System Tools Disk Cleanup not removing internet cache files
Under Disk Cleanup options, I've selected all checkboxes except for: compress old files, recycle bin, remote desktop cache files, and system restore. Under Scheduler, I chose to perform task At Logon. After I reboot the target computer, I go into ...\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files and the files are still there. Am I missing something?

Change username in chat tool
I'd like to change the username in the chat tool so it doesn't just say "admin", but has my name. Can you add a username field to the admin account?
Default Chat box content
We are having a problem with chat where the End Users are closing the popup chat box before we can get a chance to type anything. Why in the world we are having a tough time getting users to NOT do this is frustrating, but the common theme is that they see this blank box (they are ignoring the name in the window header). Is there a way to add a custom statement as a default push, by default, so that the client's chat box shows it once it pops up giving them a bit more information? Probably a feature
Remote Shutdown - Skip Button
I have a remote shutdown scheduled each day at 5 PM. Most people are gone by then, but occasionally a few people work late. I have a 1 minute delay set up so they have time to save their work after they are advised of the shutdown. Could you incorporate a "skip" button into the message so they can skip the shutdown manually? I use the "shutdown -a" command when I need to skip the shutdown on my computer, but a button would be easier for the typical user.
Remote Command Prompt
Recently I stumbled on this page referring to free Remote Command Prompt tool by ManageEngine. Is this tool available in DesktopCentral? I can seem to find it and it would be very helpful to have it around.
Announcement customization
Hi, Is there the functionality of changing the name of the pop up window for notifications. The feature is really useful as a whole, but think the functionality to change the name on the window would be a massive improvement. We have some users that are closing the notice as they arent sure what it is whereas if we could customise it to say something like "IT Support team @ Head office" then they would be more likely to read it. I've attached an image of the window I'm on about - so the bit that

I need to set 2 schedules... 1 for auto shutdown Mon-Thurs another for every 4th Saturday every 90 days. I was able to set them the way I want them, but when I save the task the configure scheduler only saves one.... Can I set a weekly and monthly schedule?
Change Computer Description
Is there a tool or process in Desktop Central where we can change the Computer Description on registered PCs?
Dynamic groups being used for scheduled restarts
I am trying to create dynamic groups that holds all of our user and use that group to to run scheduled restarts. When I go to add this dynamic group to scheduled restarts it does not show up. Wondering if this just is not possible or if I am going about it in the wrong way. Please advise.
Announcement
Is it possible to send a announcement via a command line or a batch file?
Wake from hibernation
We have a handful of machines that we use connected to large monitors as presentation/digital signage stations that we would like to be able to have hibernate and turn back on as a scheduled task. For example I want them to hibernate at 6PM on Monday through Friday then wake up at 6AM Monday through Friday. What is the best way to accomplish this? Will the devices need to be connected to the LAN via hard wire or can they be wireless? Thank in advance for your help.
Use DC to set local password policy for all user accounts
We need to set a local password policy to require all local accounts to comply with the new policy at the next login of that account. None of our PCs are joined to AD. We have many workstation workgroups and need to deploy tasks to all PCs at a Branch Office regardless of workgroup name. We need to know if DC and be used to update the local group policy for a PC for the following: password minimum length = 8 Use Windows password complexity Password must be changed at least once every 180 days Password
Computers are all selected by Default in Tools>Remote Shutdown
We use the Restart Now feature to restart specific PCs. Recently, all the PCs in our system are automatically checked when opening the Remote Shutdown windows. Happens in all browsers (IE, FF and Chrome). This selection crosses pages and it appears ALL PCS are selected. Is this some admin setting somewhere that we changed and can change back? We need the default action to be UNSELECTED. See example screenshot in attachment. Mike Mike Gerst
Announcement Text does not display
Desktop Central Build No. 90023 The announcement pushed to remote and local locations displayed the Annoucement Title correctly but with a blank message. There is no formatting in the text of the message. Upon <clicking & dragging> within the textbox, The text appeared in inverse and displayed correctly after 'un'-highlighting the text. Also, upon a remote login, as the screen refreshed itself, the text displayed. This occurred for both Windows 7 and Windows XP machines. All have java 7 update 55.
Bug in build 80358 - Database Error When Trying To View Task Name
I have created configuration from template to schedule defrag and disk cleanup for my local office. The program stores the configuration inside Tools > System Tools. When I click on a task name, I get the following error message. [ServletException in:/jsp/tools/taskStatusDetails.jsp] org.postgresql.util.PSQLException: ERROR: invalid reference to FROM-clause entry for table "managedcomputer" Hint: Perhaps you meant to reference the table alias "mcr". Position: 2534' Same error message for any single

