Install Windows components like SNMP?
I need to install and enable the SNMP service on my desktops (for Opmanager to see them). Is there a way to install Windows components using DE? I know it's possible using ocsetup in Windows and sysinternals psexec like this: psexec \\COMPUTER –u USER –p PASSWORD “start ocsetup snmp /quiet /norestart”
Configuration check

Folder Size Custom Script
I am about to do upgrades and need to know how to check specific folder sizes. The custom script to check folder size suggests using <Documents>, <Music>, etc as a script argument. Windows 10 Desktop Management
Currently MS transfer the management from GPO to MDM, it would be great to support GPO Settings through the configurations and add the ability to manage the devices through MDM! Currently we must manually add the registry keys to the clients via the configurations, this is not the best solution.
Collection Wizard
Is there rational for why we cant install software and then take other following steps in the collection wizard. Example being I need to push software but then push a configuration file and restart the service after installation In today's world i need to install the application then follow up with a collection that updates the file and restarts the service. What my goal is to leave this one job running, aimed at a dynamic group so as new boxes come into my pervue the job will see the new device

Migrate DC to PGSQL
I am running the free version of DC 9 that has ended support for MySQL and want to migrate to PGSQL. I have read the KB article but it does not really tell me all i need to know. I figure I have to manually install PGSQL. My server is Win2003 32-bit. Once I install PGSQL and down DC and run the migrateDBtoPostgres.bat file, how will DC now know to use PGSQL as it's DB? Does the migrate batch file also set the correct db in the DC configs? Edit: also then how do I stop the old MySQL instance? Please
Change Remote Site from Direct Communication to Point to DS
Hi We have a remote site (15 PC's) which is setup for direct communication to the DTC server. We also have another remote site which has a DS onsite. I want to change the first remote site so that it points to the second remote site (with DS) because of bandwidth issues. I've tried to make the change in both IE and Chrome but the settings are not saved \ modified. Is this something that I should be able to do. If it should work would I need to push the agent out again or will the new settings
Uninstalling Office 2010 with Desktop Central
We have an issue upgrading from Office 2013 to Office 2016 through office365 when there is remnants of office2010 left on the a windows 7 PC. We have tried multiple ways of pushing the fixit program to a PC and then creating a bat file to execute on the PC and we have had no success. Has anyone else out there been successful at this and would like to share what they did to make this work?
How do you specify that a server in a distribution server?
I have Desktop Central Server installed at two locations. I've told my primary server that a remote office exists and that I want to utilize a distribution server. It says DS is enabled for the remote office, but that DS Status is "Not Yet Installed". Do I have to tell the server I want to be a distribution server that it needs to act as a distribution server or something? Is there a separate package I need to install that I'm not aware of? Thanks!
Pre-Load Packages - vs. - Schedule Config
Hi @ all, I have a question about how scheduling and preloading packages can work together (if they can?)? I usually deploy MS patches with a scheduled time, so that the patches are installed on all clients at the same day during startup. For Example: Monday I announce Patches for our clients for tuesday. On Monday I create the config for patching and set the schedule for tuesday 01:00 (in the night = will install at first startup at tuesday)! Now in your webcast you said that we could activate "preload"
Port 8020 and 8383 are Blocked
I have recently installed DC 9 v 92071 on a test machine (WIndows 7) in a domain with the local Windows firewall turn on. Install MSI with Transform Files
Greetings all, I'm trying to install FoxIT PhantomPDF with a transform file. I can run all the commands from a command prompt and get the application to install without issue and install using windows group policy. However, I cannot get Desktop Central to install it. I have both the msi and mst uploading in the software package and the configuration is set for a computer configuration. Even on a brand new install of windows it just fails with error 1603. Any ideas on why?
Secondary IP address for Remote (Traveling) Users
I've read in a few forum posts and in some documentation that its possible to assign a second IP address to Desktop Central for the agents to connect to but I can't find where this is possible except under the Server migration settings. We need to have one IP address setup for internal LAN clients and a second public IP address programmed for our "Road Warrior's" who very seldom connect directly to the LAN. Is the Sever Migration Settings page the proper place to put this information and if not
Professional to Enterprise Upgrade for Distributed Server
We've upgraded our license from Professional to Enterprise in order to use more of a distributed server set up. I was wondering if I need to update all the agents already installed or if they are getting their information from the Remote offices I've setup and assigned their IP addresses to? Computers are showing up under the remote offices I've setup and the DS information is correct but I can't find anywhere in the local Agent logs where it says it's pointed to the DS for updates. Modify "Alert" messages
Hello, I began to activate "Alert" Configurations for several user groups, i.e.: Warn User 5 days before password expires. / Purge TEMP files. Is there a possibility to modify the text message in the Alert-Popup? For example users have reported, that these messages are confusing and they where not sure, where this came from; one had suspected a malware/virus, because of the plain look of the message box. How can I modify this? If there is no way via frontend: I saw that this is executed by wscipt.exe,

Strange differance between free and enterprise

Malwarebytes has quarantined a registry entry because it thinks it's malware. HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\RUNONCE|Appln1104042454 Quarantined Trojan.Agent.Gen I think it is related to a "Launch Application" configuration I've deployed in Desktop Central. Will it always begin with Appln, because MBAM will allow me to make an

How to handle many configurations for inital setup
Hi @ all, we use DTC very intensively for client configuration, especially for the initial setup of a new windows client. Until now we have over 15 configs that need to be executed on new clients. These configs are already "collections" which take several steps. Other execute batch files, edit registry entries or use the user management feature von DTC. Unfortunately I cannot make one big config because for excample I cannot run several scripts from one config (there is no "add more scripts"). Even

Understanding, how and when Configurations are executed (zombie configs or not taking action)
Hello @all, I am currently testing, whether we could disable the netlogon-scripts and instead use a user-configuration which gets deployed at every logon. During my tests I have had some strange issues: 1. I have had a couple of batch scripts uploaded into the script repository and I had several user configurations to deploy these batches during login. Some of them did not work very good so I moved the configurations to "trash". But at the next login they were still deployed! I can even see the entry

Adding a Distribution Server
I currently have a remote office that has about 200 computers connected to our main DC Server. I would like to add the Distribution Server option to one of the servers at that remote location. My question is: can I just go into the Edit Remote Office page of that remote office and then enter the server information under the Communication Details? Will the agents update automatically? Or do I need to create a new remote office and move the computers to that new remote office? Thanks
publishing desktop central agents for users on the move
I have been reading up on a few tutorials and online articles in order to check the possibility of : establishing a support remote connection to a mobile ( on the move ) user pushing updates/ polices through desktop central agent for the same ( on the move user ) most of the online articles point out that manage engine requires a remote a server or a published IP address and has a limit to 10 users. however, those articles were referring to remote users only. a few other articles which made things

Defining Single Targets
I recently just set up Desktop Central and was testing the software deployment functionality. However, I want to test on a single machine. Unfortunately when i get to the configuration setup, I am only able to choose group targets, "Remote offices" or "Domain". I don't see an option for single target devices. I also have tried creating a custom group with just one machine and still no luck. Same choices. Is there a way to push to a single target?
Power Managment
I've deployed a computer power management configuration to Windows 8.1/10 laptops to dim display after 30 minutes and turn display off after an hour but it appears to have set the display to turn off after a minute of being locked.
