More love for the Seflservice portal
Hello, i firmly believe the selfservice portal could use some love. Firstly it could use "categories" instead of one endless long list of software. sometimes users dont know exactly what they are looking for, and having software in category's like "audio
Ability to add a configuration within a software deployment
Hi, Is it possible that the development team of DesktopCentral add the ability to add a configuration within a software deployment? This would add the usefull ability to, for example, add or remove a shortcut after installing a software (that does not support advanced install parameters). Or folders permissions, registry settings ... The most important thing is to deploy some configurations right after the software has been installed (if successfull) without needing to control that every computers
Remove Java Sponsor crapware when installing/updating Java
When using DC to push out Java JRE's, can we please add the "SPONSORS=0" option to both new package installs and the patch scan deployments? That way we can have DC manage the Java security updates but won't have to worry about ask.com hijacking everything. See here for details: https://www.java.com/en/download/faq/disable_offers.xml

Software Deployment Logic Expansion
I've came from Lansweeper system and Desktop Central Software deployment is very primitive. In Lansweeper deployment I can create steps and each step in deployment can preform different task (CMD , file check, version check.. etc..) and depending on
Software Deployment - Prevent Redeploying an Application
Consider the following scenario: You have an application to deploy to the entire domain, but you want to test deployment first to only a few machines. You create a software deployment policy with the package and machines, and deployment is successful. You then modify the deployment to include the rest of the machines in the domain. The deployment runs, but it also redeploys the application even to the machines that already had it during testing. Since Desktop Central keeps track of software inventory
Clarification suggestions
I would like to recommend the following 2 clarifications: 1. On the Patch Summary page (for example) it might say "228 systems are scanned, but the patch summary reports are not generated". This is confusing when we have only 208 machines being managed. Instead, you could say "228 scans have completed, but the patch summary reports have not been generated." 2. When updating the patch database it currently says "Patch Updation in progress". There is no such word "updation". It should be "Patch
remove domains for the domain list when deploying software
Hi All, please can someone explain how i can remove unwanted domains from appearing in the software deployment options. many thanks Russ
HipChat Software Deployment
Hey all, I thought I would post how I got Desktop Central to push HipChat out to my PC's. I first followed the instructions listed here: https://forums.manageengine.com/topic/how-to-create-software-package-with-a-air-extension but had to make some changes. I've highlighted my changes in red. Here's the steps to deploy the adobe air extension using Desktop Central Software Deployment. First, install the Adobe Air using Software Deployment templates: Before deploying the .air application, you will
Deploy software from results of query
Hi, Is there a way to run a query of workstations that have version x of software and then deploy version y to that group of workstations? For example, I would like to run a query of workstations that have a version less than 4.0.7577.4409 of Microsoft Lync. Once I get the list of workstations that have that old version I would like to deploy the current version to those workstations. Thank you, -dennis
File folder operation configuration needs "deployment settings" option
Really all configurations should have the deployment settings option available (example: custom scripts configurations need it too) We need to push a a file to a directory that wont exist until after our software deployment configuration runs with the deployments settings set between 12 - 3am Easy I thought.. I'll just set my file folder operation to run between 3 - 6am except I dont have the option to pick a deployment policy in the file folder operation configuration. That is really inconvenient!
Software deployment exclusion by dynamic group
Is it possible to exclude a configuration that is deployed to a specific group in AD from members of a dynamic custom group? I see that a static group can be applied, but the dynamic groups are missing from the selection window.
Improve Self-Service Portal Cancel Dialog UX