Chat window disappears in Windows 8
Chat window seems to work fine in Windows 7, but not in Windows 8. It pops up, but then disappears. Is this a known issue that is being addressed? I am on the latest DC-MSP build.
Where is scheduled shutdown started from?
Hi, We will have planned power outages in several different buildings this weekend. Some of the computers need to be available untill the last moment, so I want to schedule them to be shutdown. So far no problem, however the outage in the building the Desktop Central server is running in is before the others and we don't have our new UPS yet. Therefore my question: When I schedule a shutdown, where is the schedule saved? Is the command sent to the client right away and then executed from there
Problem in remote control connection
Dear Team, In desktop central when I am connected to users by "view desktop". On connecting I can view user desktop and can control it. I saw another option of file transfer there but on clicking it no response observed. So is there something missing?? Prashant Mangal
Announcements feature - choose users across multiple domains/broadcast frequency setting
I am trying to select specific users from each of 3 domains to whom I want to broadcast an announcement. However when I select users from the 2nd domain, it deletes the users I selected from the 1st domain. Also, in the frequency section, it would be helpful to have "weekly" as an option. Right now, I have to set it for every 7 days since I send a weekly maintenance reminder on the same day/time each week. It would also be useful to be able to broadcast to a computer rather than a user.
Remote Shutdown - Schedule Shutdown - Task Details failed to display

Pause scheduled shutdown
It would be useful to be able to pause a scheduled shutdown. For example, when I need to leave the computers on for unscheduled troubleshooting, I have to delete the scheduled shutdown and then readd it so that the computers won't shut down. Therefore I have to redo the entire configuration: machine list, time/date, etc. Would it be possible to add a pause option as is available on scheduled configurations?
Remote shutdown - adjust machine list automatically based on domain
It would be useful to be able to schedule remote shutdown by domain. For example, in patch management, you can just select the domain, and the included machine list automatically changes based on the scope of management as machines are added or removed. Similar functionality would be useful with scheduled remote shutdown so that you could select one or more domains and then exclude specific machines if necessary. Right now I have to add new machines to the list and remove old ones manually or delete
Wake on lan
Hi Support, I am trying to find out which port Desktop Central uses for Wake On Lan, and is it possible to change this port. If so where do I find which port it uses and where do I change it. Regards, Billy. Sorry, found it. Think I was blinded by looking in the Admin settings, but found it under the WOL page.
Chat - can't select machine when user is logged into more than one computer
When I use the chat tool, for some users, I can view a dropdown list of machines they are logged into and select the machine I want to connect to. For other users, I can view a partial dropdown without any machines listed. There doesn't seem to be any pattern. For most users, I can view the machine dropdown, but this is a problem if I am remote controlling one of the machines they are logged into, and I need to communicate with them.
IPv6 and Wake on LAN
Using Desktop Central with Windows 7 Pro client PCs. I'm having a problem with the Wake on LAN feature. It appears that DC is detecting both the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of the PCs, and displays them both on the WOL page. The "Broadcast address" is left blank. When trying to wake a PC the resultant error message is "IP, MAC or Broadcast entry not valid". I can manually change the IP address, deleting the IPv6 address in DC, and adding the broadcast address, and then it will wake the PC. However,
Add tools to the tools section in Desktop Central
Hi All, just wondering if its possible to add more tools to the tools section in Desktop Central? it would be useful if we could add a spyware/adware scanner and possibly more. just wondering if this is possible thanks Russ

Wake on Lan booting to OS deployer PXE server. How do we stop this?
Hi Guys, When we use the WOL feature in DTC it wakes our pc's but they boot via pxe into our OS deployer PXE server. This showing the OS deployer screen. How do we stop this? host is unreachable
I'm using the free admin tools and whenever i use the Shutdown/restart or GPO update tool i get the message Status: Failed and Remarks: Host is not reachable. The workstation is running windows 7 enterprise 32 bit with SP 1 and the server is 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 BIT. The tools worked when the workstation was XP PRO, but now the tools wont work on the station, even thought the workstation sees the server and the tools see the workstation. Any feedback will be great.
Limited System Tools
Are there any plans to improve the currently limited set of system tools in desktop central? Products like SCCM/Altiris have the ability to run remote command prompts and kill tasks but the only thing DC can do is defrag and clean disk?
