is sent by devices in network on my email. Only Map Maker in OpManager Client ?
hello there, after updating from 5.6 to 6.0 i face, that in OpManager Client is only the OpManager MapMaker View with assigned/grouped Business views.