Move the Install button to the 1st column in the Self-Service Portal
Since the SSP isn't resizable, moving the Install button to the first column would make it much faster to install the applications. Our users sometimes hit the wrong button since the shading is so light on the rows.
Remove IE 11
Posting this out there in case anyone else runs into this/has a need to remove. I was able to remove IE11 from all of our machines by creating a new configuration using the "Custom Script" and then "Command Line" option. Script I used was: FORFILES /P
Detecting existing software before install
Hey guys, Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I've just started to test my first few packages to my company via. desktop central. I'm just testing a few simple small MSIs (eg. Citrix client). It seems as though that if the software already exists (installed from the exact same .MSI) on the workstation, DC tries to re-install it again regardless. Since .MSI's can detect if it's already installed - is this not communicated to DC somehow? In other words, if I create a configuration to install
UI change within a software package
When adding or modifying a software package under the "Installation" and "Uninstallation" tab currently there is only a single text box to run commands. EX: It would be helpful to rework the UI to work like "Custom Script" and replace the single text
Intel driver updates and logitech driver updates not implemented
Hello, so the Intel posts links for the newer drivers needed for their systems. However, we do not see these updates for drivers and chipsets in desktopcentral. Could we get those added in our patch management? Also, logitech drivers for cameras and software is not in your store. Is there a reason why this is not applicable in your software deployments?
How to upgrade to Windows 10 Operating System using Desktop Central?
https://www.manageengine.com/products/desktop-central/deploy-windows-10-how-to.html?dci-sdthow\r\n This isn't nearly as useful since desktop central cannot determine the difference between windows 10 versions when creating dynamic groups, deploying software or even in computer details. However desktop central at least knows what patches they should get but that's it. if we could create dynamic groups based on v1511, v1607 and 1703. Now I could target old versions of windows 10 efficiently. it should
Software installing permeation.
I use Manage Engine Desktop Central on my company, how can I prevent users from installing any new software on their machines except the domain admins ?
Skip install if version equal to or greater than - with one conditional statement
When I deploy software, say Google Chrome, I configure the package to abort if the software is already installed. The pre-install check looks like this... It would be great if ME DC had a combined condition for "equal to or greater than" so that I don't have to write two rules for each and every package. A single rule would look like - Google Chrome & ( Version>= 54.0 ) exists Thank you
Run patches from self service?
Would it be possible to run/install patchess from self service? Just add a "Associate Patch" button when configuring self-service?
No default to 'Define Target'
Can we have the 'Define Target' field default to say 'select' and not an existing target as it's caused a couple of issues here with things being deployed to the incorrect location because it wasn't changed. Stephen Fowles 3rd Line Support Technician North West Ambulance Service - NHS Trust

Multiple Network Shares
I have a network consistent of multiple sites - of the sites I admin there are 4 of them which contain Synology NAS Servers using Synology's CloudStation and Cloud Sync which keeps the servers in sync with the same data across all 4 locations. Is there a way for me to specify Software Network Shares for each location? I have a few sites where the internet connection is spotty at best and transfer the software across the WAN link will pretty much take the building offline or take hours. I am using
Please build in installed application detection
Currently if you modify an existing software deployment, DC will attempt to reinstall software that is has already installed previously. This forces one to create another group or targeting so this doesn't happen. Support has told me the best way to detect if an application has been installed is to implement a pre-install script which is OK but it would be better if some kind of facility could be built in to check for some common conditions such as the existence of a file, existence of a registry
Uninstall software that requires password
Hi, We have in our company a number of software's that are restricted and requires a password to change settings and also uninstall. I had no problem installing these, however uninstall seems a bit tricky due to the password process- Anyone have a work around to this, is there a way to specify the password in DC and run the uninstall?

Can you deploy patches or configurations on shutdown? I would like to do this for Office 2010 SP1 update. I can't seem to find this option. Autodesk 2013 Uninstallation
I figured out how to uninstall Autodesk 2013 silently. FYI. "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Uninstall Tool 2013\InvCleanup.exe" /qn InvCleanup.exe will remove all the Autodesk apps. The /qn performs it silently. The icons will disappear one at a time. -Ben

Automatic Software Deployement
Hi, I am looking to automate the updating process of our user's VPN client. We are able to push software to specific computer, but we would like to have the agent look at the computer and recognize that a user has X software version 7.0. Then the agent will automatically with no administrative assistance pull the new 8.0 version for instance to that computer. In our case, the software is WatchGuard MUVPN 11.8, but we also plan to use this with numerous other applications. Thanks!
MSI software deployment have the option to browse and associate an MST file
I know you can specify an msi transforms file (mst file) using the "MSIEXEC/EXE/ISS/Command" option within Software Deployment but to me it would seem a slicker solution if when you have the package type set as MSI you had the optional option to browse and associate a MST file. We use mst file with for most of our msi installers to customise the setup so at the moment we don't really set the package type to MSI that much instead we currently use the MSIEXEC/EXE/ISS/Command package type and specify
