Problems with registry changes
I am trying to change the value at the registry key "Software\Classes\CLSID\{323CA680-C24D-4099-B94D-446DD2D7249E}\ShellFolder". These keys are more protected by the system, and it seems the DesktopCentral agent, which is running as SYSTEM cannot make the change directly. So, I set up a permissions management task to add SYSTEM to that key with full privileges. This doesn't seem to work, since these keys are not set to inherit permissions from above, and the SYSTEM account only has read access to
Language Not changing
Hi, I've just installed desktop central on my network, However when I create an AD user and have the language set to English, it default's to Spanish, I've set up the user with the default Admin account. I have tried changing it as the user and also deleted the user and tried again, Any idea with how I can get this changed?
Java template
We were running on Java 8 update 25. This was from a template in desktop central. I was wondering if there was a newer version, so i searched in templates and found Java 8 update 32. So I downloaded the package and added the new version in the configuation and deployd the new verson to some of our machines. After he said it was finished I went to the computer and looked by software in controlpanel. there i saw 2 versions of Java. The old version and the newer one. Is there a way the newer version
Deploy Policy Wanted - Reboot only if no user is signed on
Hello I would like a deployment policy that reboots only if no user is signed on. I thought that option was already available in fact, but not seeing it. Is that something can be incorporated if there is no interactive session going on a computer? If it already exists, could you help lead me to it :) Thank you!
Rebuilt Server (new hardware) Seen as "down" in DTC
We had a motherboard, (includes NIC-macs), harddrives replaced on a server, and while active directory is happy with this server and its complex software installations. Desktop central agent is not. It was showing as "down" so I reinstalled the agent, and that completed quickly and still showed as down. So I'm attempting to uninstall the agent, and here's where I see it just hanging. I expect removing it from DTC and readding it, might be the way to go. Just curious what DTC might be looking

Hye people off the forum, I found some good information that can be useful to some people. Currently I'm experimenting with Desktop Central in a small test environment. I have tested some patch functions, Remote Control en scan/inventory off PC. Everything has worked when adding some ports to the firewall rules. But the Remote Control keep failing. On the GUI web-interface it sayd: "Please wait...Establishing remote control connection on -'computer name' ". On the target PC you get something like:

I was wondering is there an easy way to run a check disk on all pc. I would like to schedule at a check disk to run once a month on our pc. Can I have this command run in the background of a pc at scheduled times? I looked in the configuration and didnt see anything to schedule a command to run silently.

Hi, I have set up a configuration but it doesnt seem to run the way it should. Here is what I did. I went to Admin \ Custom group \ Create New \ "Dynamic" The I selected "Software name" - "not equal" - "7-Zip 15.14 (x64 edition)" So now I have a dynamic group set with all pc's that dont have 7zip. I checked and this does update itself. Then I create a configuration, then I select "Apply to Specific Target" and pick "Dynamic custom group" and pick my 7zip group I made above. Is there a way to do multiple file copies in a collection?
I have a process that requires two different file copies to two different file locations in one collection, but a collection only lets you set one destination for a file or group of files. So I'm looking to find out...is there a way to do two different sets of file copies in one collection? Since you're just checking a box, I'm guessing not.
Yet another define target problem
After updating to Version 91122, in the "define target enhancement", I can't find any option to insert a comma separated list with computer targets. The previous version allowed to paste a list into the target field. Now I have to select those 100+ targets from a drop down list. Did I overlook something, or is this option really gone?
Java install failing
Recently I have been given the responsibility to handle all of the Java updates in our organization because the admin that was doing them in the past is no longer with us. I remember that he has had issues installing/updating Java with Desktop Central in the past but I don't know if he was ever able to resolve them. An issue I ran into was when trying to install a 32 bit version of Java (Java 8 u73) on a 64 bit Windows 7 machine the install/update would fail. This does not happen with the 32bit version

Detailed list of Disk Cleanup, and able to use it as a Configuration?
Is there a detailed list of descriptions of the Disk Cleanup items? I see "old chkdsk files", but is that a raw "*.chk" anywhere on the drive, or the checkbox option on cleanupmgr? Same goes for Service Pack Cleanup and Windows Update Cleanup. It isn't particularly clear what those do - is either a dism cleanup command? For that matter, does that simply invoke cleanupmgr, or does it run it's own thing? Many of the machines I support don't have cleanupmgr installed. Lastly, is there a way to use

Roaming WAN Agents - how do they update distribution server information?
Can someone please clarify for me how it is that a WAN agent changes the distribution server it receives content from? From the documentation it states in a few places that the Agent will be installed from the Distribution server if it senses an IP Subnet change? what I am understanding from that is that the DC Agent gets fully installed at each different location the user visits? Or does the agent just update some configuration files that contain the new Distribution server settings? My

Currently a connection of some sort is required to deploy certain types of scrips using DTC. This could be a logged in user or a active RDP session. In an environment ruled by end user desktop/laptops that seems fine however in an environment comprised of only servers where there should be minimal direct log ins that makes that particular module rather useless. We hit up support and were told this was just the way it was. Are there plans to change how scripts are run in order to accommodate not directly
Environment Variable
I'm trying to get Desktop Central to set a User Path Environment Variable based on the current log on server. IE Variable = LogonServer Value = CURRENTDOMAINCONTROLLER Where CURRENTDOMAINCONTROLLER is equal to the Domain Controller that last processes their log on request. Hi, I Would like to edit multiple configurations at one time. For example: I have Adobe Flash Player 19 ActiveX 19.0.0.185 used in the configuration "basic laptop" and the configuration "presentation PC" When Adobe releases a new Adobe version i would like to change all configurations which includes Adobe Flash Player 19 ActiveX 19.0.0.185 and replace it with the newer version. DCConfiguration File Operation (Upload) via HTTP fails with error
During a "File Folder Operation", copy, in a configuration/collection we get error "Error while copying files : The process is not in background processing mode." We have tried multiple paths and with and without ZIP with the same message. We cannot get HTTP to upload a very tiny file to the PC via this collection. I have uploaded/sent the client logs referencing this forum post.
Change URL name
By default the url name after the installation is http://localhost:8020 . i want to change the url name to desktopcentral. Where can i change this. In DSP you can easy change this in the general settings.

Batch or script file to get Windows info
I want to run a powershell or bat file to get info about each machine. The script will get system info and write it to a text file on the network. Desktop central services will not start after installing Hotfix: build 92073
Last week I installed hotfix Build 92073. After installation desktop central services will not start. I have rebooted server few times with no results. I enabled logging when deploying it but the script return the error 27, 49) Microsoft VBScript compilation error: Expected ') I have looked at the code and dont see anything wrong on this line. Removing Distribution Servers
Hello, I have 5 Distribution Servers configured in my Desktop Central environment. Since several of my remote offices are very small I would like to remove the Distribution server in those offices and have them communicate with the local office over our MPLS. Do I just simply just remove the remote office and the IP scope which is configured? Will the agents automatically start using the local office as their point of contact?

Desktop Central has stopped working, I have looked at server Event Veiwer and found an error - Source Service Control Manager Event ID - 7024. I have gone in to services and started the ManageEngine Desktop Service Server, but in the system tray ManageEngine Desktop Central 9 is status is showing stopped right click and start only produces another event as show above. Anybody able to help? Gary
